I believe that Woolovers cashmeres are made in China- Google, but I'm not placing an order that comes from China. I would like to support the UK wool producers and woollen garment production or at least from Europe. I have just returned a 2 cashmere cardigans to John Lewis as they came from China. This can not be considered ethical or sustainable. CHECK the LABEL carefully! I'm now looking for a home producer. I have had mixed results with the quality from Woolovers. I'm still wearing an 80% marino 20% cashmere cable jumper bought about 5years ago -its great! I did send back a number on men's 100% lambs wool jumpers. They hung like woven fabric and had no wool qualities at all. NO spring, softness or good elasticity- stretch and recover properties. I've bought some recycled wool which was better. What's happening to the quality and lack of weight per garment?

My daughter worked there and the staff are treated badly. The CEO is a megalomaniac and if staff have any grievance , he tells them to leave. They claim to be green and ethical , but this is nonsense. The majority of garments are made in China and shipped to UK. They then may be sent out to customers in places like Russia , Korea, or Japan. If they are returned , they are sent back to UK. This could be a total journey of around 25,000 miles. Also, they send out over 1 million paper catalogues a year. Hardly green , or ethical.

My husband received a 100% lambswool crewneck jumper from Woolovers for Christmas and after 4 wearings the jumper has rubbed and balled very badly. This is the third sweater he has had from Woolovers and each has been progressively worse in quality. It is very disappointing given the number of women’s merino and cashmere sweaters I have bought over the years which have lasted and worn well. So what is going wrong with the current quality?

Bought a jumper and after first wash it shrank and bobbled, I washed it as per instructions. They apparently received it on the Monday and with lightening speed had it laboratory tested and sent it back to me so that it arrived first thing Thursday morning. Must be the fastest laboratory test in the world!!! Or do they get so many they simply return immediatly to the poor customer, oh they do send a bobble comb with it!! So I am left with a bobbled and shrunken jumper which is fit for nothing. I also find that all their products are made in Chine, need one say any more. Very very disappointed with their response, they have just lost yet another customer and this ones friends and family

bought a jumper, washed it as per instructions on garment, it bobbled and shrank, sent it back, they apparently received it Monday, sent it to their laboratory for checking and in less than 24 hours posted it back to me, (it arrived early Thursday morning) enclosing a bobble comb and said I had washed it on wrong speed, as it was on the wool cycle I didn't control the speed. Also all their products appear to be made in China, that should say it all for any discerning customer. However, they must have the fastest laboratory testing facility, or do they just get so many they simply post them back with a bobble comb

Mittens are billed as ‘100% sheepskin’. The outer shell may well be but the inner lining is scratchy, artificial and the fibres fall out. Completely false advertising. In addition, the colour is nothing like that shown on website. Will have to return at my own expense. It also seems to be impossible to leave a review on their website, so interested to know where all the glowing review on the site come from!

I have been a good customer of Woolovers for several years and have made many purchases. recently I put in an order online. It prompted me to increase my order over the £80 threshold to get free delivery and what I thought was free returns and I decided to add on some socks to do this. The package arrived with the main item and two of the pairs of socks missing. I had to make several (very tedious and time consuming) phone calls, send several emails and photographic proof in order to get them to eventually agree to send out the missing items. None of the four people I had to interact with offered any apology. Finally the main item arrived, only to turn out to be massive, despite being a size 's". Then I find it is not free returns at all, not even for exchanges, which at first I though I would do. Having discovered this I decided to return and not exchange. This leaves me out of pocket by £4.80. Won't be using this company again. In the interim I had a faulty pair of beautif house shoes fro Boden. I made one phone call, received full apologies, new pair sent out immediately, no 'proof required, no return required. Also made a purchase from Weird Fish several months ago. Not too sure of it - but have 6 months within which to decide and can return for free. Guess which companies I will stick with in future!

I have over the years bought many items from Woolovers. In the early yers I was well pleased with the quality and price however in the past year or so I have noticed a deterioration in the quality accompanied by an increase in price. The neck bands on cardigans especially, frequently have to be repaired - not easy when no spare wool is enclosed. Buttons also constantly lose their colour and you are left with a white ring around the edge. I have got used to the pilling - this does disappear after a time. I think it is wrong to describe the Merino and Cashmere items as Cashmere and Merino as the mix is 80% Merino and 20% cashmere. I have with great reluctance made up my mind that I shall no longer be buying from Woolovers.

Poor quality, itchy wool. 'British Knitwear' this is not! Made in China and it shows. I should have listened to the other reviews.

Hi, I had been given a present by my ill mother in law, but present was too small. I asked for an exchange, but they said it should have been done by 6th January. V sad, as i have bought loads from Woolovers and have always been very pleased. I understand a refund not acceptable, but NOT TO AGREE to exchange for a bigger size.... very poor. WATCH OUT future buyers, incase it happens to you.

I have bought at least four over time of the zipped up cardigans. I do not sit with my elbows on a desk or table but the elbows in three of them has worn so thin after twice repairing have cut the sleeves to short sleeve. I should not have to do that. The orange one has even started to split on arm seam - why? More mending. The latest was black and not yet been worn a lot. Quality does not feel as good as previous ones. Now I learn they are made in China I will have to think quite seriously before buying anything more. Used to recommend will no longer do that. No other cardigans have ever worn so very badly. You need to sort something out. Ann Jihnson

Ordered a cardigan For my husband on the 18th December for Christmas it arrived after contacting them to say I no longer wanted it as it was now 14th January. I told them to refund my money. Well guess what they still sent it. I refuse to pay the returns and rang them to ask for a prepaid return label. Guess what....still not come ..probably won't do Will never order from them again. Terrible service. Avoid them.

Last three merino with cashmere mix pullovers have pilled and not worn at all well! The quality of the merchandise has deteriorated a lot since I first bought woolovers products. A great pity but I will not be buying anymore!

Horrible customer service (call centre). The website makes the return sounds so easy. But later I found out that my returned item (bought from Australia) needs to be shipped from Australian to UK to be able to get refund, which take at least 6 weeks to process as the customer service person told me. And they don't have anyone helpful at the call centre. If I want to talk to anyone who know how the company works, I need to call at UK daytime, which would be evening in Australia. I think the company should make this explicit at the first place, rather than trick the customers.

I frequently receive your catalog. There are beautiful clothes, however I fell afraid to buy something: the reviews are not recent and a lot of complaints about quality and return service. Maybe, I will try buying something to see what happen.

I ordered three t-shirts from Woolovers - all three were dreadful quality, like market rags: uneven sleeves, hugely oversized and yet so short they didn't cover my midriff (I'm only 5ft 5), see through, and with uneven hems. All three were returned on the grounds of poor quality. Woolovers are now refusing to refund the original delivery cost, despite being legally required to do so by the 2013 Consumer Contracts Regulations. In researching solutions I also learned that Woolovers was caught breaching advertising law in 2016 by only publishing positive reviews. Terrible products and terrible ethics - avoid!

I was not impressed when I had to pay to return goods. I won't be shopping with woolovers in the future.

Worst company i have ever dealt with. Send substandard goods of very poor quality. Had to pay £17 to return it. Then they denied receiving the goods back so had to send a photo from courier to prove it was in their building. THen they ignore emails regarding refund and then when you call them they say they are waiting for the manufacturers to respond as to whether they are happy to refund despite the fact that woolovers website says they have a no quibble return policy if you arent happy with the products will never use this company again, buyer beware, their website promises one thing and the reality is something very different indeed. i am going to dispute with my credit card company next as this seems to be the only way this will be resolved and a refund be obtained
