I've been playing tabletop games for over 30 years. This game stands heads and shoulders above anything else I've ever played. It's three games in one. It's strategy. It's playing cards and it's rolling dice against each other. The learning curve is small and the game is intuitive and draws you in. The iconic ships of Star Wars itself make you feel immersed in every maneuver you make, cheer every shot you hit and cringe with each point of damage you take. No doubt, this game will take up a great bit of time in your life, but it's a fantastic investment and at such a low price, how could you say no?

I am a Star Wars fan but not really a table top guy. This game changed that. Not only is the Core Set essential--it's also a great deal at 3 ships for under $30. The missions included here really help you get a feel for the game, provided you have a little patience along the way. Most of my 100 point games last well beyond the advertised 45-60 minute mark. Not necessarily a bad thing, but just know that this game takes TIME. There's also an incredible community out there. And Fantasy Flight Games keeps releasing new ships with no signs of backing down. They've just released the 7th Wave AND they've got another one on the way. Not to mention that they are now releasing ships from The Force Awakens.

This site is the cheapest I've found yet. The X-wings core set is a great and cheap way to keep the force strong in any household fun for the fam and a good way to open your imagination love the game and the details are mind blowing

I highly recommend this game. The core set has everything you need to get started. But once you get started (and get hooked) you'll want to expand. Before buying expansion packs, I recommend buying a second core set. With two sets you will then have two X-wings and four Tie Fighters. Almost enough for a 100 point build for either faction and the extra dice needed so you won't need to re-roll a die on a four die attack or defence. The extra components are also nice to have as backup if something gets lost or damaged.

X-Wing is an easy to learn tabletop miniatures game that can be enjoyed by children, star wars enthusiasts, casual gamers, hardcore gaming veterans, pretty much anyone and everyone. This set comes with all of the tokens, damage cards, terrain, and templates needed to play X-Wing. It has dice, though you probably want to buy another pack of dice separately. Here's where the selling point is. MSRP for the small ships is $14.95, MSRP for the Starter is $39.95. The starter comes with three ships... part of one ship is free, as well as all of the paper and cardboard and dice. Need I say more?

This game is easy to learn, fun to play and certainly gives you that star wars space battle feel. The models and components are of excellent quality. The only draw back is that I feel they should include another set of dice instead of making you buy it.

This game is so fun I purchased a second core set to give to a friend. Now I have someone to play against. This is a great starter set to get someone into the game. It provides just enough to help someone learn the basics. Once owning this set they will want to get started collecting the expansions of their favorite faction... or all the factions if you're like me.

WOW Do I love this game!!! MM's $27 price point is a steal!!! I have seen the ships and owned a few before I picked up the game so that I could collect some of the minis. My Edge of Empire game needed 4 tie fighters so I figured it was a no-brainer to buy this box as the cost of 2 tie's by themselves were almost as much. I have played RPG's and the like for nearly 35 years now. This one was very well thought out- challenging and fast paced. Not overly complex but enough detail there for fans to sink their teeth into. The minis add to the stunning appeal to this game. The cards are all beautifully illustrated and the punchouts are solid and durable. My 9 year old son plays with myself and my older 20 year old son and enjoys the game. If you have a kid who's interested in playing, and they are a little quick on the uptake, this game can be enjoyed by more than the suggested age range. Just so much fun, this game is definitely my new gaming addiction. I cannot recall the last time I enjoyed a game this much.
