The toy Fisher-Price Poppity Pop Musical Dino, Ref: 110716, does not work the bounce mechinsim did not work, balls did not bounce. I bought it few months ago and returned it. Even opened another one from the shop floor in store put my batteries in nd it didn't work the bouncing. There's a fault with these, the store advised me this would be pulled and manufacture informed, however these are still being sold, how strange. Really loved the toy and wanted a working one, shame I had no option but to return it and get the bright stars popping toy frog which is much smaller.

Lovely design and make, my girl was happy with it at first, until she heard the song and then I heard it too and it went downhill from there… The song it plays is completely inappropriate for my 6yo, could not believe my ears when I heard the lyrics, this shouldn’t ever be added to a child’s toy, repulsive content. My fault for not reading the “product description” thoroughly as it clearly states what song it plays, but it didn’t even occur to me such mature content would ever be added to a kids’ toy…I don’t want my child humming and singing such an inappropriate song, and won’t be able to use this, so disappointing!

I bought a child bicycle from Smyths Toys and they have given incomplete product as some parts of bicycle specially pedals were missing. To my surprise, instead of owning and taking responsibility, Smyth Toys customer care have careless attitude and even after 10+ mail exchanges or n number of chat or contact form filled neither they are picking up the bicycle nor refunding the money. It's shame companies like these are running scams openly.

Visited this afternoon from out of town. Not familiar with the lay out and asked for help as wasn’t really sure what I was looking for. Had the good fortune to meet Chris. He knows the stock well and was able to guide me to the products that best suited my needs. He was patient, helpful and knowledgeable. Not once, but four times! Needless to say I bought more than I had planned to. Happy shopper!

Visited your Chelmsford store yesterday and Kerrieann who served us was so lovely. We'd taken our daughter in for a present as she'd had a had time at the hospital and Kerrieann served us with such joy and was so kind to our daughter it really made her day. Thank you so much for going that extra mile.

I visited and found great toys for my 3 year old granddaughter. Great prices, great selection of topshelf toys and learning gifts. Also staff were great at the Croydon/Purley store. Shout out to 'Kim' who was fun, helpful and a breath of customer service fresh air. I visitied on 17 March 2026.

Bought a turtles, mutant mayhem sewer playset. Missing many components to build it and unable to complete it - don’t have the receipt for this still so nothing I can do as separate parts are not issued - very disappointed that this play set is missing so many items for the price it cost - £70 wasted

I visited the castle vale store last weekend after almost two months and had a really unpleasant experience with one of the managers, Subhash. I went to the tills with three items to return and a purchase to make. I said hello, but he offered no customer service at all. As soon as I mentioned the returns, he kept repeating “not for you,” which made no sense and left me shocked. I left to check Smyths’ return policy and my rights, then went back in to try again. He still kept repeating “not for you,” then snatched the items off the counter and said angrily, “I’ll do it on this occasion, don’t ask me again.” When I tried to show him on my phone that I’m a regular customer, he told me not to show him my phone. He even threw his hands up when I paused to let him enter the order number. To this moment, I still don’t understand why he was so aggressive. His behaviour made me feel extremely uncomfortable, and I honestly don’t want to be served by him again. It has completely put me off visiting this store in the future.

I bought Split Fiction for Switch 2 from Smyths Toys Plymouth. I knew it was a digital download, but at no point before purchase was I informed that it would be non-returnable once opened. The restriction was only printed on the receipt, which I saw after paying. A sign was later pointed out to me, but it wasn’t visible at the time as a staff member was up a ladder blocking it. When I returned to the store, I was polite and calm, just asking if anything could be done. The manager, Dave, treated me as confrontational from the start and unnecessarily called over security despite no aggressive behaviour from me. I even made clear I wasn’t blaming him, just raising a concern. Dave admitted that he sometimes does make exceptions to the return policy if the box is sealed — showing the policy is flexible, but chose not to do so in my case. This made the refusal feel inconsistent and unfair. I left feeling dismissed and intimidated — not because of the policy itself, but because of how I was treated for raising a valid issue about lack of clear information before purchase. Very poor customer service from a major retailer.

DO NOT BUY the Gui Gui slime. Me and my kids found it to be sticky stain our hands and smell so artificial, we had to open a window. My daughter is heartbroken after spending her birthday money on this.

Preordered a PS5 game to get it straight after release. 3 days on still no sight of it. The only thing that happened on time was the charge to my credit card. Very poor customer service.

