“Subscribed for 6 months, they automatically renewed and I now have to pay another 6months before I can cancel. I contacted them and they won’t budge. Yes I signed up for 6 months, and yes I agree auto renew is commonplace, but usually on a monthly rolling basis. Looking at the reviews it seems it’s not just me this has happened to”
“we used busterbox for our dog, mainly for the treats that she enjoyed as she didn't play with toys. my mother, the card payer, tried to cancel the boxes from coming after our dog passed away suddenly (3rd december 2023). busterbox refused & told her she coudln't cancel until she'd paid for all of the following boxes, even though - as she explained - OUR DOG WAS DEAD. absolutely vile.”
“Nearly £30 a month for a squeaky ball destroyed in a second and a double tennis ball on rope that is on sale for £3 in our local shop. A yoghurt drink and treats my dog walked away from. £30. I have been with you for ages. You kidding me?! 😳”
“Busterbox advert appeared on Facebook advertising a free bed and 50% off first box meaning I paid £12.50. Received box today, the bed is simply a cushion/mat, we received 2 soft toys (similar can be picked up in b&m for a couple of quid and 2 packets of busterbox unbranded treats and 1 packet of denzel treats). The photos on Facebook looked like you got a lot of items in the medium box I selected on a 6 mth subscription but upon receipt this obviously was not the case. I promptly went onto my account to cancel subscription immediately which it processed and then states subscription will be cancelled upon completion of 6 billing cycles. It's absolutely ridiculous and surely goes against UK Trading Standards along with the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, the Consumer Protection Act 1987, the Price Marking Order 2004 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. I will be contacting my bank to ask them not to release further funds and advised busterbox I don't wish to receive further boxes. I am still within the first 14 days of any contract with Busterbox so don't think they have a legal leg to stand on. Please be very wary taking out a subscription with them. The boxes are really not worth the money and their cancellation policy is extremely unclear. States you can cancel at any time but they still want to collect £24.99 per month from you.”
“Awful company, missing toys and treats , not catered to every dog breed, boxes not sealed, asked to pay £40 to cancel subscription and never lived up to many promises over a year to fix all the issues. Had to get bank involved to stop subscription. Please think twice about using this company, especially if you have small dogs and want to receive what you pay for. So pleased I'm not wasting my time and money on this company anymore.”
“Complete rip off. Boxes comes with 0 packaging so anyone can open them/fall apart when posted.
You get two toys that you could probably get in a shop for a quid, they are that poor quality. And three packets of treats that, again, could be valued at a pound. The contents couldn't even be worth £10 at a push. You get holiday boxes late - I got a valentine's box in march so obviously theyve also got a bunch of reduced stock.
They also harass you if you post an honest review. Constant emails and phone calls begging the reviews to be removed.
Please don't give these scammers your money.”
“Signed up, that night they charged my card three times. The next day I Emailed them to complain. they said they won’t refund me because I received the items. They then took another payment. Yes I’m serious and no I had not received anything in 24 hours. Next day they charged me 2 more times. My bank in working with me to get it all refunded and to report them to trading standards and watchdog. You have the right to cancel any subscription within 14 days for any reason. They lie and tell you it’s impossible to cancel unless you pay them more money. This company is beyond unprofessional.”
“Scam service. DO NOT USE.
We had this for a year and the toys are very cheap.
We had paid for the 12 months subscription and during this time period my card had expired luckily. We cancelled the service during the 12 months but come the end they still tried to take payment. They tried for a few months then seemed to give up. Then after another year had passed they tried again. And literally 10 minutes before writing this, another year has passed and they have tried once again, even though we contacted them after the last time and asked them to remove our details. I wonder how many people they are thieving from on a regular basis.”
“the principle is great and customer service is fab however, if your dog is a chewer this is not the box for you , they swapped my dog onto tough toys but they are very samesy , hard . rubber plastic chew toys , same style every box ( there are soft toys for chewers around buster box !)
have cancelled subscription still have 3 months to go before it ends
coincidently visited wilkos and many of the same toys are there for a fraction of the cost , the dog treats vary between £1-£1.50 a bag and again seem much the same every month . Friendly customer service , lovely people but the products let them down”
“Seriously not worth the money - £30 per month which I can ill afford. The treats are fine I haven't got an issue with them but the toys are really cheap and are either destroyed literally within minutes - tennis balls get stripped within seconds or the toys are too big and more for a labrador than a border terrier. Oh and try cancelling! I cancelled after second box and got bombarded with emails - still got billed for seven boxes although I'd only signed up for six months - I've blocked the direct debit now and hopefully that's the end of it - don't do it! It's a good concept but like all other subscriptions you should be able to cancel or pause at anytime - you shouldn't be locked in for 6 months! Cant believe I wasted all that money!”
“Toys did not last 10 mins and treats was about 1cm which my dog found hard to chew.
Terrible service offered replacement box with upgraded toys but still not arrived after 2 weeks.”
“Waste of money!! Each box has 2 crappy toys in and 2 treats that would cost a few quid in any local shop. Do not sign up to this I've been stuck making payments for 2 years. I signed up to a 12 month subscription and tried to cancel once the year was up but they renewed it and said I was tied in for another 12 months. Thank god its finally finished and I wont have to waste another penny on this company.”
“This company is a scam!!! Toys they send is nowhere near value you pay for. Not to mention my dog has destroyed every single toy recived and his only 7 months old. On top of all this. You can't cancel subscription once you select term you want to use with them.
I selected 6 months but actual billing cycle is 7 months not 6 so they get maximum money out of you no matter how much you don't want it. You pay £22 and what you getbi side is worth less then £7 really don't waste your money read all the other negative reviews. You have been worned this was 1 of the worst mistakes of my life hands down. And legally you can't do anything as you agree with their crappy terms and conditions. Sham site sham company and very unprofessional stay away.”
“Seriously loving BusterBox! We have been receiving monthly boxes for 8 months now and It's always a fun experience. My dog goes insane when his box arrives and showers the mailman with kisses for delivery the goods! Will definitely renew our subscription! Highly recommend.”
“Amazing Customer Service and the BusterBox's have been just breathtaking from the start. We have received our Camera with our first box and it helps me so much to check up upon my pups. 10/10”
“My 3 Romanian rescue dogs love their Buster Box especially the treats. They also love the toys.. although this time there were 3 balls inside which were too small for my dogs .”
