“I’m still in the process of reading and re-reading your web site. Have spoken to a couple of your recommendations and another from a previous job. I’m learning what to look out for and to differentiate between I would like to have/ think I need/ wanted. I already have panels and inverter from an earlier installation time so looking for a battery. Only one of the three you gave me came out to look at my current situation. They are not convinced my house has 3 phase. In the ended I got a senior electrician who works in commercial construction industry to take a good look at the wiring and was advised the house is wired three phase. So now I’m reviewing again. I’m learning.”
“The site was great for getting information about products and tradespeople. It’s always good to know more about what you’re buying and who it’s from.”
“The advice on the website is great.
That's more than can be said about the advice from the pre-vetted installers. They may well 'back' their product, and perhaps we can be somewhat assured that they will be around in a year or two to look after the warranty, but, so far, I have found none that can actually expain how the economics of what they are proposing to install will work out for me. I can sort-of understand why, because it is complex. But this is the business they are in, so I would expect them to have models that can take my existing meter readings (gas + electricity) and SHOW me what the impact of the various technologies will be. Just telling me what they think my up-front costs will be plus the suggested payback period is not SHOWING me the analysis. Are they guaranteeing the payback period? No, so they are asking me to take the risk with some black box generated numbers...
It appears there is no such tool available to the installers, or at least not those recommended through Solarquotes. What would be super valuable is a tool that would allow a user to upload their own meter readings (yes, the half hourly readings over, say, the last five years, obtained from the retailer), plus gas usage, plus other details of the house and occupants, and then model the addition / replacement of various energy appliances and various retail electricity offerings. The Solarquotes website would be highly valuable if such a tool was to be found there!”
“Quotes were received promptly. Of the company I selected a worker came out to check the roof which I
was very happy with as my home is fairly old. I have not had the panels installed yet as I will be away for 7 days and will contact the company when I get back.”
“Great help to the family
After not knowing much about solar systems ,you were able to pass on your knowledge ,on how you go about purchasing a system that suits our needs .”

“I was quite satisfied with the way Solar Quates worked. I asked for & received 2 quotes.
I was very satisfied with one, because I asked for quotes for 2 sizes & recieved them.
The other quoter gave me only a smaller quote.
I was not appreciateive of the way the Gov. loan amount was used to make the quote look smaller.
In any case, our financial position is such that I don't like to take on loans.
Best regards,”

“Whilst solarquotes was helpful and did follow up when there was a communications error with quoting electrician they only provided one installer. I gave four stars as site information id very helpful in deciding needs.”

“Only one quote received. insufficient information to make a comparison. Respondants more interested in selling rather than advising on most useful syatem.”
“I had prerequisites that limited SolarQuotes to offer only TWO Quoters, instead of three.
The quoters were prompt and provided more information, when required.
That information made me review the Utility process applications for Residential Solar.
That's where I am waiting, at the moment.
The dialogue with SolarQuotes and Quoters has been welcomed and succinct.”
“Solarquotes has been very useful, especially Finns book, on deciding on a system and how it alls. When it came to the recommended installers I was bit underwhelmed. One or two responded quickly and some were very slow. In the end we have gone with one that was used by some friends that so far has been very good and booked install for about two weeks.”
“SolarQuotes itself is helpful and informative. Very good website and service, however two out of the three recommended suppliers failed to quote and one didn’t even acknowledge me as a potential customer. Good on them if they have lots of business but this seems quite rude.”
Hi Heather,

“Solar quotes gave me confidence I wasn't being ripped-off as much as I may have been without them. There's a lot of cowboys peddling BS, or treating potential customers with disdain or both. Lots of gobbldygook, jargon, and pseudo jargon. Pressure selling.
There are installers who disparage Solar Quotes, so they must be having an effect. There's even websites with names very similar to Solar Quotes, probably wanting to get some action from the unwary. I know because one caught me out with their similar name.
Still not 100% confident (suppose that was always unlikely) but it's the best I'm going to get I rekon”

“Two companies contacted me via email/message. A third, CLEAN NRG SOLAR, name of Tony, I think. Tony was excellent, and honest.
Our power bills are small, we're all electric. He gave me advice for which we are grateful.”
