My recent experience was at my local co-op, which is relatively small and located outside of town, offering good parking. This makes it attractive to the elderly who prefer a quieter environment to the hustle and bustle of typical supermarkets. I was in a rush and hadn't made a list, so I needed to concentrate. They were playing shrill music through poor-quality, echoey speakers that were located through the centre of the store, which was where it was loudest.  The final of the three pieces of music was a Soft Cell song that was so loud and shrill I had to stop for a second to consider whether this was normal and I was the problem.  I thought there must be a way for me to block this sound from piercing into my brain so that it is ok to inflict this on people, but of course, I couldn't, so I considered abandoning my trolley and leaving, but I didn't have the time to go elsewhere.  I noticed all the other elderly customers had the most pained look on their faces.  The only one who looked like she was enjoying it was a lady in the biscuit aisle who was bopping away to it....seriously! I became angry and asked for the manager when I got to the tills, where it seemed slightly quieter because it was away from the speakers.  He was about to explain something about the staff, I interrupted, as I knew he was going to say that it was for the benefit and entertainment of the staff. I told him that if I wanted to go to a disco, I would visit the local nightclub.  Music in shops appeals to the lowest common denominator, which of course, is where society will end up.  Shops are ignorant in believing this keeps people in their store, spending.  I will never enter that store again, and I think that it is against my human rights to have to suffer this torture.   So distressed was I by the experience, I called my mother when I got home and via Alexa, I played the awful squealing music to her, and I immediately became panicked, tearful and could not breathe.  Why does society feel the need to fill every space with noise and visual distractions from devices like phones and Facebook clips?  No wonder there is a substantial mental health issue. I am not autistic, but so help me, anyone who shops there who is.

Never order a delivery. Twice my order just hasn't turned up at all. Disgraceful service.

Not happy that their delivery driver insisted on confirmation of my date of birth due to some beer in order. Despite it being obvious I'm over 50 years. Also, poor range of ready meals and their delivery charge has increased.

I spent £3.25 on the irristable Bakewell cake. Omg all I could taste was an overpowering sweetness. No subtle layering of flavours here just sickly sweet. Why would you make a cake so sweet that it dominates the palate.

Irresistible range Victoria Sponge. Not sure what’s happened to these as they used to be delicious, with plenty of filling. However, the last couple we’ve purchased have been dry, hard sponge with very little filling.. you definitely need a cuppa to get this sponge cake down the gullet as it clings to the inside of the throat. Not going to risk buying this a third time.

EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE! EXTREMELY PATHETIC AND INCOMPETENT! Firstly, there are long queues with only one person serving. Its basic common sense/pure logic to have a few customer service assistants be stationed at different at a few tills so to become more effective and efficient. Secondly, the team is very rude-''No thank you or please''. They have a patronising/condescending attitude! Thirdly, I have been overcharged twice for a product that I should have had a discount with my Co-op card!

I am absolutely disgusted at the way Coop treats its customers. ON two occasions during the past few weeks they have simply failed to deliver an online order since they made mistakes as to the address leaving me completely in the lurch. When I then asked for my order to be delivered they said that this was not possible - they would simply refund. This by far the worst service I have ever encountered and I would advise everyone not to rely on them.

We tried chocolate frangipan mince pies, they are awful... Stodgy no almond flavour, none of the moistness usually found in mince pies

Purchased ‘new’ range, generally I try something and if I don’t like it will never buy again. However this was just disgusting, meat/veg ratio to sauce was ridiculous and the sauce was like brown water (think I had three very small pieces of beef - one broccoli and about a million sliced pepper) And I suspect the designer of this has never eaten a teriyaki. Please avoid - put it this way I would have been disappointed if it was a ‘entry’ level item, however this wasn’t cheap

We bought 2 of the Irresistable Tika Massala meals which used to be in round trays but were now in square ones. Given the price, >£9.00 before discount, we assumed they would be the same quality. What a joke, they were absolutely terrible. The previous round packaged offering had really tender whole chicken fillets whereas the new square packed had small chicken pieces. The sauce in the new one, apart from being peppery, was virtually tasteless. It is a sad comment on today's economics where you get charged the same for sub standard rubbish and the Coop think you won't notice. A very dissatisfied customer

Sandwiches would be so much nicer if they had butter on the bread. Forced to eat them as part of the Meal Deal and dislike all the other Main options. Also, more basic British foods on the shelves, instead of all the foreign rubbish would be nice. Not everyone likes everything with spice added.
