“Lemon chicken with coleslaw and salad, our chicken had lots of very small brocken bones in , it spoilt our meal and was quite a choke hazard. I did not finish my meal, I did tell the waitress but no-one came back to us. I was very dissapointed and will think again before returning.”
“Morning shift 13th October 2024 10am
One vile nasty member of staff can ruin a whole pubs experience. He went out of his way to be awkward, stepping in front of people, rolling his eyes, snapping at questions, commenting on private conversation and even making a thinly veiled threat
4 bar/floor staff on today. All guys.... 3 absolute darlings one didn't want to to be there and treated everyone with a ghastly attitude. Not sure where the accent was from but not UK. The other e were all British accents
The other 3 days of our trip were wonderful and visited each day for drinks and/or a meal.... the lady bar supervisor on 11th and 12th was great and her crew brilliant.
One BAD apple definitely ruins a pubs vibe
I run 2 "meet up" group and use various venues (even your hotels). Never had a bad thing to say before”
“My grandaughter loves the pizzas ....however on sat 8th july she found not one ....but 5 black hairs in her pizza she left it and didnt even want another i think thats it for life im so mad for her.....she saved the hairs and her mother told staff but nothings happened about it so far i wasnst there or would have done photos.”
“At St Ives Cambridgeshire today not really impressed. 2x Steaks for my family members were tasteless, unseasoned and stringy my own chicken burgher was so overcooked & dry it was inedible. On taking the 1st bite the base of the bun fell into 2 pieces. Needless to say won’t rush back”
“I had the Christmas dinner today, it was awful, preformed round turkey slices sliced from a roll, no roast potatoes no parsnips, a 1 inch carrot, plastic mash and far to much gravy, so disappointed.”
“Today I had a Tennessee burger at the King of Wessex. The burger its self was very dry.
Yesterday I had a burger in the Jolly Sailor this was also very dry.
Normally they are good so has the burgers supplier changed?”
“Barmaid was talking to another customer, her friend whilst serving me. I asked for cash back which I got. I asked for £30. She gave me a 20 and a ten. I asked if could have 3 tens. Reply was no I've shut my till. Then carried on talking to her m8. Found her to be rude. Didn't care. Normally get fantastic service but she let them down.”
“I have been going to the Quay in Poole since it opened and always enjoyed our weekly visits both food/drink and service.
Our last three visits were very poor in every aspect.
Lack of real ale choice, cold and poorly presented food. There was not even packets of salt.
You need to bring back food theme days offering the full range as before pre- Covid.
The lack of customers is a good indication that things are not right.
Ignore this review by a loyal customer at your peril.”
“As regular customers in the past,my wife and myself visited Wetherspoons at The Quay,Poole today.I had a beefburger which was quite tough, and was cold.I paid extra for cheese,on the beefburger. It was not melted - just a square of cold processed cheese dumped on top.
There was a discarded cigarette butt lying on the floor under our table !The floor in the gents toilet needed cleaning, and there was very obscene graffiti on the back of the WC door.
No body checked to see if we were happy with our food.
I am by no means an habitual complainer, but standards at Wetherspoons appear to have fallen dramatically.”
“Abraham Darby in Merry Hill has gone down hill. Staff rude and ignorant, look at you like your wasting their time when asked for help. Only came in for coffee & give 1 hour slot. Dirty cups, took 3 tries to get clean cups. Would not recommend this pub for bad, slow service. Ignorant, ill mannered staff.”
“We called in to Wetherspoon pub in Knaresborough for a coffee. Due to Coved 19 we expected to be registered by a member of staff on entering. NO- go look for your own registration form and fill it in. On leaving play “hunt the box for the registration form depositing”. It almost as far away from the exit as possible, on the bar, which we have been asked not to visit as staff would give table service. This meant customers were leaving without giving their details. Our other observations were-
Everyone touches -the coffee dispenser screen, -milk jug- tea bags, sugar bags & stirrers- manuals hand sanitizer dispenser.
STAFF- non wore face masks or gloves, yet they were attending numerous tables, bar and meal service area. Handling meal plates, cups and glasses. Replacement cups handled by staff with no protection. Magazines and leaflets left on tables for all to handle and share. Finally the ordering app is very time consuming. It took longer to order the coffee than drink it. And it was still self service!!!
The experience did not make me think Wetherspoon were taking the protection of staff and customers seriously.”
“First visit to the chequers in Stourbridge we very rudely asked to drink up 10-10.second visit arrived at 10-30 the doors were locked. Quite a few disgruntled customers outside. The website clearly states that they are open till 12-00 am. Will not be visiting again. We will go somewhere we are welcome.”
“Be alcohol aware. Do you feel like your drinking too much? Do you wish you could cut your alcohol consumption? Do you feel like alcohol is consuming your life? If the answer is yes and you really want the answer then simply download the free wetherspoons app. The wait dramatically reduces your alcoholic intake.”
“Visited to day at the Shakespeare London and ordered a large breakfast and a mushroom benedict. 25 mins after order turned up and was cold. Sent it back. Waited 15-20 again to get a send lot. But bus not much better. Even the plates were cold. By this time was so hungry just ended up eating”
“As a long time customer of Wetherspoons I was overjoyed when they opened a newplace in our town. But now I'm seriously considering moving my custom elsewhere. Why? Because Wetherspoons coffee machines keep braking down, the coffee is often cold, some supplies are unavailable even a week after I mentioned it to their staff and the disabled toilet is most of the time occupied by the non-disabled.”
“The food was lukewarm the gammon was a lot of gristle the peas are gone hard and the chips were soggy and one of the eggs look like it been in a fight and lost my friend had fish and chips and 100 the fish had very little fish and was burnt at the top we've eaten here before the place was updated and it was good I could not see that anymore and when I told a member of staff the reply was so I'll let the kitchen know very disappointed it was better before the three huts was modernised”
