Recently I decided to look into installing home batteries due to the new federal government rebate. I spoke to all 3 recommended installers. They were all very pleasant to deal with but I certainly also needed all the information I read on the Solarquotes website to understand the whole home battery installation process with the all pros and cons. I checked all the claims the installers made on ChatGPT and combining all that information (info on the solarquotes website, info from the individual installers, info from ChatGPT) I felt confident I had an adequate understanding of the home battery installation process for my individual situation. I have decided not to go ahead with the installation of home batteries at this stage. I wanted to pick a Solarquotes recommend battery. I will not take a Tesla as I think Elon Musk is a bad person. Sungrow is not an option for me as I have a Solaredge inverter installed already. I became a fan of the Sigenstore which theoretically would be compatble with my existing system (solaredge inverter) or last option Solaredge batteries. As I currently have a SolarEdge inverter I started reading on ChatGPT about compatibility of the solaredge and sigenstore systems. I decided I am not comfortable combining Solaredege with the Sigenstore battery Stack as it means combining different software systems that have to communicate well with each other. I really want to stick to 1 home solar and battery ecosystem which in my case would then be Solaredge as I already have a solaredge inverter installed, it's only 4 years old and works perfectly. I also read on the Solarquotes website that Solaredge has a next generation battery stack in the pipeline (similar to sigenstore). Despite possibly missing out on some fed gov rebate money I think I - in my situation - am better off waiting a little while longer. Also because my payback time as calculated by an installer would be close to 10 years. That's a bit long and with the option to wait for next gen batteries, I decided to take my time. Without the solarquotes website I would never have gotten this far, so thank you very much. I'll be back!”
