“Really sad to see the beautiful industrial hairpin legs have now been powder coated black. One table now doesn’t match the rest of the Ben Simpson furniture in my home. Decent quality as expected but spoilt by the non industrial block painting”

Good morning, Thank you for getting in touch, Due to popular demand a couple of years ago we changed all of the legs to the colour black. In saying that, we are more than happy to supply you with raw steel hairpin legs if this is what you would like. I have tried to call you a couple of times but have been unable to get through. You are welcome to return these for an exchange though if you wish to. The best way to do this is to keep the table and the fixings and just send back the legs. The return form will be inside the fitting instructions, just fill this out ticking the exchange box and write a note to say you would like the raw steel ones instead. We suggest using a courier comparison site called Parcel monkey, this will be the cheapest way of returning your legs: www.parcelmonkey.co.uk As soon as we receive the legs back at our workshop we will send you the raw steel ones. “Ok. Basically 4 (nicely prepped) planks of wood that you have to screw onto the legs provided. I found it a little tricky to get even gaps between the planks so would probably go for a fully constructed table in the future.”

“Love the quality and look of the shelves but one of them was curved on the top side which made it actually impossible to use for books as they looked like they were sliding off. Not ideal. I would have thought that would have been checked before sending out?”

“Not the strongest brackets despite the size! Look a bit odd on a narrow shelf too. Also the shelves are made up of two planks where they reach a certain width. I’m assuming it says this on the website but I didn’t see before I bought.”

“The deep rustic shelf is great, the floating shelf fittings that were supplied were a nightmare and did not do the shelf justice. I have tried twice and have given up - have had to purchase additional brackets.”

“Cheap and very light piece of wood that has been stained. Not impressed at all. Not worth sending back as would have to pay for postage. Might as well spend that money for a new shelve.”

“The product is fine but had a problem with the fixing the long screws into the wall which would not tighten. Had to drill another 4 holes, insert different rawlplugs but screws would still not tighten. Eventually used the small screws provided to fix the shelf bracket to the wall.”

“Hi Ben, I haven’t received the shelves yet. Parcelforce did not deliver as they said that there was no number on the delivery note. They sent me a letter! There are only four houses in my Close. I’m sure I will be delighted with them when I get them and happy to leave another review. I checked my order and my full address is on the order Parcelforce are not user friendly as I was unable to speak to anyone and the options on the phone home/website did not address my issue”

“The product was fine, shelf supports, thanks. Unfortunately they could not be delivered directly to my home on the Isle of Man. They ended up being shipped via Yorkshire and delivered by the same courier service available to the supplier. This was frustrating. Company apologetic and no issue there. Other UK outfitters to our refurbishment have been exemplary. So I see it as a shame that a solution could not have been found.”

“Product is very nice for what it is. Unfortunately I bought this product having seen the deceptive photo which shows two shelves and therefore assumed that was what I was getting for £50. I guess next time I will need to read the description carefully and ignore what is shown in the advertisement photo. I would be reluctant to shop here again.”

“Over priced timber. You can buy the same wood from a builders merchant for a fifth of the cost. 20 mins it would take to sand the edges and stain to get the exact finish. If you can't be bothered tho then this is your option. Look really nice but like I say, highly over priced.”

“In the picture in all your pictures of your shelves put two shelves so I assumed I was getting two shelves for £63 or however much I paid around that price so I was disappointed as I felt like it was first as advertisement”
