The Leap backrest i'm not all blown away with; probably would be just as happy with an Amia backrest! Still very pleased with my purchase. I had made my first big chair purchase prior to this one which was a hbada e3 pro and was so disappointed i returned it right away. So to turn around and go with BTOD's refurbished Steelcase, i couldn't be happier”

“This is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in my entire life.
Although it's probably unusual to review one chair by actually talking about a different chair, I want to make the case for the Lamia by first talking about the Herman Miller Aeron. Back when the pandemic lock down began a few years ago, I got my first Serious Office Chair with the Herman Miller Aeron. I knew that it was highly regarded so I thought it would be a good investment.
The problem for me is that the Aeron is designed for people who Sit Properly, and it will try to do everything it can to encourage you and reward you for Sitting Properly, but if you deviate from that in any way, then you will suffer. In particular, the mesh frame and seat design means that if you like to sit cross legged in your chair (as I do), then you will *shred* your ankles and sides of your feet with mesh imprints. Mesh in general is not a super comfy material, although I will grant the Aeron is probably a very comfortable chair if you like Mesh.
So, for years, I suffered quietly, because the Aeron is A Good Chair, so what was wrong with me?
But while suffering quietly, I started doing research. I started watching all the chair reviewer channels, found BTOD, and found that when they did their rankings, the same exact issues I had with the Aeron also kept them from putting it in their S tier. The Amia and Leap were chairs that consistently got rated highly by all the reviewers (not just BTOD), but everyone thought that it would be better if they could take parts from one of the chairs and add the seat from the other chair.
And then I found out that BTOD has done just that with the Lamia (and also Ameap). So, I made the "leap" to buy, and now the Lamia is my "amia."
This chair is extremely comfortable if you sit "properly," but it is also comfortable if you sit crosslegged, bring just one leg in, etc., I still have my Aeron because I'm a hoarder, and every so often, I switch back just to see if maybe I was imagining the discomfort, and no...it's just night and day different.)”

“This chair and BTOD deserve 5 stars. Though I ultimately returned the chair due to me determining that it was simply not the right office chair for my body, the chair itself was high quality, competitively priced, and extremely supportive, especially for my lower back. A believe a combination of the gap in the back of the chair and 'sticky' recline mechanism are why it was not the best match for my body
Moreover, the BTOD support was excellent. The company's overviews and guidance on the chair's features, common watchouts, and benefits were completely accurate and left no surprises. “I’ve had this chair now for a few months and I’m glad I kept comparing this one to the Fern and Aaron Miller embody. It’s the case has met every need I had with exceptional configurability for a price point. I just cannot be matched with these higher engine chairs. With the other two chairs are looking at spending $1500-$2000 easy. Purchasing refurbish is a great alternative. I think it’s unfair to even call it refurbished. There’s not a single embellishment on the chair received. It looks and feels and smells and moves like a brand new chair. The packing was solid. The materials are comfortable and look great. Now this has been set before, but truly the one of the best features about this chair on the armrest they’re so customizable. Seat cushion is great as well although I would not personally know the difference between this seat and the other chairs. And the warranty puts your mind at ease.