Unfortunately, today I had a terrible experience. Around 4 PM, I was at the Staples Corner store with my husband and my two children. While my older son was looking at toys with his father, I was with the baby. We were walking around the store and my baby was wearing non-slip socks. We passed an employee who was unpacking some toys, and she said that my baby shouldn't be allowed to walk down the aisle because he was in socks. I continued walking and looking at the toys, knowing that he wouldn't fall or hurt himself. Unsatisfied, she followed me and my baby down the aisle, asking for permission and telling me to pick him up off the floor. I kept walking, looking for my husband to make our purchase. She came up behind me, poked me quite rudely, and shouted to not let my baby walk. As a mother, I knew what was best for him and told her that it was none of her business and not to worry.I went to the store to shop, but all I could think about was how rude and disrespectful she was, and how she treated me poorly. As a mother, I felt invalidated. She was not professional at all.

Staff are racist against Asian minorities and will discriminate. The experience I had was that they did not want to sell a product to my family and I because of a group of Chinese that people in the morning, they said “ we are treating you guys this way because before you a Chinese man was recruiting people to buy the limited product” when my family had only just walked to the counter we were met with “ NO I’m not selling to you guys” immediately. Of Course we was confused. The manager is very rude and degrades people over how they spend their money at the toy store not only this but is also sexist against women.

Avoid buying from Smyths , I recommend purchasing from Amazon instead where you have a no questions asked return/ refund policy, I bought an arcade claw machine from Smyths in Portsmouth, played it with the grandkids on Xmas day worked for five minutes then stopped working and claw become jammed, it worked again then stopped , this was frustrating as the chain on the claw kept getting jammed and then I gave up, not fit for purpose , issue is intermittent but ruined the experience , unusable. I took it back to the shop and kindly requested a refund after waiting at the till for 15 mins as there was no other counter showing the customer service sign. The store manager then approached and told me to go and queue up at the click and collect counter Which was another queue which looked 15 minutes long. I told him the problem it didn’t work and was intermittent and the claw kept getting jammed, he made wait another 10 mins while he went to get batteries and tested it , In this case the customer isn’t right , I felt like he was mistrusting of my claim, He was completely reluctant to take my word for it. I asked him to keep testing it until he found the problem which he did , he then reluctantly gave in and gave me a refund. Terrible customer service and non-existent after service Don’t take the risk buying from smyths , I advise you to buy from Amazon where the refund policy is exceptional . High Street shop retailers wondering why they go bust and bankrupt when they treat customers like this, Argos is actual good but not smyths is very poor , I will always shop at Amazon where the after sales refund policy is exceptional. What would’ve happened if the problem was intermittent as I explained and it did work in the shop, Smiths would’ve Refused a refund. Never again, will I go near the shop. I spent another £200 at Christmas with them as well. They won’t be getting any more business from

An item ordered well before Xmas delivery cut off date was never delivered. They kept saying wait a few days for courier to clear backlog. This was a lie because same courier delivered later orders with no problems. Ended up with a disappointed daughter on Xmas day

IT IS HIGHLY RIDICULOUS POLICY AND ONE THAT I WILL BE TAKING TO SOCIAL MEDIA BECAUSE TO HAVE A POLICY WHICH STATES NO RETURN IF ITEM IS OPENED IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!! MY SON WANTS TO RETURN AN ITEM HE PURCHASED FOR £109.99 AND THAT HE BOUGHT LAST NIGHT!!! HOW WAS HE SUPPOSED TO CHECK IF THE ITEM WAS COMPATIBLE WITH HIS GAME CONSOLE IF HE DIDN’T OPEN AND TEST IT???????? AND THEN TOLD GO TRY SELL IT SOMEWHERE ELSE????? PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME????? This is taking ADVANTAGE OF CUSTOMER RIGHTS ABD THIS MEANS THAT SMYTHS TOYS IS ONLY CONCERNED WITH PROFITSSS AND NOT THE CUSTOMER!!! HE WANTS TO MAKE AN EXCHANGE AND PURCHASE THE ITEM WHICH IS MORE EXPENSIVE FOR HIS CONSOLE AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THAT A MANAGER WOULD MAKE THE EXECUTIVE DECISION FACILITATE THIS. AT STAPLES CORNER LOCATION. Because according to my consumer rights the item purchased had to be “Fit for purpose” that is- The goods you buy should be fit for purpose. Fit for purpose also means the item must be fit for the specific purpose you told the seller you needed it for. So, if you buy a printer and you made clear it needs to be compatible with your specific laptop, but you discover they are incompatible, the printer is not fit for purpose – even if that printer will work perfectly with other laptops In this case he bought a steering wheel which was not fit for purpose or the console he has and this is returning it to exchange for the one that is! Based on the lack of advice by the employee who sold him.
