Disk Smith was from a great company dropped down to be a scammer. It stolen my $129 from my PayPal account without my agreement. They embed something in their website to pass your checking without noticing you. Saying it's a membership. I'll told everyone I known about $129 for a Dick Smith membership for buying anything there. I will report this to ACCC for their scamming behaviors.

Bought a product worth $45 then 2 weeks later they took out $129 for a subscription I never signed up for. Keep away from them

I ordered an item for $13 and two weeks later my PayPal account is deducted another $129 from Dick Smith for Membership which is ongoing monthly. I never signed up for any membership and PayPal refused to honour the buyer protection policy so beware of ordering anything from Dick Smith.

Automatically signed up for subscription when purchasing on this website. Scam. Do not bother shopping here. They will try to hit your card with scam subscription you were not aware you authorised. I will never shop here again

For people who are scammed with the subscription try this link - apparently my refund is on the way and am no longer active member. See attached refund confirmation email. Hope this can help someone that was scammed like I did. https://www.kogan.com/account/dashboard/customer-care/sales-kogan-first/kogan-first-cancellation/kogan-first-renewal-cancellation/kogan-first-membership-confirm-cancellation/

Crooks do what they do, order something on their website and they opt you in with a pre ticked box on their website to deduct $129au that people have no knowledge about. This has being going on for so long in Australia and NZ why doesn’t ACCC outlaw this practice.

My issue is the same as every other complaint! I was deceived into paying $129 for an unsolicited First Membership! They created an account on my behalf after saving my details and charged to PayPal after 2 weeks! This is an appalling business practice, any such offer should be entirely separate from the purchase transaction and not luring unsuspecting consumers who are just looking to make a single purchase! In addition to demanding a refund, I’ve lodged a complaint with ACCC which I will NOT be withdrawing regardless. This is predatory and clearly a money spinner for them given the sheer number of complaints on multiple websites (please see review.com.au for more!).

Like many of the previous posts, I've been duped with an annual membership of $99 that I didn't want. Thinking this was a fraudulent transaction I called the bank and cancelled my card. It's insidious and deceptive business practice.

I ordered an item from Dick Smith then later on that day found out that they had signed me up on a First membership without my knowledge or authorisation to do so. Lucky I went back into my account and saw that I was signed up on a 14 day trial that I didn't know about which after the 14 days they would automatically bill me $129 for an annual membership that I didn't want in the first place. I have cancelled the trial membership that they signed me up for without my knowledge or consent with a sneaky pre ticked box that I didn't know about. What a dodgy company to do this to unsuspecting people.

Do not buy from this company. They have an automatic membership payment that if you fail to untick the box they will take $99 for no reason other than fake membership deals that you never asked for.

So dodgy, I think this site may have leaked my bank details to a scammer that used them to drain me of $902 to the Playstation store
