“Very poor attention service from both the customer services and our personal agent. Our house, in North Cambridgeshire, has been for sale with them for almost 9 months and we hardly had any viewings or received feedback thereafter. I repeatedly asked my agent to alter some photos on the listing which he didn't do until after numerous times of texting him he slso made mistakes on the listing information, resulting in us chasing him up to alter it. We also had alot of viewings cancel their appointments at the last minute, and after reading the poor service other sellers - and buyers - have experienced with Yopa I now suspect some appointment viewings perhaps weren't genuine. It took me 13 minutes to get through to Yopa on their main phone number today, which alone may put potential buyers off. We have cancelled their services and will be switching to a reputable high street agent. A waste of time and effort.”
“Paid upfront, shouldn't have. House been on the market for 7 months. Only 3 viewings, more booked but mysteriously cancelled and a rediculous offer almost seems it was just to get their stats better. Paid an extra £300 as advised for them to do viewinga, but have ended up doing 50%of them myself! Being an ex London estate agent I took the punt thinking I just need to get it on rightmove. And the viewings will flow. If you don't live in London don't use YOPA. get a local estate agent that can show your property to people even if they didn't request to see it.”
“Yopa think it is ok to put up a board outside my property even though it is not for sale with them - I know nothing about them and my property already has the correct estate agent board up. And have they taken it down now? After being asked to twice? No.
Apparently an unscrupulous and careless company with little regard for people's property, commissioning idiots to do their marketing. Which is a shame as it appears to be their sole purpose.”
“Don’t buy a house sold through YOPA! I didn’t think the agent was a good enough reason not to buy a house but I wouldn’t buy a house sold through YOPA again. They are useless. Compared to the service I’ve got from my traditional estate agent which has been excellent Yopa service is disgraceful. There is no service. They take vendors money for putting it on Rightmove and that’s basically it. They offer a cheap shoddy service to vendors and absolutely no service to to buyers. Avoid at all costs.”
“Only using 1 star as there is no option to leave no star.
We are very unhappy with YOPA and they aren’t allowing us to use a 14 day cooling off period.... they are still charging us a fee. We have taken our property off right move as the description and photos of our property were not up to usual estate agents standards. This is due to family friends and members of the publics feedback when I’ve asked their opinions.
I would NOT recommend YOPA and my friend who is also selling her property did not like our photos and chose a high street agent instead as she did not feel that she would have confidence to gain viewings for her property.”
“Only leaving 1 star because no star is not an option. They were very keen until they got my business, advisor said the local agent has been in business for decades and knows the market very well. Agent came and took photos with a tablet, horrible quality, we had to hire a pro photog to retake the photos. That worked because soon after that we hadc our first viewing after being on market for a month without any interest. On the day of the viewing the agent missed the appointment, didnt show up on time to show the property to the buyers, I did it myself even though I paid for a package that included agent showing the property to buyers. Nevermind. The worst thing is that they tie you in a contract where you use their conveyancing team or you pay a penalty of £300. They like to keep it a secret though, I only found out about this after our house was sold through a lot more professional agent and Yopa came complaining about me not using their team. I had a call from yopa before this and we agreed that although nobody told me anything about this clause, I would use them to avoid the penalty after which the person promised they would send the instruction immediately as the buyers were waiting to start the process! Nothing came through obviously, the next time they contacted me with the instruction was after the house was sold and we were already moved into our new home so they took approximately 6 weeks to react!! A joke. I'm raising an official complaint and will do everything to leave a bad review on every platform.”
“I had my mums property on the market for over 2 years with Yopa in Torquay. I paid up front for Yopa to do the viewings and sell the property in that time it changed the selling agent four times. In the end I ended up going with a local agent and had three people wanting it. I would not recommend going with any agent wanting money up front because they have had your money and are not really fussed if they sell or not.”
“PLEASE STAY CLEAR
Absolutely terrible company I would give them a miss 100% but overpriced my house and I had one person in the door within three months I did my own private advertising and that works better for me I would not use this company please stay clear-They keep you locked in for 16 weeks and you’re not allowed to go with other agents you’re basically relying on them to sell your property they ignore your taxes they just ignore you all together very unprofessional company”
“I have been buying a house through yopa estate agents, this has been dragging on for 6 months now, through no help what so ever from yopa,I have repeatedly called for information on the property and the seller, but all calls were ignored or the buck passed on,I spoke to one agent from yopa who said she would give my case priority and would get back on the phone to me,I'm still waiting with two days of the deadline to go with the whole deal in Danger of collapsing .my advice to any would be sellers or buyers is give this real estate agent a very wide berth .These people are not professional people to deal with.”
