The site pretty much sucks to sell on. I have a bunch of authentic items listed and I’m constantly getting offers that I accept but they don’t require a payment method on file so they just go nowhere. I think I’ve sold like four things in a year. It’s really a joke.

All communication with seller is banned. They so obsessed that people contact each other that don’t allow even to write about shipment issues and my purchases just go back to “happy” seller. Time wasted, not effective customer service.

Vestiaire is a great website, but there’s some glaring issues that see me using competitors, and spending my money elsewhere. I’m a man and buy mid tier priced items (ties, shoes, T-shirts etc). About 80% of sellers do not offer direct postage, authentication (especially to Australia) and dramatically varied postage costs, regularly see the price of items double. As an additional cost, it should be negotiable, but rarely is. As is dissuades a purchase, I can only guess that the authentication is a huge money earner for the website - and where a large chunk of their income is derived.

Absolutely unreasonable shipping cost charged by VC for direct shipment between buyer and seller. Refund timing different from their company policy. No explanation is given for the delay.

Not designed for selling. It is too difficult to post, ship, vet and wait for approval from buyers before you know whether an item has actually sold. Their vetting process leaves much to be desired. I listed an item as medium gray, which was flagged to a buyer because it was actually known as “Steele” or something officially by the mfg. l lost the sale twice bc buyers were only notified of the flag, not why. Impossible to “chat” and receive any cohesive answers, after a long lapse in initiating contact. Kept trying to get me to lower prices significantly though my items were selling for my desired and deserved price. All in all, I question the maturity of judgment of those behind the brand. I was continually encouraged to connect with interested buyers in more of a social media exercise than acting as a committed marketplace vendor. Vestaire may be a great venue for buyers, but not for sellers. They wasted too much of my time.

As a seller, I got my sale cancelled by the quality team and when I tried to understand what happened the customer service team had to escalate it as they didn't understand it neither (all the info was in a description the quality team didn't check at all). Customer service team takes ages to answer and their answers are never accurate or helpful, they pass the ball from one person to the other and can take weeks for one issue to be sorted. You get constantly banned from the chat as they use a robot to capture words as simple as 'my details' without reading the context. Considering their fees are that high would be expected a better service for sellers. I cannot give my opinion as a buyer.

I'm following up with your response below about the customs fees. All the information you have provided only applies to *Buyers* and not *Sellers*. As a seller, I was given *no* information on the buyer's location, nor was I given the option to choose a buyer based in the same country as I am, the UK. Only the buyer has the option to set the location filter that you mentioned. The team got back to me today with a screenshot of a FAQ page that was newly edited. The website only indicated "free of charge", before the staff hastily added new sentences to it to attempt to benefit your side. It wasn't until I enquired your staff to receive my item back for the fifth time that you decided to add that extra sentence there on the 19th of January. However, I have plentiful screenshots of the information I referred to as a seller at the time of the sale, and at the time I was enquiring you to return my item. I would appreciate your prompt assistance so I can finally have my item back without being liable for the international customs fees that the *buyer independently agreed to without my say*. Alternatively, I am happy to provide an EU address (if that is where the fees arise from) for us to both avoid the charges. Thanks, Salz

: I have sold Chanel sandals at a very expensive price and they never paid me, they keep saying that the payment was executed and that the funds should be in my account in 5 days and they never arrived, they dont have a contact number and their help center is HORRIBLE. They said they will revert back to me in 24hours and they never did. Worse experience of my life. I contacted them so many times and I sent emails but they never got back to me. Now I had to message the girl who bought my sandals (because there is absolutely no way I can reach them) and i asked her to message vestiaire.. the next step is to demand my shoes back.

Lately the service is terrible! They answer you just to respond but not to assist. I don’t know how qualified are their “experts “ but they rejected an item which is absolutely authentic-what’s more this item was previously approved and listed , but because I wanted to update some info about it I deleted it ( the site does not allow to make updates-you have to delete it and to list it again). So i wanted to list it again but it was rejected ( probably they were not in mood on this day and decided to reject ). Also they were holding payments which I had to receive for about 2-3 weeks as out of a sudden they decided to verify my profile ( exactly after I sold my items and I had to collect my money). They requested proof of address and did not provide some clarifying information about it which made me confused and unable to provide the requested documents-even after I spoke few times with their agents and explained my issue they also did not clarify the misunderstanding. That’s why I am saying they answer without any intention to help, but just to respond!Have to search for a better alternative to sell my items

