“I have shopped at Wholefoods for over 20 years. I used to drive from Fredericksburg, VA to the Springfield, VA Wholefoods because there were no stores near me.
I now live in Richmond, VA and shop at both Wholefoods; mainly the one that is blocks from my home at 2024 W Broad St.
Last evening I stopped at that store to pick up dinner items and a bottle of wine. I was asked to present my drivers license which I did and I also pulled the temporary paper license out stating that my license just expired on my birthday July 7, and I had not yet received my new license. I am 61 years old and do not look like I am possibly younger than 21. My expired license showed my age and photo and the temporary license showed the new expiration date.
A manager was called over to authorize my purchase of the wine. He told me the store policy does not allow approval of the expired or temporary license. I said that was ridiculous. He said I am sorry but it is store policy.
I spends hundreds of dollars at Wholefoods every month on groceries. That ended yesterday. I will no longer patronize a store that does not accept a valid DMV document as a form of I.D. and that embarrassed me in front of a line of customers and inconvenienced me by causing me to drive to the other side of town in order to purchase a bottle of wine to serve with dinner.
Shame on Wholefoods. I will be sharing my experience with all of my neighbors and writing reviews of this deplorable experience.”
“First of all the customer service cannot answer any questions and tell you to contact the regional office phone number which sends you back to the original customer service that cannot answer the question. Secondly, they purchase their lobster tails from Luke lobster and only the ones from Canada whereas the other stores in Illinois purchase the Luke lobsters from Maine which are much better tasting. Also, they cannot keep employees at the store because it is such a bad environment to work in. Also, if you cannot get a hold of anyone higher than customer service it shows that they don’t care what is going wrong.”
“The deli department was horrible I wanted plain roast beef he kept telling me they don't carry that when in fact I bought it there several times the man was rude and impatient at Bergen Mall nj”
“FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A MONTH AT THE VERNON HILLS STORE (AND IT HAPPENS ON A REGULAR) I PURCHASED 1/2 DOZEN BAGELS. DON'T KNOW IF THEY WERE OVERCOOKED OR HAD SAT OUT OVERNIGHT BUT THEY WERE STALE AND NOT PLEASANT TO CHEW. AFTER FORCING DOWN THREE OF THEM THE REMAING THREE WERE TOSSED INTO THE GARBAGE.”
“Overpriced and over rated. While at the self check out recently, I had to ask the same person THREE times for help. All she did was tell me where the bar code was, but it was not working. Obviously, she was not interested in working because she did not help.”
“I have shopped at WholeFoods for 30 years because of their policy of guaranteed freshness, excellent staff and management, customer satisfaction and excellent foods. I am very disappointed, WholeFoods quality and service has diminished greatly. It is still grossly expensive and not worth the visit. Sorry WholeFoods. I would love to be a secret shopper there. The new service is rude, angry, (unprofessional-meat market) and unfriendly. The seasoned (prior employees) WholeFoods staff should train the newbies, many are in need of customer service training. Smiling entice more spending! The afforementioned concerns have encouraged me to shop at other merchants.”
“In my opinion, Whole Foods is the best health market I have ever been in. They have a very wide range of healthy products and all of their vegetables and fruit are high quality. I wish it was a bit less expensive, but I know eating healthy is not cheap.”
“Some of the "fresh" stuff is not so fresh.
Very high prices for just regular stuff.
Customer service sucks. Too many of the staff members busy "socializing" among themselves while you are waiting and waiting and waiting for someone to help you.
Recently bought a fruit creme brulee. It had some glue/sugary/stick stuff on the bottom. The crust was glued to the cardboard. It could not be cut in slices and served. We scooped it out but that is not how it should be served. The bottom of the pie shell remained stuck to the cardboard.”
