Terrible aftersales. Sold a faulty product, returned to store to be repaired, collected and still faulty. Sent numerous emails and still awaiting a response.

I had it this morning lol went to Smyth's picked up a chase Porsche and 2 Barbi kombis, whilst walking towards the till a member of staff tried to say they aren't allowed to be sold yet and started reeling off some bullsh*t about how they need to be put out by himself as he is the only staff that has knowledge on them. I laughed to the point of tears paid and put a polite complaint with the manager Scalpers really grind my gears lol more than anything else in the HW collecting hobby. And more so when the scalpers are staff members. An absolute disgrace.

Razer Kaira X Xbox Heard. Well what a pain the service was from Smyths. Required a new set of headphones for my sons pc, he liked the Razer Karia and seen these ones online at smyths. We went to smyths and asked the sales person to have a look at these headphones, even though it states for xbox it also stated on the box that they are compatible for pc aswel. The sales person confirmed this and advised "yes they will work on Pc". We got them home and my son could not wait to unbox them. Immediately my son said he had audio through them but his mic was not working, I thought this was a fault with the headphones. I returned back to Smyths and spoke with another sales person explaining the issues I was having. He tested them on his mobile phone (not PC) and low and behold he got the microphone to work on his phone. The sales person said as the headphones were worker on his phone he was unable to offer any further assistance and stated that this would have to be done through Razer. Two so-called sales assistants down and still neither of them new anything regarding the products they are selling. I took them home and done some further research myself. A look on Google and I found that these headphones require an xbox one stereo adapter to allow them to work on Pc, something that was never picked up or advised by Smyths sales personnel. Took them back to Smyths and explained that I was sold these headphones as being compatible with Pc but was never advised you needed adapter as the sales assistants I previously dealt with did not know this. Full refund was given the third time round as I provided the evidence. What a pain......

Make sure that you are sure of what you are buying on click and collect if it is a nursery product at the Llandudno store. If you open the box and it is the wrong item they will not let you return it!

I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Smythis (Lakeside, Thurrock) that left me questioning their integrity and customer service. The store was advertising a seemingly attractive deal of "2 for 20" on Nintendo Switch games. Little did I know, this was just the beginning of a disastrous shopping encounter. Upon reaching the cashier, my excitement quickly turned to frustration when one of the games rang up as a whopping £35 instead of the advertised 2 for £20. I approached Mia, the store manager, to address the issue. To my disbelief, she was not only rude and patronizing but also insinuated that my party had placed the "2 for 20" tag on the £35 game ourselves. How insulting and deceptive! Whats even more shocking. Mia, in a move that reeks of unprofessionalism, surreptitiously removed the "2 for 20" label herself and attempted to act as if it had never been there. This blatant attempt to cover up their misleading pricing was nothing short of appalling. We were not looking for a handout or asking her to honor the deal; all we wanted was to be treated with respect. We had spent nearly £200 in that store, and Mia's treatment made us feel like criminals. It's disheartening to encounter a manager who not only lacks professionalism but also seems to have no regard for customer satisfaction. On a positive note, I must commend Laura, the cashier, who was a shining example of friendliness and helpfulness. In fact, I strongly believe that she would be a far more suitable candidate for the role of store manager, as opposed to Mia, who clearly lacks the necessary skills to handle customer interactions. In conclusion, my experience at Smythis (Lakeside, Thurrock) was marred by deceptive practices, disrespectful behavior from the manager, and an overall lack of professionalism. It's a shame that such a poorly managed establishment tarnishes the reputation of what could otherwise be a decent store. I would caution anyone considering a visit to this store to think twice before doing so.

My low score is aimed at your online customer services! In September I applied for a toy catalogue in readiness for Christmas. It didn’t arrive despite applying several times thereafter. I emailed and explained I’m disabled and unable to get into a store. They ignored that point completely and issued their generic reply, it must have got lost and go into the store?? Did they even read my email? I have previously ordered from you online but given your reply to my concerns it’s obvious you do not appreciate your customers enough to bother doing my Christmas shopping with you. Disappointing!

I bought two kid's scooters, but unfortunately, one of them had a faulty lock mechanism. The latch broke after the very first use, as it was already quite stiff and hard to unfold the scooter when it was brand new. I tried to fold the scooter to put it in the car, and the latch broke. The next day, I went to the Charlton store to return the scooter, as it was already faulty when we purchased it. However, I was told that it was our mistake and that we could not return it.

My Husband bought me a Garmin Venu Sq watch from Smyths Toys Reading. When I went to set up the gift, it was missing a charger. I called the Reading store and was told I would need to bring in the receipt, watch and box and they would exchange it. By then I had already personalised my phone, so I said I just wanted the cable, which they declined. I contacted their customer services. I was told they could send one out if I sent an email with all my details and photos of the receipt, watch etc. I did this and I got a reply back saying they didn't have the part so I would need to contact Garmin direct. I suggested that they send me the part from another box and contact Garmin themselves to replace that one. I had an email back saying that Garmin had insisted I would need to contact them myself. I can't believe how hard it is to get a charging cable, which should have been in there in the first place. Absolutely useless and puts me off buying from the store again.

