Sad to hear I have had a similar story to most. Perfectly working Iphone X not even a scratch, they offered a market matching quote and then halved it after receiving the item. Making up various things such as 'screen lifting from frame' and that parts needed replacing. When I asked for proof of these issues, they simply actioned a return of the phone to me instead and said they are sorry they couldn't help. Absolute joke and waste of time. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Absolutely raging that I didn't read these reviews before sending my perfect condition phone to these absolute scammers! Offered £153 and have dropped it to £100 for imaginary scratches on the frame! I have video evidence which I posted on social media of me packaging up the phone (I have a significant following) am awaiting their response to me asking for my phone back but they will defo be reported to trading standards, how they get away with this is a joke!

Got a phone from handtec a while ago, the screen was pretty glitchy when it arrived, but stopped after a while. After having the phone for a while, out of nowhere, the modem firmware went (face ID broke, signal wouldn't connect, screen went glitchy again, phone kept rebooting, wouldn't recognise a charger), which is a phone issue, not a user issue. I emailed handtec as it was still within it's warranty and sent it off to them, however they refused to replace the phone and tried to claim that everything that went wrong with it was my fault - even though i spoke to a phone specialist outside of the company and they informed me that i had not done anything wrong and it was completely a phone issue. They also took so long to reply to any of my emails, and didn't even update me about what was going to happen, I had to follow up to even find out if I was going to get my phone back. Awful, would never use them again

Similar to other reviews. Perfectly good iPhone 11 Pro that worked like new, been in a case from day 1 with no obvious chips, scratched etc offered over £300 then their ‘engineers report’ came back with scratches on side, chip on glass etc etc … describing things I hadn’t ever noticed - their reduced offer was £175. Immediately asked for phone back where they then offered £200, declined that and told them to get it back to me immediately. Had a dozen iPhones and never had issues with any recycle company - but these cowboys are the worst, avoid avoid avoid!

Quoted £330 for my iPhone 11, they then offered £140 after their checks - the phone was in very good condition. I emailed to say that I was disappointed with the service and wanted my phone back. They sent my phone back - which now doesn’t work at all despite never having problems before. Stay away from these scammers!!

Avoid Avoid - initial quote was reasonable, but engineer's report upon receipt did not reflect the condition of the phone when shipped and the resulting reduced offer was laughable; have requested return of device so it can be sold via a company who are willing to make an honest assessment of condition. Checking other recent reviews it seems this is a fairly common occurrence when selling devices, which is odd when they have so many positive reviews relating to the condition of the products that they sell.

Same here ridiculous offer on a perfect phone, totally made up issues. Asked for my phone back not replying to my emails. I will be taking them to trading standards if I don’t get it back. Avoid. I shall also be posting bad reviews on every site I can find every day if I have too. They need shutting down.

This company doesn't even deserve 1 star, absolute cowboys. Offer the highest price to draw you in and then drop the price once they have received the phone claiming there are scratches on the phone even though the phone looks like new. Don't waste your time with them.

Absolute scammers. They offered a high price, I sent the phone in it's box without a single scratch. They came back saying it was significantly scratched so slashed their price from £200 to £110. Luckily I had photos to prove them wrong and proves they just made that up. Criminal. And then they returned my phone without it's box. These people are sharks, avoid at all costs.

Absolute con/scammers. Sold my phone to them give me a price then once they received phone said it was damaged which was a lie. Finally got money after a week. Communication is rubbish can only do it through email and takes a day to get a reply. Worst people to sell phone to ever.

Avoid at all costs!! not even 1 star is deserved I wish I had read the reviews I was offered £202 for working with a cracked screen reduced to £60 saying all sorts of rubbish what an absolute con. I have asked for my phone to be returned I am just hoping it does not come back with additional damage!! Don’t waste your time with this company!

