WOOLOVERS CALL CENTRE AIS A SCAM IN SOUTH AFRICA WHERE STAFF IS EXPLOITED I would like to formally express my disappointment regarding my experience working for WoolOvers under The Worth Group campaign at Sky High in Durban Central, Victoria Embankment South Africa. I joined the company on 9 March after leaving a previous UK-based company where I was earning approximately £358 (R8,000) per month. Although the salary was higher, I made the difficult decision to leave because my mental health was suffering, and I was seeking a healthier working environment rather than financial gain. During the recruitment process at Sky High, I was informed that the basic salary would be R5,000 (approximately £224) per month, which is already far below what many South Africans can reasonably survive on. Based on this understanding, I accepted the position and committed myself fully to the role. However, when payday arrived at the end of the month, I received less than R1,700 (approximately £76). When I raised the issue, I was then informed that the salary was actually R4,500 (approximately £202), not R5,000 as initially communicated. This information was only disclosed after I had already worked nearly the entire month. In addition to this, no proper induction was conducted, and I was never provided with an employment contract despite repeatedly requesting one. The HR representative, Zanele Lukozi, advised that the documentation would be sent to me, but this never happened. What disturbed me even further were the practices within the company regarding customer data and compliance procedures. From my experience, the company does not appear to properly follow GDPR compliance standards or basic data protection procedures expected from companies dealing with UK customers. Agents including myself were instructed to reassure customers that their information was being processed through a “secure line,” despite serious concerns internally regarding whether those systems were genuinely secure, and they are not.. its a lie. yuur data can be stolen in South Africa!!!!! Customers trusted the company with sensitive personal and payment information under the belief that proper protections were in place. This raised major ethical concerns for me because innocent customers deserve honesty, transparency, and lawful handling of their private information. Furthermore, the company culture and operational practices gave the impression of disregarding both South African labour standards and internationally accepted data protection principles. Employees were placed under pressure without proper training, clear contracts, or transparent communication regarding salary and workplace expectations. As a parent of three children — including one child in university and another still requiring diapers and milk — this situation placed me under severe financial and emotional strain. Employees deserve professionalism, honesty, lawful treatment, and respect in the workplace. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves how employees and customers are treated moving forward. I AM STILL OWED BY THE COMPANY AND IM WORRIED THAT YOU GUYS ARE GIVING YOUR DETAILS TO SCAMMERS AT SKY HIGH. IM AM A VERY UNHAPPY PRESON AND I PRAY EVERYONE REALISES THAT THIS IS NOT WORTH IT !! HOW ARE YOU CONTENT KNOWING ALL YOUR LOVELY CLOTHES ARE BEING SOLD BY ANGRY EMPLOYEES WHO HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE IN STEALING OUR DETAILS? HOW ARE YOU CONTENT KNOWING WE WORK IN A SCAM COMPANY BEING EXPLOITED?? I BELIEVE ITS THE COMSUMER WHO HAS A WORD THAN US

I’ve only worn my gloves a few times and they look so awful, because of piling, I no longer can wear them. I decided to spend the extra cost to get these but they are certainly not worth the price . When I contacted them - they suggested I pull the bobbles of myself and to get a piling comb.

My wife ordered a corduroy dress early December well in time for Christmas. It was stated that the Article was despatched in good time using Ervi as the delivering service. It was made easy in that we requested delivery to one of Evri’s receiving shops. Despite constant checking with Evri, they decided to return the article to the original sender. After waiting over 30 minutes on the customer service line we were finally told the article could now not be delivered by Christmas, even though there are still two days to go. Extremely poor service from a Company that should use a reliable delivery agent.

The neck band has completely detached itself from the sweater and this is very difficult to repair in any acceptable way. Normally the neck edge is part of the garment when knitted. What is going on here? I am very annoyed and will not be buying any more from Woolovers.

I ordered several cashmere sweaters from Woolovers two years ago. Last year I noticed they were beginning to pill on the sleeves and underarms. This year each time I wear them the pilling gets worse. Pills are all over the sweaters to the point where I am embarrassed to wear them. I am very angry. Customer service says pilling is normal. I am not stupid. I have owned several other cashmere sweaters for years including some from Sundance and some from LLBean. These sweaters are pilling normally. Some on the arms and some in other places. I can shave those off. The heavy pilling covering the entire Woolover sweaters is Not Normal and all over pills are impossible to remove! I won’t buy anything here again.

