“Great quality and design! The watch turned out to be even less bulky than I expected and therefore is very comfortable to wear. The model I chose only comes with the option of black straps, so I bought brown ones separately and they were easy to change over, nonetheless it would have been nice to be able to freely pick the strap colour with each watch model to avoid having to buy extra and then have an unused pair of straps.0”

“Sternglas Hamburg Automatic! I have waited so much for this product because I am one of the many, that asked for an automatic version of this timepiece after its first quartz release. My review as an architect and designer- Short: I am very happy with this purchase! The design was what initially caught my attention, so adding a durable reasonably priced, automatic movement was what I needed. Detailed: - express delivery within EU - well crafted timepiece matching ALL descriptions and promises! - at first, I was surprised with the scale of the texts and numbers on the dial(they seemed a bit smaller then expected) BUT I quickly get used to the overall scale and I am happy with it - beautiful detailed design! - the 42 mm diameter is perfect for my wrist - the overall thickness is slim enough, considering the movement - the engraving of Hamburg on the back is very nicely done - the strap is the most comfortable watch strap I have ever wore! It also has a nice silky feel. It’s more & more comfortable to wear with each day. Personal remark: I would prefer to have a glass cover on the back, so I can see the movement, the concept for that would fit this watch so well! But I understand the decision to make the engraving and enrich the whole Sternglas portfolio. In overall, all details and elements are carefully combined together. A very classy piece that gives a breath of fresh air to the watch industry! Keep up the great work Sternglas we appreciate it!”

“Very nice design. I just wish the gray was a bit greener. It's advertised as grey green and the green is there but the grey is prominent. Excellent quality and easy to read though.”

“This is an impressive watch. One caution: be aware that when Sternglas describes the case as only 6mm thick, they mean exactly that: the CASE ONLY. When you include the crystal (glass) the watch is 9.3 mm thick.”

“This is the long review…enjoy! I was looking for a watch that will fit three roles – a dress, business, and casual watch. Also, I was looking for a watch with clean, simple, elegant design, and with an automatic movement. I studied many watches, and I narrowed my search to either a Junghans or STRENGLAS watch. I picked the STERNGLAS NAOS AUTOMATIK for the following reasons: OVERALL DESIGN AND WATCH FACE: The STERNGLAS design is Bauhaus-inspired, simple, and clean. It is a very elegant design. I especially liked the position of the company name, automatic, and date window along the 12-to-6 o’clock axis. The STRENGLAS design looks just as good as the Junghans Max Bill watch. CASE SIZE: The case diameter is 38mm – this is perfect for my 178mm wrist. WATCH CASE: The watch case is 316L stainless steel – this stainless steel has good corrosion resistant properties. The case is a little thicker to accommodate the automatic movement and this was acceptable – the watch wears like a thinner watch. WATCH CRYSTAL: The domed sapphire crystal (with anti-reflective coating) is clear, and the watch face is easy to read. The sapphire crystal is durable – in comparison, plexiglass will scratch very easily. The standard Max Bill crystal was plexiglass. WATCH MOVEMENT: The watch uses a mechanical automatic movement (Miyota 821A) with hacking. I wanted a change from quartz movements – my experience with quartz-movements is that they die after the second or third battery change when the gasket is damaged, and water/debris enter the movement. WATCH STRAPS: Good selection of beautiful leather and metal straps; the straps come with easy operating attachment pins. WARRANTY AND MANUALS: The watch came with a two-year warranty and the manual is web-based. There are also easy to follow instructional videos on YouTube. SHIPPING: DHL is experienced with international shipments; and the DHL Express shipment arrived on-time. For my watch, the shipment time (from order to delivery in the US) was 5-days. That included 3-days in US Customs/DHL processing. PRICE AND VALUE: The price is reasonable and “on-target.” The STERNGLAS watches offer a great value compared with other watches. RATING AND RECOMMENDATION: I have worn my STERNGLAS watch for 14-days now and it is great. It looks great and is keeping time within 5-sec per day. STERNGLAS is a start-up/microbrand watch company that has produced a great Bauhaus-inspired watch. Yes, I highly recommend this watch and company and give them 5 out of 5 stars – cheers!”