I have been waiting for THREE WEEKS for payment for a sale on Vestiaire. 12 emails later with subject heading: "We've not forgotten you!", have failed to address a defaulting Buyer who has not collected a Guiseppe Zanotti bag from DHL (who does that?), after she purchased it from me on 11th May. Vestiaire have received her payment. All sorts of excuses from the Buyer, but in the end DHL is contracted to Vestiaire. I fulfilled my agreement with Vestiaire, but they have stalled with excuses they are "investigating" my "query" about about non-delivery, despite DHL holding the item at a facility in France for almost two weeks. Three weeks later, still no payment after fulfilling my part of the contract. What's interesting is that I am rated as an Expert Seller, have never once dispatched an item later than 24hrs after a sale, always pack & present the item in pristine condition &/or protect it from damage during shipping. I have never had a complaint. Vestiaire have apparently slipped into the pit of money they have made from subscribers like me, and show absolutely no consumer protection when the circumstances clearly evidence that THEY are liable and must pay a Seller when a third party has failed to perform in accordance with the Sales Agreement they have with Vestiaire. And yes, I have a great deal of experience in Consumer Law and will be taking action accordingly. If you are contemplating being a Seller, be prepared to battle it out if you decide to work with Vestiaire. If you are a Buyer, know this: you too have a duty of care & must perform in accordance with the the Vestiaire Sales Agreement. Don't mess Sellers like me around!

At first, I loved shopping on Vestiaire - they have good product options over a variety of sellers and types of products. But BEWARE, they have the worst customer service out of any platform I have ever seen. I purchased a product that, shortly after purchasing I realized was gravely misrepresented in the listing (I basically thought I was buying a purse and it was in fact the size of my palm”. I reached out to Vestiaire immediately about the issue to see if we could cancel the order before the item was shipped. I was told that, although they agree that the item was misrepresented, the Seller is the only one that can cancel the order. I reached out to the seller and she refused to cancel in order not to hurt her “selling reputation”. Once I actually received the item, I reached out to Vestiaire again. I have been tossed around with about 5 representatives for a complaint that I filed. Finally after days, they just told me that they agree the item is misrepresented but I didn’t reach out within 72 hours of receiving the item so there’s nothing that they can do. Plus, I reached out before the item was even shipped. Many other sites will give you a one time leeway but not here! Anyways, what I am saying is you can find some good stuff on this site. There’s also a chance that you will pay $300 for a keychain that fits absolutely nothing. If you have money to waste, go for it.

SELLER- not good site for selling. Use Poshmark instead. French company - takes longer to list and they don't translate english properly. They also don't have enough buyers so takes too long to sell anything. Listed brand new LV Neverfull on Poshmark/Tradesy & Vestiare. Sold with multiple offers on the other sites within 2 days - full asking. This site - NOTHING. Why? Because they "recommend" a price and if you don't do as they ask - they block your listing from being viewed. So as a seller this site is not worth it. They also bombard you daily with emails - and constant demand for you to lower the price. Compared to the others - this site is the worst. Tradesy is good but it takes 3 weeks for you to get your money. So Poshmark is the best.

Been shopping on the site for many years Over the last 2 years gone down Hill. No customer service to actually talk to about an item and some items are quite expensive. Sometimes I have to question whether the things are authentic or not and are they really getting checked. I'm not sure if some way things out authentic as they say they are

I buy on Vestiare at least once a month. However, I do not trust their gemologist’s. They passed two expensive items I purchased on two different occasions. Both had to be returned as they weren’t fit for purpose. Therefore, I cannot trust this site to purchase jewellery. Everything else I purchased was fine. Another tip never ever buy from a jeweller who sells on this site. You are not getting a bargain. Private sellers seem fine.

I've been a member for ages, and unfortunately felt compelled to tell other potential customers not to get their hopes up. Over the last year I've had six (6!) consecutive orders cancelled after the sale went through – a few times after weeks of waiting and hundreds (sometimes 1000s) of $ being transferred. It is refunded of course, but after waiting, expecting for weeks and weeks, and then suddenly the item is 'not available'. There seems to be no accountability or trust system to actually follow through on a sale. No way to leave a review of the seller or contact them, either. After these multiple bad experiences, I wonder how many of these items are actually for sale, or whether there is something else going on. It's like shopping at an imaginary store. Quite a big waste of time, in my opinion better spent on other sites where you actually receive what you bought! :)

Not very professional company. Many times received a good which was verified by the team of Vestiaire but was either damaged or in bad state and they would still charge you 9€ and put a tag that the article is ‘ in a very good state’. Just a bunch of lazy french workers who try to profit easily.

The items are typically good. Customer Service is okay, The price is good until you go to checkout, where Vestaire overcharges for everything. When they first started it was great buying from them. You could choose if you wanted to pay custom fees to them or in your country and authentication was free. Now, The customs fees are outrageous, they charge for authentication based on the price of the item, and their shipping is expensive. At the end, I think Vestaire makes more money from the fees than the Seller. For these reasons, I stopped buying from them.
