I live in a Village and we were never given a feed-in tarriff even though we requested it; we were just told bulldust about "Embedded Networks" - that you can't get a Feed-In tariff. I feed-in lots of kWh's like other residents so the Village makes a killing with all these "free" kWhs for them to sell and that's partly why I added the battery so I could use some of the my kWh's generated,in the evening.
Now with the Federal Labor Governments offer for batteries I wish to add 2 more "bricks" of battery (ie 6.4kWh).
As I am 83 years old I am not adding any more Solar Panels (due to cost asnd possibly lacj of life yet to pay them off and start getting real benefits) and because my existing panels face basically north and there are NO nearby trees/buildings to reduce the PV output due to shading. Thus I get pretty good use of the existing panels when there is sunshine.
Sadly I find some Contractors who don't really know: what is needed for a Solar installation, the overall outcomes of the solar system -eg will the battery provided power during a grid outage, the necessary extra safely associated with an solar installation (indelible labelling of all electrical equipment), and a few who are just 'on the make'.
Solar Quotes help us in some many ways to get a decent instlallation.