I loved my cashmere and merino wool sweaters but quite soon after wear some of the pearl buttons came off. I sewed them back on but have subsequently lost two. I rang customer service only to be told I couldn’t get replacement pearl buttons. I have had to order more on Amazon but I’m not sure they will be a match! Such a shame as these sweaters are not cheap.

Feel Woolovers has really changed lately with poorer quality garments and poor customer service. Purchased a merino/cashmere jumper which developed two holes after very little wear and very gentle washing. I have three others in different colours with no problems at all so felt this was a faulty garment. Reported to customer service who were most unhelpful to the point of rudeness and would not even consider that it could be faulty. Just kept quoting terms and conditions to me! Will not be using them again.

I bought a jumper for my mother which she was not happy with returned it and after not hearing back after a few weeks I contacted the company and was told they had received it and would get my refund in 7-10 days . When I next checked after over 1 week with no refund I got a very rude and aggressive man who accused me of lying and accused me of not returning the item . I have never been treated in such an offensive manner by anyone and would recommend not using a company that would treat anyone like this. I have not yet received a refund it is now 26 days since I was billed

Scratchiest wool cardigan I have ever laid hands on, but I would not protest this: one can always send it back. Ther problem is: ordering leads to being inundated by printed catalogues, impossible to stop. They share your address also with another Company that sends printed catalogues frequently and do not responded to email pleas of cease and desist. Buyer beware that one piece of cheap knitwear will cost the world a whole lot of Co2 plus the time wasted to try and make it stop.

I like the products but your returns arrangements are dreadful. Why cant I take a returned item to my nearest Woolover shop? An unnecessary return postage cost is highly irritating. I wont be ordering online again and have unsubscribed from your e-mails to avoid future temptation. I have spent a lot of money in the past. Silly business model that causes you to lose customers.

I ordered a linen shirt described as white. It turned out to be a very shady, unattractive off-white. As I had already paid £4.95 for delivery, I emailed them to ask for a pre paid return label as the item was not as described. They refused, saying that although the item was described as white, it was depicted as off-white. This was not the case, it was not possible to tell this and it looked white on the photograph. I have been a customer of Woolovers for over 10 years. Clearly, I am not valued and I will never order from them again. I would give them no stars.

Their sizing on an item I ordered is incorrect, it's an S but it fits like a M-L. I know because I have several items of theirs in S including the exact same item I ordered, it's always my size for years, has never changed. They refuse to acknowledge their mistake and pay return postage and exchange the item. Have been a loyal customer for years, but will now never order anything from them again. Zero stars.

ought a zip up cardigan based on the sizing of two that I already have, the photo of the product was an S and looked snug on the model, but the one they sent me was a full 1-2 sizes bigger than ones I bought before, so that the sleeves are baggy and loose around the cuffs and the whole thing just hangs. So size S is more like a M-L. Silly me to assume that the new size S would be the same as the old size S. I sent them a photo of the old cardigan overlaid with the new one to show the difference in size even though they are both size S (posted here). When I contacted so-called 'customer service' (took three messages and a week for them to get back to me) they told me they'd 'changed their sizing' and refused to provide a return label. Which is a load of hogwash since I ordered another different style in S at the same time and it's the same sizing as the others that I have (I always order the same 2-3 styles same size, in different colours) and fits just fine. So I have around 8 Woolovers jumpers/cardigans in size S that are ALL THE SAME and yet somehow this one is massive, whose fault would that be? It's a shame that your reputation and keeping a loyal customer is not worth $15 postage to you. It says a lot about your company that you can't even be honest and take responsibility for your dreadful manufacturing. Terrible customer service and even though I've been a customer for several years, I will not be buying from them again. Buyer beware.

Customer service person appeared irritated , lots of loud background shouting voices. my enquiry was for returns address for an item, this person snapped at me that it will be on the package, but I could not see it anywhere, and was told I have to write a label myself, but there was no printed address on the returns section , it was blank. I tried to tell this to the customer service woolovers representative,‘but I appeared to cause more irritation for the customer service person, the call disconnected . Terrible woolovers company, customer service, Woolovers, will lose customers
