"Will refuse all price matches despite them telling you they will honour it. \r\nAmazon were selling the same item for \u00a3504.99 vs John Lewis who was selling it for \u00a3699. Chatted with their customer service before purchase who confirmed they would price match Amazon. \r\nOrdered the item but the price match was refused because they don't match \"trade prices\". Clarified to them that Amazon price is a retail price not a trade price (which is a business selling to another business).\r\nThey changed tack and said oh we mean trade-in price. Clarified to them that Amazon was not offering the trade-in deal, John Lewis was and \"trade price\" is not the same as \"trade-in\" price. \r\nDespite clearly being in the wrong they refused to budge. \r\nDidnt even apologise, just said return the item and order from amazon if you want.\r\n\r\nImagine - they think customers are stupid enough not to know the difference between the terms \"trade price\" and \"trade-in price\". \r\nClearly illegal - misleading and false advertising to customer. \r\nJohn Lewis have gone so far downhill I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole now!"

"I bought a washing machine from John Lewis online. It arrived OK and their guys \"installed\" it. They left with it running on a short wash to prove that it worked, but it refused to drain, giving an error message. After a very long wait on the phone they arranged for their guys to come round following week (yes a whole week later)\r\nAfterwards I checked their plumbing and found that they had connected the drain hose without cutting the end off the connector on the sink waste fitting!\r\nObviously theyre using staff who are both unqualified and untrained. I connected it properly myself, having to buy a clip that should have been provided.\r\nTwo or three phone calls later asking them to cancel their visit without success. So they will turn up first thing in the morning regardless -the same clueless pair as before?\r\nA huge stress and a waste of my time (and money -long phone calls at my expense and the installment fee of \u00a330 for their total botch up)\r\nA website that takes you round in circles and no option to make a complaint.\r\nIf I could give zero or minus stars then I would.\r\nI will NEVER buy anything from J Lewis again and I advise everyone to avoid them. BE WARNED!"

"Purchased a John Lewis ANYDAY cocktail shaker a week ago in the Cardiff store, went to use it, but it leaks and goes everywhere when shaking cocktails.\r\n\r\nWent to return it to store it was purchased in the following week, but due to not having a receipt as not provided at purchase they refused a refund or exchange as their John Lewis ANYDAY range product \"could have been purchased from anywhere\", so they don't know if it is their product. (which is a breach of the consumer rights act 2015)\r\n\r\nThe same cocktail shaker was still being sold at time of return, and is still being sold on their shelves as part of their own range, but they were not interested in this.\r\n\r\nI went home and followed the website process to submit a complaint by phone and was told I can't, and have to submit an email form.\r\nI submitted the form where it provides a case number and says you'll have an update in approximately 24 hours, or to call a number to speak to them straight away, so I did and was told I can't speak to them, so when asking if their website was wrong she refused to confirm, I asked to speak to a manager and she wouldn't put me through to one but insisted she wasn't refusing before putting me on hold for 20 minutes."
