There was an issue with one of the carpets I ordered but they didn't bother to let me know there would be a significant delay - it took for me to contact there numerous times to find out. Waited weeks to have it fitted, and now that it has, it smells of cigarette smoke and is awful - four days on and the smell is not abating. Have emailed Head of Cust. Services twice but no response. So disappointing - would not recommend JL for carpets of customer care. Dreading last carpet being fitted this week.

I purchased an Electrolux washer JLWM1437 from JL in January2018 and so far have had to have engineers out three times, my latest ordeal was being told I must have misused it and my drains must be to blame because twice I have reported the smell. I have also had 2 detergent draw fronts come off. I am over 70 and have bought my appliances from JL for years and have never had a callout before on any guarantees on washers I have purchased, nobody touches the washer only me. I was told to do a 90 degree wash which lasted hours with no clothes in to clear the smell and the last time the hose underneath was adjusted and I am waiting now to see if the smell comes back and was told the engineers will not come out to a smell again. I have never been so frustrated and upset with anything like this.

Purchased TV from John Lewis in February 2018. . Noticed within a week the sound kept going, the TV was repaired for that fault but was returned with another fault. Have been trying to resolve the matter with John Lewis who after 4 weeks are saying it’s a software problem which their 5 year warranty does not cover (how convenient). The people at John Lewis who answer your call are pleasant, full of apologies, even admitted I have been given the run around but have not resolved the issue. No one seems to read your notes,a different person rings you back every time or if you ring them it is some one different and you have to explain everything again and still not get a resolution. After four weeks of to and fro-ing I have now been told I have to deal with manufacturer even though television is under six months old!,Very, very poor customer service. First item I have ever purchased from John Lewis and most certainly won’t be buying from there again.

John Lewis Milton Keynes. Understaffed and undertrained staff with an attitude problem. The staff roam in packs acting as though they are superior individuals and will engage in conversation with you only under duress and any request elicits a response akin to doing a highly unwilling favour. I have no idea why as they seem incapable of managing inventory levels or acquainting themselves with the features of the equipment they sell unless a Brand Representative is around (who they also behave rudely to). You will get more useful information from the product label on the shelf, as they read this and then repeat it back. Incorrectly too on one occasion. The on-commission brand staff are much better to talk to generally than anyone who is an actual John Lewis employee. The attitude problems among store management must be awful if this is the effect they have on the shop floor staff. I was not surprised to see many people looking with the Amazon app running on their phone.

Customer Service, Made to measure, and orders team do NOT communicate properly. I paid for my order early March (we are in May 2018), nobody can still figure out if my the fitting was paid for (it was) and keep throwing the ball at each other. Order still not fitted as nobody seems to care spearheading the service I have long paid for!

Customer services poor very much as the quality of their ladies wear. When you purchase you are told don’t worry any problems just return item not quite the same response when in store.

I've ordered numerous white goods and services over the years, and the decline has been steady. Customer service is slow and unresponsive, goods are often damaged when they arrive. Acting on warranties can take weeks to make trivial repairs.

If you are looking for a sewing and embroidery machine - don’t bother going to John Lewis as they have a very poor selection, and no demonstration facilities.

The item purchased and installed was faulty. That in itself was unfortunate but I was deeply disappointed at the lack of customer service to arrange replacement. Original purchase 9 Jan, still not resolved. Staff are helpful but restricted by rigid system AND irritating verging on pastronizing with constant use of pacifying phrases

The products are fine. The packaging and postage and speed is terrific. But the customer service is incredibly slow and comprehensively incompetent. Nobody will read your emails, and they will never reimburse the objects you return. Just don't even try to send anything back. They suck.

I ordered a set of headphones from John Lewis online for £99. The sound quality was awful so I returned them to my local John Lewis store. I was told when I returned them that I should get a refund within 72hrs. After a week I was still waiting for my refund so I contacted their customer service team and was told it could take up to 14 days for a refund to be processed. After 17 days I contacted them again and was told they would investigate. After 20 days I complained again, as I had heard nothing from them, and copied their head office. I eventually got a phone call telling me they would finally process my refund. Terrible customer service and nobody seemed to know what was going on. They have really gone down hill in recent years.

Ordered pair of lamps - when unpacked the tall lamp’s wire had been cut therefore needed to rewire and the large white lamp shade had marks on it. Sent email to complain but not had reply as yet

Very helpful staff in shop sold me two mattresses - one for my daughter one for us. Delivery times were booked and both have been missed. My daughter's was two hours early so she missed them. I was phoned at exactly the time the delivery was due to say the driver was over his allowed hours. How can that be, if the schedule was for him to deliver then? It makes no sense. I like the shop, the staff are helpful, the products good. But the delivery service is rubbish.

Not good customer service when it comes to delivery. I was given a 2 hour slot the night before, was not met and the call centre representative effectively said tough luck. I suspect the 2 hour time slot is an attempt to sound good but the times given are a work of fiction and there is no effort to meet them.

Bought a mattress topper in October which is very comfortable. Needed to wash it as I spilt a cup of honey and lemon and some drops wet the edge of the topper. I decided to handwash rather than giving it a thorough and complete immersion wash. The wetted part developed a zebra skin pattern of mid brown staining. When I took it back they told me that there was nothing that they could do as it was my fault and that the cotton seeds in the padding had leached colour. Very annoyed as no mention of colour leaching cotton seeds on label.

Tried to order travel money online. Stuck at processing and called assistance to be told their system not really compatible with Apple Macs and safari. Couldn't order over phone and told to go to a bureau. Live in rural Wales and none for miles. Disappointed and angry.

waiting for a microwave to be delivered, the courier firstly couldn't find the address then said it was refused by a person ive never heard of !and that it would be delivered the next day ,didn't hear anything so decided to give courier company a call, was told that the address was incomplete!!! and that the parcel would be delivered on Tuesday. Gave John Lewis Customer service a call, they assured me that the delivery address was correct, was sorry but the microwave would be redelivered on Tuesday because of the bank holiday, that's no good to me, I wanted the microwave for the weekend, couldn't pick up a replacement from the store until the other one is returned, was any of this my fault!NO. feel very let down by all parties involved, that will teach me for being loyal to John Lewis!why are you not using your own transport, next time I will try Argos same day delivery.