“I've had flat on the market for a year. In that time the agent has changed 5 times. The handover is always chaotic, losing keys and access details. Not having heard from them in months I tried to arrange a viewing on my own flat and got no response from YOPA! Absolutely terrible company, once they have your money they have no incentive to do anything, they'd rather avoid the effort of doing any viewings at all. DO NOT USE.”
“Less than useless.
Advertise as full service estate agents with a local agent to look after your sale. For 12 weeks my local agent was based in Plymouth and I live in South Wales. Massively over valued our property too. Don't use them.
I wish I had checked for reviews before we used them”
“I don’t often leave online reviews. However, I feel compelled to warn potential customers of the risks associated with selecting Yopa, who I have found to be thoroughly unprofessional and dishonest. You get what I pay for in life and Yopa are cheap for a reason. Their communication and sales support / management is non existent.
The due diligence on prospective buyers is poor which can leave sellers exposed to failed sales and consequently their properties being on the market for long periods which creates doubts for other prospective buyers.
I would counsel anybody to stay well clear of this shoddy organisation who have not even bothered to respond to the complaints I have made about the appalling sales service for my flat in East London. The agent couldn’t be bothered to call or email to explain why two offers fell through. Through the sales process I was continually met with one word or one line responses to important questions and the agent was almost always evasive in answering calls.”
“Avoid! Avoid! And Avoid.. I did not want to give them a star. They are not reliable estate agents. Had a dreadful experience. Total waste of money and time. Appalled to receive an email from Yopa that " The Great News, completion been done." Actually they sold the property to someone else. While my solicitor was waiting for the inquires from the Seller.(after property survey was done.) They did not have courtesy to tell that property was sold to someone else. Would never recommend to my family and friends.”
“Where to start? Dreadful experience start to finish. Now left to take my case to the ombudsman. Tried to purchase a property through this agency. Suspected it might have an issue getting a mortgage. Agent told me categorically there wouldn’t be an issue. There was an issue. £590 later for totally wasted survey fee and customer services investigation into their employee tells me because he told me this over four weeks ago he can’t remember if he said this or not, and because it was verbal I have no case. We shall see. This outfit is unprofessional and tell lies. I can’t tell anyone if they should use them or not. I won’t be using them again and I firmly believe with this level of incompetence they won’t be around for long”
“I booked a valuation appointment last week with Yopa. The appointment booked for 09:00 in the morning. They just phoned (16:50) to say they can’t make it. Also told me that if I put my house on the market in January, it would need another valuation because this month’s wouldn’t be accurate. Never heard this before, sounds like a con for more money.
What a rip off and a bunch of time wasters.”
“I would not wish to give it 1 star in fact no stars should be the case. Whatever you do don't use them. We are in a chain where one of the parties at the bottom of the chain used Yopa to sell their property, what has happened is that we are in stalemate due to Yopa not responding to any calls, emails, letters from any other agents in the chain as everyone is ready to exchange but due to not being able to speak to Yopa for information and the fact Yopa have used their own online conveyancing firm as well who to does not respond, the chain is in stalemate and the rest of us cannot move forward and exchange. They just will not respond to anyone and nor does their conveyancing firm they recommend you use they conveyancing firm (backhander! of course) absolute corrupt company, villians! we are at risk of the chain collapsing at any moment because of them being absolutely incompetent. PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF THEM AND ANY CONVEYANCING FIRM THEY RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE KEEN TO SELL OR BUY A HOME”
“I would say that if you want to sell your house you shouldn’t use this company! I am a potential buyer, but on 2 occasions (weeks apart) trying to book a viewing was near impossible. The first time I felt that it was too difficult and would take weeks so I gave up. Then after looking at all our other options we decided to try again. We were forced into agreeing to have a valuation even though we said we were under contract with another agent, and then had to wait over a week to see the property and had to accept a viewing at 9pm!! Ridiculously late, but wanted to actually get a look at this property. Anyway, I was due to look at it tomorrow, not received any confirmation or anything. Just looked on rightmove to see that it has now been taken off the market- no contact from Yopa to inform us of this? This company is a joke - I would avoid at all costs - what you might save in fees is not worth it.”
“I saw a house on yopa recently as we were thinking about downsizing - don’t need a mortgage - went through the booking system and got a call from yopa - to cut a long story short wouldn’t give me a viewing as my house wasn’t on the market - ( actually it didn’t need to be ) and because the house in question ‘ had offers already’ so why wasn’t it sold then ? It’s a shame - estate agency is a people business, I’d never use them”
