“I have been a VC user since 2019, mostly as a seller and have sold nearly 90 items, I occasionally purchase as well. I would say my past experiences are generally positive. However lately I have experienced issues with buyers whose offers I accept but are not going through with the purchase. I already price my items competitively and it is an insult for me to receive a notification from VC suggesting that I lower my price even further in order to sell. I have written to VC to complain about the buyers' behaviors; just in the past 2 weeks, I experienced ghosting buyers 7 times. I realize this may not be serious as buyers receiving fake items. But, as a seller, we are "rated" and scored based on how many items were sold and how many sales a seller cancels (as sometimes the seller is unable to ship the sold item for various reasons). But buyers are not scored on how many times their offers were accepted but they did not buy. To me as a seller, it is a waste of time to deal with such buyers and I have suggested to VC that they think about "scoring" buyers so that sellers can determine whether they want to negotiate or not. It should not just be sellers being scored. Just as on Uber, both drivers and passengers are scored on the platform. Anyways, I have finally had enough of dealing with insincere buyers. It is also obvious VC care mores about its buyers than its seller which is unfortunate because without sellers, VC would not be able to build its business nor be able to promote circular economy. It is also clear VC condones buyers whose attitude is "I like this item but am not sure if I really want it so let me make an offer and see if the seller accepts and I will decide then." Anyways, as I said, I am done with this and have already contacted The Real Real and will be consigning all my items with them soon. It is disappointing that VC does not walk the talk about "building a community." Instead VC has turned into a business that is transactional in nature / more price-driven, and not enough about building "value."”

“After leaving this review and escalating my case, Vestiaire finally processed the payment for my Prada sandals (Ref. 57235905). I have now received the funds. While I am relieved this has been resolved, it only happened after weeks of frustration, multiple unanswered messages, and public pressure. As a seller, this experience has been very discouraging, and I have since decided to close my account. I hope Vestiaire improves seller protection and customer support, as no one should have to go through this to simply be paid for a sale.”

“Too good to be true. One item had a piece missing which wasn't mentioned in the description (an Otazu necklace). The Max Mara bag did have faults but it was sold with a status of 'good' and yet one of the bits of metal from the strap broke off mid walk. Turns out the bit of metal was rotten through. One item which was authenticatie by them, still seems good. Lesson: fraudsters will be fraudsters to make a quick buck. Vestiaire Collective does its best to help.”

“I saw fake Pradas being advertised. How does authenticity check work with that? I hope that on the authenticity card you would mention that the item is "authentic" rather than "check by".”

“Im not sure wheter I like VC or not. I have ordered 4 things from them, all were cancelled after a few days. That was very annoying and i think they should check better with the sellers wheter products are still for sale. One shoe i bought was listet 3 days prior to me buying it and still they cancelled it because it wasn't available. On the otherhand i bought a bag on 19/04 and they shipped the bag instantly and went through authenticity check in just 1 day and now its on its way to me.”