This company is a joke. I ordered a kid's toy (for a Birthday) nearly 10 day ago - nothing has arrived. They have failed to reply to my email chasing the item. It is impossible to get through to their HQ in Galway in Ireland - by phone, everything single option on the automated phoneline system takes you to a recording that fobs you off and then cuts out. Disgraceful. It says you can cancel a 'pre-order' I.e. when you order and pay and then it turns out they don't have the item in stock - why on earth is that information not given in advance - simply saying 'out of stock'. Instead you pay for the order and they then put you on a 'pre-order' waitlist. It's impossible to cancel the 'pre-order'., (even though they make out it is easy). Awful, awful. Avoid, avoid.

Absolutely disgusted with the level of customer service and how they deal with a customer compliant at Oldbury Smyths Toys! If I could give a negative 1 star review I would! Our 8 year old son used all his birthday money to by a G Star Electric scooter! We got it home and it had a burning smell to it when it first went on charge! Then when he tried it for the first time it shot across our living room nearly causing a serious injury to him! It says it is suitable for age 8+! He is a confident 8 year old who is used to handling Go Karts, quad Bikes etc… but in our opinion this electric scooter is totally unsafe with only one speed setting! We have asked for our money back and Smyths have refused! They took the scooter off us and tested it and said they can’t see anything wrong with it but I’ve explained this is an unwanted gift! Our son no longer wants it as doesn’t feel safe and wants his £129.99 birthday money back! The supervisor of the store was a vile woman who actually laughed in our faces when we asked to return it! And this was in front of our son! We have complained to customer services and still getting nowhere! We now have NO scooter as the store still has it and NO money back! We are totally disgusted by this store and our son is so upset and no longer wants to shop there! Smyths are still refusing to give us our money back and they still have the scooter they took off us to apparently check to see if it is working okay! I am seriously considering taking this matter to the papers!

Merryhill branch Bought a child's bike- ex-display model so slightly discounted. My expectations of ex-display is maybe marked, scuffed etc but still in working condition. Both tires were flat so asked for them to be pumped up. Shop staff said they would be and they would do a full check on the bike. 2 days later the back tire is flat, clearly a puncture. The child had been at his dad's house during this time and not even ridden the bike yet. I phoned the store and told them the bike they sold me has a puncture and was asked to bring it back so they could look at it and fix it. This was a Monday evening and earliest I could return with work hours and their opening times was Saturday, so I told them would return Saturday morning. Returned the bike as soon as the store opened, the staff member pumped it up then checked again after 10 mins and confirmed it did have a puncture and they would repair it for me. She then told me it would not be ready until Monday. She took my number and said as soon as it was repaired someone would call me Monday. Lunchtime on Monday I call the store to get an update as to when it will be ready. It wont be done today it will be done tomorrow morning, the manager will do it themselves before the store is open. Half term week and one child is without a bike. I could have repaired it myself in way less time but I don't expect to have to repair a brand new product. So I spoke to a manager, who was very polite in tone but told me they didn't have any bike build staff working Sat or Sun and had been way too busy to do it today. He said he didn't know where I got the idea it would be ready Monday, his staff member is right here and did not tell me Monday she just told me someone would call me when it was done. At this point I had enough of his lies. She clearly told me Monday, if she had not I would had asked for when I could collect before leaving it at the store. Had I known it would be more than 3 days to repair a puncture I would have asked for a refund then. They had the bike and my money and were going to repair it at their leisure. Told the manager I wanted my money back. I drove over to the store got my refund and went elsewhere to purchase a bike. The child is now happily riding his new bike from somewhere else, maybe the one they refunded me will be repaired tomorrow?

Sorry that i feel the need to leave such a negative review re this store, but after purchasing yet another Nintendo game for my son, which was 'not' a cassette game, but 'download' instead, which had me initially scratching my head, as i only buy these games for my 7yr old son, but after having gone back to the store to explain my position, i was informed by the operative who served me (Greenford UB6 OUW), i was rather 'condescendingly' told that it was my responsibility to make sure that the purchase was not a download, to which i replied that it had always had been explained to me 'before-hand' by the sales operative if the game was a cassette or download, but the operative and his manager (Delroy) just ignored my reasoning that i it was their responsibility to point out whether the product was what i was after, and that as i am 'only' the person who buys the product, and that my 7yr old son 'only' plays them, and that it had 'always' been explained before-hand to us by the sales-operative what product was the correct one, which is 'good practice,' But no, they would not apologise or even swap the game over, hence my negative review and decision to go elsewhere in future for my sons ga.ing needs, Very rude, unhelpful, timewasting, inconsiderate and unprofessional ethics as far as i am concerned and i guesstimate we have spent close to £1000 in 2yrs with this company, So their loss in the long-run AFAIAConcerned.

I was mis-sold an Xbox series X game which would not work on my child's Xbox series s. When I took it back to the shop the child behind the counter they refused to return the game so I could buy the correct one. I have a disappointed child and I am out of pocket. Do not buy computer games from the charlatans.

If I could give a zero rating, I would. The customer service online has been absolutely abysmal. Ordered almost £100 of games online on 27th November. They went to Evri the following day for delivery. It is now the 11th December and still no sign of the order. The tracking today still shows it's with Evri, but absolutely nothing has happened since the order went to them on the 28th November. Smyths just say to wait as Evri is inundated, which I can believe with all of the Royal Mail strikes. But there have been no updates or apologies from either Smyths or Evri. Will never order with them again.

Placed order. Emailed to arrange collection. No reply. Order cancelled. When i complained i got a rubbish excuse, followed by, "I hope you have a great day and if you have any further queries, please be sure to get in touch." I won't be using Smyths Toys again.
