Let me help lower the risk of something going wrong during your Bali holiday. After years of passing on insider tips to family and friends, I'm sharing my local knowledge about money, transport, attractions and day tours.

Transfers from Bali Airport to your hotel or villa are easy if you book ahead. Remove the stress from arriving at Bali Airport and book a private car and driver to personally meet you and get you to your accommodations quickly and easily. Be met on arrival by one of my personally vetted, English-speaking drivers and receive comprehensive, detailed instructions on navigating the airport and making contact with your personal driver straight after booking.

Our day tours get rave reviews because my network of local drivers is second to none. I have personally vetted all the drivers I work with. They text me when they pick you up and again when you have been dropped off at the end of the day. I also email your driver’s name, profile photo, vehicle photo and phone number beforehand to ensure your safety and provide confidence. They are all incredibly knowledgeable and make amazing guides for your day tours around Bali.

“I guess a driver is a driver. our did tell us at one ooint that if we want to arrive at our last destinationbefore sunset we need to sjmkip everything else now, but he could have said so earlier and we could have panned everything better. .”

Hi there. Thank you for your review of the Ubud Day Tour and your valuable feedback. As you took the itinerary that also goes to Tanah Lot after Ubud, we always recommend leaving the last of the Ubud attractions with enough time to get to Tanah Lot before sunset. Our driver did recommend visiting the temples in order as advised, and also that the stairs at Goa Gajah might be a bit much for you, and possibly added to your discomfort during the trip. I spoke to your driver personally for a debrief to see what went wrong, and it's worth noting your husband quietly tipped the driver generously for the valiant attempt to make it to Tanah Lot for sunset even though that was unlikely given the time spent at the attractions of your choice. I sincerely apologise for your poor experience and hope you enjoy your holiday in Bali.

“We booked a car and driver with Michael for a day's sightseeing in northern Bali. It was great. Our driver, Gede, couldn't have been nicer. He spoke very good English. While he was driving he explained so much to us about the island, the culture, the traditions, etc. We had picked out some places we wanted to see and Gede made some suggestions and enhancements to make the day more memorable. The vehicle was roomy, clean and well maintained. If we do another sightseeing day I would definitely book with Michael again.”

“The airport pickup went fine, However the driver was not aware the way to Ubud resort because the road was closed in near Ubud Palace. It is not nice that driver will take you to local place where you will pay more local telcomsel SIM card than in airport. Felt a bit rip off. But that's tourist life”

Hi there. Thanks for leaving your review. Since this is the only negative review we have ever received (we had a 100% 5-star review record until now), rather than respond immediately, I took the time to speak with your assigned driver about your airport transfer. Local ceremonies are a frequent sight and commonplace all over Bali, and when they occur the Banjar (the local community council) close the roads while the ceremony is taking place. Most people appreciate the unique experience of this expression of Balinese culture and understand the inconvenience of having to take another route. Your driver knew exactly where your resort was located, and considering the notorious layout of Ubud’s one-way streets did his best to take an alternative route that got you to your accommodation as quickly and efficiently as possible. Especially considering the closed roads around Royal Palace also happen to be the main intersection in Ubud. It’s also worth noting that immediately after you booked your transfer I sent you a personalised email with instructions on how to navigate the airport, including my recommendation you stop at the official Telkomsel kiosk that sells SIM packages at promotional pricing. When you asked Wayan to help you buy a SIM card part-way through your trip to Ubud, he stopped at a common brand-name convenience store, where naturally the cost of the SIM is going to be higher than the promo price directly from Telkomsel at the airport. So your suggestion that either Wayan or the convenience store staff somehow ripped you off is incorrect and mildly offensive. But we thank you for your booking and hope you enjoyed your experience in Bali. We wish you safe travels in the future.

“Using and booking with Bali Holiday Secrets was simple and efficient. Michael was very helpful and made sure I got a driver that was good with kids. Our driver was excellent! He was friendly, patient and very helpful! “We had the best day touring with Gede exploring some of the lesser known waterfalls. Gede made us feel comfortable right from the get-go as we discussed our itinerary via WhatsApp the previous day. He turned up right on time and we got going on our adventure! Gede made sure to walk to each waterfall with us so we didn’t get lost, and waited patiently every single time, telling us to enjoy ourselves and not to worry! The last part of our trip was to reach our villa in Mount Batur, and Gede suggested an amazing place for us to have dinner on Kintamali ridge overlooking the majestic Mount Batur and Mount Agung! We didn’t know what to expect and this really topped off our fantastic day. We had an amazing time and will be sure to hang out with Gede next time we are in Bali!”

“Correspondence with Michael was easy and prompt. Michael’s hints in how to navigate the airport and arrival procedures was a great help. Our driver Wayan was there to meet us on time. The car was immaculate and Wayan was very happy to chat on the drive to our hotel. Highly recommend.”

“What a great day with Made, our driver. We saw all we requested and learnt a lot about the Bali culture and la secret Lava Chicken recipe ☺️. Made went out of his way to source some local cigars for us & gave great local information. Would definitely recommend, wanted to give him 6 star rating, but only 5 available 😊.
