We went with Which due to their reputation but have been sorely disappointed. We had a Help to Buy mortgage but we noticed that there was no mention of this in the mortgage offer document. We bought this to Which's attention and asked if there are any additional forms for the help to buy side that needed filling as the Help To Buy site suggested there were. They advised us that all was in hand, no documents needed to be filled and our solicitors and Nationwide were aware that this was a Help to Buy mortgage so the mortgage offer was correct. This was not the case and we almost lost our house and became homeless because of their mistake. The mortgage was delayed by 4 months and we ended up having to escalate to MD level in order to gain any appropriate level of service. The stress and extra fees this caused are nothing in comparison to the fact that it triggered stress induced alopecia leading to hair loss and eventually having to purchase a wig. We are currently discussing compensation with the company but they continuously avoid addressing this very upsetting and important fact. They have shown no humility nor apologised for this disastrous consequences of their misconduct. Avoid Which mortgage advisors unless you would like to be misinformed, loose your hair and have to perform the role of a mortgage advisor yourself despite paying them for this service.

Unbelievable bad customer service. You will be calling and calling 'Which' to get every part of the process completed. It would have been less stressful to go direct to the bank. Plus I'm 250 pounds down. Not sure how they carry the which brand.

Poor value for money. The service at the very beginning looked very promising, but in the end I paid £400 to secure a mortgage with a high street lender, something I would have been better off doing myself. When issues arose, i.e. timescales associated with the survey, I ended up calling the surveyors personally to deal with the problem. When I asked for support from Which? the response was to all intents and purposes "we've done our bit." Communication throughout the process particularly at the end was disjointed. I had to remind each Which? employee involved in the process that I was an existing Which? member. I am a strong advocate for the Which? 'supplier/product review' service, but as for their Mortgage Adviser offering, I strongly advise against investing in this service.

We were satisfied with the overall service received by Which? Mortgage Advisers. They explained to us the process and offered the best solutions based on our circumstances, with detailed explanations provided. We felt looked-after and would recommend the service to friends. There are a few things that could be different and would make our experience better. We would prefer a more concentrated approach with regards to the documentation needed as often we were told to produce various documents at different times in a single day. Also at times I felt that the language used could be more professional as some comments seemed a bit out of order. The most important complaint we have about the service is the availability of the individual dealing with our case as we never managed to speak directly to him when needed but had to leave a voicemail and wait for a call back instead. This really needs addressing. Probably if not available the whole day dedicating certain hours in the day that they can pick up the phone could be a solution.

We had an excellent experience using Which mortgage advisers and couldn't be happier with the work they did for us. Having been totally misled by our bank (HSBC) on how best to finance our major house redevelopment we found ourselves going round in circles and the guys at Which sorted us out within a couple of days of making contact with them. We would highly recommend them

I used Which? Mortgage Advisers to help me arrange my mortgage when I bought my flat 3 years ago & was very impressed. My adviser Caprice Mann was so friendly & helpful and answered all my questions as a first time buyer. She found me an amazing rate too. My mortgage deal was coming to an end this year & I was just thinking about contacting her again...when she got in touch with me! The service has been brilliant again this time - Caprice found me an even better deal & helped me borrow some extra cash for a lease extension & Yasser Ali, the mortgage co-ordinator kept me up to date with the application process. I will definitely contact Which? again when I need to re-arrange my mortgage in future & I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good deal & someone to help you negotiate all the complexities!

I am an IT contractor and as such don't have much luck in the mortgage world as banks don't seem to get our financial position. Peter and Steve just took all that stress away for me, sorted out a great mortgage and managed it through to completion. Plus the service is very good value for money as I did find some financial services companies who charged quite a bit more. I will be buying another property soon (I hope!) and I will definitely be coming back to Which? when I do.

Hello "Which" Sorry, I feel you have let me down. Several days ago, I wrote to you under the "Contact Us" label to advise that, at age 84, I am no longer concerned with the items you cover and requesting details of how I could terminate my Standing Order and Direct Debit with you. To date, silence! c.n.c.29@outlook.com

I use Whiich if I want information on most expencitive purchases, however I am cueeantly looking to downsize , and am poking for a Retiring viiiage for a two bed apartment, and find that if I was unhappy there, it would cost me up to 10. Percent of the selling price of my selling price if I sold it.. I think that is far too much. The prices are about £400000

Very concerned that some so-called best buys are rated very poorly by actual users. On several occasions, I have bought things on the basis of their being a Which? Best Buy, only to find either they didn't work at all (Humax set top boxes), or were very poor/unreliable. This prompts me to question the value for money of my subscription

When looking up test results of items on line,it would be helpful to know the date the tests were done.

I have had problems lately choosing new products to buy using Which reviews - so many of your items aren't available in my chosen stores - Argos, John Lewis for example... Or when Which recommends a product but users who have bought the products give bad reviews of the same products - who am I supposed to believe...

Poor is a bit harsh but reviews tend to be a bit light & not as comprehensive as they SHOULD be & include items tested too long ago to be relevant or or indeed some too often. Comparisons are not like for like par example: how can you sensibly equate products reviewed as long ago as 2009 with ones tested 5 or more year later. By 5 years they are irrelevant - but they do! Also one gets the feeling that reviewers have favourite makes that get tested more often than others and that treat the whole thing a bit too light heartedly. Add to that that newsletter links and links on the website often don't work, it's all a bit much. So, as they say, how does this make out. Well, other members (yes more than one) I know have given up on Which? because they 'could no longer rely on what they say'. And I know how they feel. Come on Which? get serious and meaningful again.

Which? is a useful tool but it's very hypocritical. It spends far to much time and effort encouraging readers to cut costs by opting for cheaper products and services but then it complains when products and services become poorer because of consumer pressure to drop prices. It should concentrate on good quality products and services rather than cheap prices. Build quality and longevity is an important factor when buying a product but Which? gives it very little weight when reviewing a product, this means that excellent products such as Dualit toasters get poor ratings. Which? encourages readers to use online services and self-service techniques to save money on things such as estate agency, conveyancing and will writing. This is a false economy because the customer has to spend far more time and effort themselves (time is money) and prices will go up elsewhere in the industry to compensate. In the end, the customer will be paying just as much (or more) but having to put in more time and effort themselves and receiving a poorer service. It is good economy to use good quality, local, independent businesses and to buy well-built, enduring products. Which? should consider this in future.
