“I am a long time customer, I paid $40 consultation fee 2 years ago. Since then, they give me a promo code PETERCFG. My recent renewal, they charge me another $40 consultation without my consent. I think it is UNFAIR, because I should not be charge extra $40 every renewal and I dont even have a chance to use my promo code to save $20.”

Kindly note that you were informed in advance that your prescription was approaching the end of its 1-year term and that your account was set up for prescription auto-renewal, with the renewal fee to be applied to the card on file on your renewal date. For your reference, our message from July 21st stated: ▪️"You are currently set up for prescription auto-renewal, and the renewal fee will be applied to the card on file on your renewal date.” The renewal fee is charged once your prescription has no refills remaining or your prescription expires and requires a new 1-year prescription. It is not a fee that is charged with every medication refill. Clinical review is required annually so that your 1-year prescription can be renewed and additional refills can then be processed. Essential Clinic is a private, online healthcare service designed for convenience and comprehensive care. The $39/year renewal fee covers: ▪️Review of your updated medical history by our clinicians ▪️Issuance of a new 1-year prescription when your refills run out or your prescription expires ▪️Personalized support from our medical and support teams ▪️Delivery coordination, packaging, and shipping logistics This allows us to continue providing ongoing medical oversight and prescription management without requiring an in-person visit. “You sent me the wrong dose of my medication. It is very opaque dealing with Essential. I changed my prescription to 20mg and you shipped me my old 10mg dose.”

We reviewed your prescription and order history in detail and would like to clarify that we only had a prescription for the 10 mg dose on file for you. A 20 mg prescription was never issued by our clinicians at Essential Clinic. All three of your previous orders with us were also for the 10 mg dose, including your orders from August 2025, November 2025, and August 2026. When you completed your recent annual checkup, you indicated that the current medication was “working as intended, no concerns.” There was also no request to increase the dosage or any previous 20 mg prescription linked to your Essential Clinic account. As such, the order processed on August 4th was for the 10 mg dose, in accordance with your active prescription and the quantity you confirmed. If you were prescribed a different dose through another provider, that would not be reflected in your Essential Clinic prescription or order history. If you'd like to discuss whether a different dosage may be appropriate, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We'd be happy to assist and have your request reviewed by a clinician. “Avoid this website. After my submission i immediately cancelled because i changed my mind to seek opinion from my family doctor. But essential clinic refuses my refund request and they told me my drugs are already approved. I believe they use auto-approval or AI techniques. Please stay away from this website!!!”

Our clinicians do not use automated approvals or AI tools to make prescribing decisions. They assess the information provided by the patient and their medical history before determining whether treatment is appropriate. Please also note that our healthcare providers are licensed in their respective provinces and follow the same clinical standards and requirements as traditional healthcare settings. Regarding the consultation fee, it is only refundable if you cancel before a prescription is issued or if you are not approved for treatment. In this case, the request had been reviewed and the prescription had already been approved by a clinician before we received your cancellation request, which is why the consultation fee was not eligible for a refund.
