“Fantastic range of varieties of fruit bushes, including many heritage ones, rather than the couple of very predictable varieties you find in garden centres or most catalogues. Very prompt delivery of nice-looking bare root plants, useful planting advice - and a follow-up email within a couple of days to check that all was well. Excellent service all round.”

“After making enquiries whether my choice of trees would work in our space, the detailed and encouraging response came very swiftly. Ordering was easy and the trees arrived quickly and beautifully packed. I was very impressed that all the packaging was recyclable. A follow up email then arrived to make sure I was happy and offering to help with any planting or growing advice. Such excellent service, thank you, and definitely worth 5 stars!”

“I chose Chris Bowers because his website made it quite clear that they only sold trees which they had grown themselves. So many other websites seem to sell 'everything' whereas I was looking for a specialist grower. My queries by email were answered very quickly and armed with their advice I was able to swiftly place my order. My two peach trees arrived in perfect condition - not a limp or damaged leaf in sight, due, no doubt, to all that dried grass lovingly placed around each one. I am about to order some more fruit trees and will definitely go back to Chris Bowers - why go elsewhere when everything is perfect here?”

“I would like to summarise my trading experience with you, please feel free to use as a testimonial, as the ad says 'if Carlsberg did tree nurseries' they should just rebrand yours. From my first enquiry I received prompt replies with confirmation re delivery times etc and recommendations re which tree might suit best. The tree arrived as promised and I was delighted with the condition, pot size and roots. The packaging was also excellent and 'eco', very impressed with the dry grass! I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you and will certainly bore my gardening friends with tales of your service.”

“Good range and great service. Ordered two pear trees from here as another nursery I was considering was out of stock. Chris Bowers had exactly what I wanted at a reasonable price and the trees arrived in good condition within 48 hours. That would have been enough on it's own, but a day later I received an email from Mr Bowers himself asking if I was happy with my purchases and did I need any help or advice on planting or cultivation. I said yes, and again received a personal reply the next day. In these "cash & carry" days that's awesome service and I'll definitely order from Chris Bowers again”

“An excellent selection of fruit plants, which is a joy after visiting some of our local garden centers! The delivery of our fruit trees was prompt and they arrived in excellent condition. The thing that stands out the most with this company is the customer service, receiving a personal email rather than an automated response is a rarity and a much enjoyed aspect of buying from them. I don't think we'll be looking anywhere else for fruit trees in the future!”

“This is a brilliant nursery with a superb range of varieties. Far more than you get in even the best garden centres, selling older, traditional, varieties as well as the latest releases. I have bought fruit trees in the past and been delighted with the results. This time I wanted a few raspberries, to fill in gaps in the row and I chose Malling Promise, an old sort from the 1960/70s. Normally I would go for bare rooted plants, but because I would be away I asked if they were available in pots, which they were. Replies to my queries were prompt and the plants arrived in excellent condition a few days later. What more can one ask. I am retired now but for many years I was the director of the HDRA, now called Garden Organic, which was then Britain's foremost authority on organic gardening. Chris Bowers supplied many of the fruit trees and bushes grown at our national demonstration centre and I thoroughly recommend them. This nursery is a real gem!”

“I needed advice before purchasing an apple and pear tree. Several emailed questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. The trees were well packaged and healthy. I rest assured that they offer a guarantee for the first growing season. Customer service is excellent - a follow up email from them checked if everything was ok, plus they remain at my disposal for further advice. I would definitely purchase again, their advice and after sales support is greatly appreciated.”
