“The wines are cheap, even after taxes and transport costs from Portugal. I don't mind waiting a few days. It's difficult to choose, because the wines are little known. However, there's a useful amount of information on how they are prepared. The grape varieties are unfamiliar and they have individual characteristics, but I've liked everything I've tried so far.”

“After another trip to the Algarve and drinking the white port, upon our return my husband bought a bottle from a local Supermarket but it was dry (they don’t stock the sweet) and it was around £4 more expensive than the sweet white port I now buy from Portugal Vineyards.
I have just ordered my 8th shipment which includes red wine and white and sparkling. The latter is excellent for the price I paid. I shall be ordering vino verde next time, and there are so many different types and prices to choose from, and olive oil.
All have arrived in good condition by courier and I find that if twelve bottles are ordered the delivery charge works out at just under a pound sterling a bottle. If more than this amount is ordered the next level of delivery charge is applied, so it is best to order 24 or each extra bottle will cost more in delivery charges. There are two options for delivery, one of which costs around £1 more but is a few days quicker.

I order from Portugal Vineyards several times a year: small orders delivered by air arrive on my doorstep in the UK within a few days; larger orders, using ground delivery, take a little longer both to dispatch and to arrive, but given the vast selection and reasonably priced postage, I can't complain. I'm delighted to be able to enjoy good Portuguese wine in the UK at a reasonable price, as the decent stuff doesn't get sold in larger chain shops here and local Portuguese importers charge a hefty mark-up.”
