I tend to agree - if a customer really wants a battery I do believe they should get one. There are other factors at play like blackout protection. What i'll do in this scenario is e-mail you some additional installers to chat with. They will be more than happy to install a battery - and will also do a great job : ).
I'll also follow up with your matched installers about their sales techniques to alleviate this issue in the future.

“A good starting point. Two of the three referred installers contacted us. The quotes were similar but the hardware was different. Everyone tells you the hardware they use is the best and their competitors use shonky, slave-labour built stuff. It’s hard to know.
We ended up going with a separate guy, a local electrician/solar supplier who has done good work for us in the past. Fingers crossed everything pans out.”
