I went to an evening shopping event for loyalty card holders and it was one of the best shopping experiences I've ever had. I hate shopping, it is a necessary evil. Imagine being so rich where you can close a store allowing only family members in to shop, this was it. The service was fantastic with cava and canapés, everyone should shop like this!

Very poor customer service at John Lewis Reading. I bought a laptop which had various problems in 3 months but I received little or no support from the team leader, wrong information given me by an employee. Go buy a laptop somewhere else.

Great service as always from John Lewis when I recently purchased a new suitcase. The sales assistant was very helpful and went through all the options, pro's and cons and didn't push us towards the more expensive options.

I have a local Waitrose near me, so I love John Lewis' click and collect service. It enables me to order things on the John Lewis website and then collect them at Waitrose, usually by the next day! Saves me waiting at home for deliveries and if I am working or out, I can just pick up the delivery at my convenience once it arrives. Very efficient and convenient so far! Thank you John Lewis and Waitrose!

Always reliable and with prices that match other shops. Good reward scheme on credit card and tokens for free coffee and cake which are always appreciated.

Price on item label was less than price I was charged, John Lewis would not honor the price marked on the box.

Excellent service from J.L. Free and speedy delivery and FREE returns. Items so well packaged and a good range of products to choose from. In my case I ordered my favourite 'Gabor' sandals and they had a wide range and nearly all of the sizes-and that's rare!

I bought a car seat. The sales assistant showed me how to fit it, talked through all its features and went out of her way to answer my questions. I felt confident that I had the right seat for my baby.

I purchased a vacuum cleaner recently from John Lewis. The technical staff were most helpful and the price was much better than other stores. Home delivery was free and delivered on time with notice.

Bought a sofa from John Lewis two years ago. After a year of having the sofa the fabric started to go bobbly which has progressively got worse to the point where I have now contacted them to see what they can do about this after only having the sofa a short period of time. Their response: It is now out of the guarantee and this is down to general wear and tear on the fabric, this would not be covered by our inspection and John Lewis would not be taking this any further. Known for their quality products and good customer service are they!? What kind of guarantee do they offer of a sofa isn't even under guarantee after only two years! Three misleading quotes from this 'high quality' retailer to further add to their non existent aftercare: "All our fabrics exceed the British standard rub test, ensuring longevity" 2 years is classed as 'longevity' for a sofa!? "Our covers are overlocked inside and out, so they won't fray and will last longer" "Last longer"....don't even last a year! "Seat webbing is pulled to the same tension on all products, to make sure the seat wears evenly, no matter how you sit on the seat pad" Complete lie Don't make the same mistake I did and fall for their false customer commitments. You'll pay over the odds for something you can get elsewhere for much cheaper and with better after care
