My Swytch conversion was on a Specialized hybrid bike and transformed it from an already quite light recreational bike into a very usable versatile e-bike. The conversion was reasonably straight forward but some mechanic skills are required however once completed it works straight away and setup was easy.

This kit works well on a step through beach cruiser bike. I little hard to fit on the round crank arms but still works well. My only complaint with Swytch is that I ordered my 2 kits in May of 2023 and did not receive all my parts and then received the wrong parts and the customer service is super slow so I was finally able to ride my bike 11 months from the date I ordered it. I was told I would have my complete kit in August of 2023 but that was postponed several times.

More tricky to fit than anticipated

Unfortunately the cables is too short and the wheel pin didn’t fit my front basket. Otherwise the function is working fine.

As my bike is so old, didn't know if it would work but it seems fine so far. Have a lung disease at 76 but wanted to continue pedalling around town so is allowing me to do that on the hillier bits. Still looks rather old and dilapidated but with the formidable front wheel hopefully disguised by deliberately decrepit look of rest of bike! (Expensive e-bike stolen after 6 months from inside locked facility + tethered by big lock to wall so very wary about getting another). A neighbour installed from the manual - pity to lose my kick stand - and a bit pricey - but it's been great to be able to transform my old Raleigh.

Everything is wonderful except for the battery capacity, which seldom provides me with a range of 15 km. Mostly less.

Easy to instal and operate. Pity they did not keep making the former longer range battery…is it’s wiring compatible with the most recent shorter range version? Current price of new 30 km battery restricts having a back up. Owing to demand there Is a product waiting list, however transparency of information from Swytch gave a realistic expectation of delivery. Prices of Swytch as with other world products are however rising.

I was warned by multiple cycle shops about installing the swytch kit who mentioned that they did not recommend it at all as it is a front wheel drive and not a back wheel one. I went through with it despite my apprehension, as I love a good bike ride but found hills and busy roads quite tough. I'm happy I did because it's genuinely been such a huge help and the pick up is very smooth despite the power being on the front wheel. I'm not bogged down or intimidated by hills, roads busy with cars or long distances anymore. Quite useful that I don't have to bring the whole bike all the way into the house to charge, as the battery is detachable. Also love the fact that there's 5 different speed modes to suit anyone's pace. Some of the marketing is quite misleading though. All videos and marketing allude to the fact that converting to the swytch kit is as easy as 1,2,3 but it's definitely not. The instructions on switching out the wheels and installing all the parts were not nearly as detailed as they should have been. You have to be a proper bicycle enthusiast or higher to even begin to understand how to do it. I had to watch a ton of independent YouTube videos, but then finally gave up and hired the only cycle shop in my area that was willing to install it. This was an additional £120 on top of the cost of the kit itself. Using the kit and the newly converted bike has been great so far, but I wish the marketing had been more honest and the instructions way more detailed. Another thing I'd have liked is to be able to purchase add ons after purchasing the bike. However, you can only purchase accessories as add ons while pre-ordering the kit itself, and not after. It would have been useful to have used the bike and then understand what I add ons I needed instead of the pressure of having to purchase them before I receive the kit and risking having made a wasted purchase, as these aren't cheap either. I haven't had any issues with the bike yet and overall it's a great product once you get past all the hurdles of getting it shipped and installed, but I hope the customer service team comes through if there is. When I had pre-ordered the kit, it took ages and ages to deliver and there was no response from the team when asked for an update. I finally got a shipping confirmation when I complained on a public post on Instagram.

Generally very pleased with the conversion and impressed with the company. However, I do find it difficult to judge how much battery power is left. The handlebar sensor lights never correspond with the battery lights. And does a spare battery really need to cost £350?

I found the kit easy to fix without any problems. Although my bike is quite heavy, it’s made of steel, the Swytch kit has no problem propelling it at a reasonable pace although it struggles on steep hills. I have no regrets buying the Swytch kit and strongly recommend it. Great value for money.

On the Brompton, an extra can is needed to get the sensor closer to the pedal sensor The advantage of this kit is that I can still carry the bike. The official e brompton is too heavy for me. The first support P1 could have been half as much. I have the accu on the other site of the steeringwheel (facing saddle) I am happy with the Swytch kit

Pretty slick system. Game changer for the steep hills nearby. Installation could have been smoother; had to file axle and lock washers to fit the drop outs on my not unusual bike.

Nice purchase. Not too complicated to install. Great for battling against the wind and slopes or when you have less energy. The only thing I would change would be the Air battery pack for the MAX! I recommend! L-A from Québec.

Kit is good, easy to install. Battery (bigger pack) doesn't last long, maybe 15-20km with some modest hills. Gearing on the bike is key, my 3 speed makes this ineffective in all but the lowest setting or you just spin the pedals; I still use it but hadn't contemplated this when ordering, and for this reason its not been a total game-changer for me.

The system is great, customer support is okay. Yet the max battery should do about 30km. In my case I only get 16-18km out of it.

Fairly easy to fit. Gives a good power boost, though I think I need to get a throttle control. The fork dropouts were rather tight, so a little judicious abrasive paper treatment helped. A few minor errors in the instructions but common sense interpretation sorted that. I pre-ordered for the 50 per cent discount, which was ok as I was prepared to wait six months during world supply problems of 2022.

Has been a blessing for my wife who broke a knee years ago with long-term mobility issues but she can now cycle as normal with the additional power that the Swytch kit provides

Some modifications required to fit but works well on Giant Expression step-through bike

Excellent conversion. The front dropouts were slightly too small and needed enlarging with an angle grinder, otherwise very easy to fit. Suggested improvements: a greater spread of the assist modes - the level one assist is rather too strong. The indicated range does not seem very accurate and often differs between the display on the battery and the display on the controller.
