After 24 yrs. of service I had to replace my AC systems. My cousin is an AC contractor, and he decided to install the T6 Pro.

As a manually programmable thermostat it functions correctly. The Wi-Fi setup however, needs work. When the attempt was made to enable the WI-FI and connect to a phone the process was difficult and did not work. Calling for support did not resolve the problem. Eventually I discovered that the T6 Pro was turning off its WI-FI at the end of the setup and required manually turning it back on to cure the problem. The Resideo app "RUNTIME" displayed is 3 to 4 days behind the current time and the "Sleep Brightness Mode" in settings cannot be set to zero (except manually at the thermostat). Two helpful additions to the app would be programmable FAN on/off times and displaying the apps version number.

I've been using this model of thermostat for 4 years now, and it does a great job of controlling both my Ruud air mover and Ruud heat pump. It allows me to operate my heat pump down to -15C and controls my back-up heat system.

The A/C professionals installing this thermostat took about 10 minutes to show me how to set it up and program, absolute cinch to set up. Purchased from A/C professional.

HVAC company recommended this for a smart thermostat. Several friends have Nest thermostats and they seem WAY less finicky to deal with. Set up, as mentioned is "a bear" but that's not the end of it. The GEO tracking rarely works, but that's fine because usually the only time we change it before we get home is in the winter and the app (when it connects) makes it easy enough to do before you head home. No issues with the functions of the unit once you get it programed, just the "smart" features, connectivity, stability... Bottom line, it's a solid thermostat with major limitations on the "smart" side of things. The monthly reports are very nice, easy to see display, easy to walk by and bump temp up or down, and app is not horrible (when everything is connected to the wifi.) Improvements needed. Look elsewhere.