Do NOT Waste your time selling your phone to them. after i sent them my device they try to make an excuse about the battery not being good and phone having some dents and scratches so they dropped the offer from £420 to £313. anyway i asked them to return my phone and re-sold it to VENDI for £420 and £10 extra for sending the phone on 1st class delivery on same day they recieved my phone they immediately gave me the full money. thats my honest review.

Don't Buy Refurbished From Handtec AVOID, terrible customer service, no transparency and no communication. My partner purchased a refurbished iphone from them only 1 yr ago, suddenly it stopped receiving phone and data signal. He took it to the Apple store who ran a check on it and produced a report stating clearly there was no evidence of water damage or misuse and the fault was due to a hardware issue. A return was organised with Handtec and the phone was sent off with this report in the expectation that they would perform a professional investigation and offer either a replacement or at the very least some kind of voucher towards another purchase with them. We received no communication from Handtec apart from an automated email saying a parcel has been returned back to us. We were then told that in the 48hrs since we had posted this to them and they had returned the same parcel, they had apparently opened up the phone and found water damage was the cause of the loss of phone signal and data (despite nothing else being wrong with the phone). This was clearly bull**** and designed to put them in a position where we could not argue our case. Despite this we tried to contact customer services who just told us the same story about water damage without even asking for the details of our case (suspicious?!). We were told there was no way to speak to anyone more senior and that we could only email them, which we did, ensuring a copy of the report from Apple was attached, and got exactly the same response about water damage with all our questions left unanswered and ignored. Booked another appointment at the Apple store with the same phone that had been returned to us, explained the situation, and within 20 mins walked out with a new refurbished model. We will never again use Handtec and would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone else despite having otherwise had positive experiences with them in the past.

Absolute bunch of cowboys. They offer high, knock it down to a fraction of the price and then make it difficult to get your phone back. Offered me £420 for a nearly new iPhone, found 'significant scratches on the screen' and halved their quote to £200. Just want it back but now they're non responsive. Absolute bunch of cowboys. Avoid!

This company are a bunch of wide boys. I used a comparison site and handtec offered the most by a couple of quid. So I had them send one of their phone packages, followed the instructions, sent my phone and waited. After a few days they emailed to advise that my phone, used but perfect cosmetic condition (as it had, up until the day I sent it to handtec lived in the mother of all protective cases), had significant damage and was not worth the £85 offered but only £30. Well I emailed back, told them they were wrong, fraudulent and they could return my phone right now! To be fair they did.. and I left it in their packaging to send it to a company called WeBuyTek who had offered slightly less.... in less than 24 hours I had emails to say it had arrived, was being checked, that payment was on the way and that payment had arrived. So if you are looking for an excellent honest service I can personally recommend WeBuyTek and would definitely look to use them in the future. I would also advise to avoid handtec like the lying cheating plague they are!

I should have checked these review first...similar experience. They offered 120, so sent it off. The company claimed that there was a chip on Home button, which definately wasnt there, now revised to 15. I would take all possible cautions to deal with this company, taking photos before sending phones to them, otherwise, they would claim all they want.

My experience is an echo of the other reviews here. Wish I’d read these and some some research before I sent them my phone. Quoted £89, revised to £40 due to ‘chips on the frame’. Total BS, it wasn’t new but it was in decent condition. I would stay well away from these people in future.

Absolute crooks! Offered me £450 for my phone, that was in absolutely perfect condition all over, had been in a case with a screen protector and literally didn't have a single mark at all and then when they received it they said they were able to find a scratch on the back not visible to the eye but they were able to see it under a microscope using a UV light and they had revised my offer to £80, I am literally speechless beyond belief, never have I ever experienced such a terrible company in all my life, they do offer the most but these offers are FAKE and after seeing everyone else's reviews on here this confirms that their tactic is to lure you in with a false offer and then tell you they've found a scratch and are reducing the offer by 90% and if you don't respond to the email they will automatically put it through and keep your phone!

Terrible company to sell your phone, offered £450 for then to revise the offer and say there was loads of scratches which there was none at all, been waiting a week for my money to go into the bank and still nothing so I’d keep away at all costs.
