The only way to get satisfaction from your complaint is to take this company to the Small Claims Court. Its easy and can be done on line. I got my refund, court costs and interest.

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING ALPHA ROOMS, I URGE YOU TO READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. After a sudden and unexpected event, we unfortunately had to cancel our holiday with Alpha Rooms. Wow was this a big mistake. I was quickly told that there was a 'no refund policy', despite the fact we were still in the middle of our direct debits. We had made it very clear that we were cancelling and that we no longer gave them permission to take money from our account. A week later the took the remaining balance of £178 from our account against our request. After this they ignored our emails and phone calls (last contact with them was nearly a month ago). We were left with no other option other than to raise an official complaint with ABTA who regulate Alpha Rooms.

We booked an holiday through Alpharooms which got cancelled following the collapse of Thomas Cook (the flights were with them). I am struggling to get my money back. I keep getting excuses every time I ring or email. I keep getting told it will be 2 weeks, then 4 weeks etc to get my money back. This seems to be the same story they are telling everyone. I have doubts I will get my money back at all. We travel abroad quite often and this is the first time we have used Alpharooms. We will not use them and would not recommend them. Companies like this need exposing, they should not be allowed to trade and carry on lying to innocent people. DO NOT TO USE ALPHAROOMS!

Hotel room cancelled, waited over a year for refund and still being fed delaying tactics. How can they get a way with what seems to be theft?

If '0' stars would be an option this is what this mess should get. We booked our holidays last Feb to fly to Gran Canaria in May 2020. Holiday cancelled due to to Covid 19.When this all happened Alpharooms just switched off their phone lines! We were forced to accept the voucher for the accommodation, valid until 31st May 2021, after that date we were to be able to request a cash refund. All great...but... they do not pick up their phones, spend ages trying to get through, sent over 20 emails to 4 different email addresses, being completely ignored. STAY AWAY! this place is not worth your time and stress. They have been holding on to our money for over 14 months now and as of today we have not received any updates regarding dates of refunds. We gave them time to refund us until the end of this week. After that, we are taking the case to small claims court.

I booked a hotel through Alpha rooms, The website stated at time of booking a 20 deposit was required and full cancellation if required. I booked and the very next day cancelled through their website. I received an email to say that the booking would be cancelled and could I confirm, this I did. One month later I checked my bank account and a payment was taken of £828.85 for the booking. I requested cancellation through Alpha rooms on the 17/03/2021. The booking should have been cancelled and the second payment of £828.85 was due on the 14/04/2021. This money should not have been taken and I am now been informed by Alpha rooms that's they were waiting for a cancellation confirmation from the hotel. They did this on the 27th March. Why did the hotel proceed with taking more payments when they and Alpha rooms both knew that the booking was to be cancelled. I requested from both companies what date were they informed of the cancellation by Alpha rooms. I was told by Alpha rooms that if I did not accept a voucher they would not cancel the booking which implied that further payments would be taken. This can not be legal, both parties were informed one month before any payments were due that I wished to cancel and proceed to taken money from my account. This is stealing.

My family and I booked rooms through alpharooms for my daughters wedding in Portugal ..we all got confirmation emails and they took deposit ..few wks later we all started getting calls and emails saying no rooms available and an error occured ..we're all very angry as we all thought our hotel was sorted for the wedding..my daughter (the bride to be ) is devastated ..please avoid booking with this company even if their cheaper it's worth paying a bit extra with another company for piece of mind

I have used Alpharooms several times previously and always been very happy. I have just booked 2 holidays with them for next year and had a bad experience with both. On both, the flights didn't get booked, which was very stressful, and they don't seem to be able to tell me why this happened (or they tell you 2 different reasons). So I have had to re-book both sets of flights for 2 holidays. I also had a problem with a "Senior Travel Advisor" who told me he was applying a £50 discount on my booking but all he did was remove 1 of our 2 booked suitcases which made the total £50 less. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! If I hadn't spotted it, we would have been charged excess baggage at the airport! I have been trying to complain about this but nobody will get back to me with their complaints procedure. In trying to resolve this I spoke to another advisor who promised to apply the discount and send me the complaints process, but he has done neither despite numerous emails to him. Then I get a call from Alpharooms saying my flight had been cancelled!!! I was furious, but on getting him to check, it transpired this referred to the previous flight that hadn't gone through and had to be re-booked but he hadn't thought to check this before ringing me to impart bad news unnecessarily. This is topped by the fact that the advisors first language is not English and its VERY difficult to understand what is being said to you and make sure you have the correct information. I am wondering if the competitive prices are actually worth the hassle, especially when you don't get the promised discount. I have spoken to numerous advisors now and have struggled every time. They 'gabble' the terms and conditions at 100 mph so you have no hope of knowing what the T&C's actually are. Very disappointing experiences. On one call to rebook flights I spoke to a man who was VERY hard to understand and talked very quickly. I had to keep asking him to slow down, which he didn't find easy! He gabbled through the payment details and if I hadn't asked him to stop and repeat what he said he would have signed me up for paying in instalments and being changed an admin fee each time. This is totally unfair, as its really hard to follow what is being said. He also didn't tell me there was an extra charge for paying by visa and I advised he should have told me this when I chose to pay with Visa. He was unable to explain to me why I couldn't make the usual payment and then pay the balance off however many weeks before I travel, he wanted me to just pay £1 deposit PLUS the Visa charge then pay in instalments with an admin fee each time. Presumably they get commission on this way. I have spoken to several people there now. the only person who has been genuinely helpful and answered my email queries is Andrea Crome. I also submitted a review on Sweet memory apartments where we stayed in April/May and was promised £20 off my next holiday, but I have never received any vouchers and I have not received any discount of my 2 subsequent bookings. The £50 discount promised by 3 people has never been applied. I feel I have had a really raw deal with these 2 bookings, I was a fan of Alpharooms but this experience has really put me off. I am now plagued by phone calls from them saying my flights have been cancelled, or is it confirmed? I can't actually tell. What a shame, they have been so good in the past.

Please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I recently booked a holiday to Cyprus with them . I booked and paid for a transfer. When I was on holiday my transfer was cancelled, when I checked with the booking agent they told me that Alpharooms had cancelled this . I tried to contact them by phone but after waiting for 45 minutes on a premium number I gave up. When I returned to the UK I emailed them, they apologised and promised to send me the taxi fare I incurred. His was in June , the money never arrived and despite trying to contact them via my account they don’t bother to reply if you look on the net there’s loads of examples of the same thing. Its constantly happening and theyre not doing anything about it. My only hope now is to go through the small claims court. BEWARE

Our trip to Malta was cancelled April 2020. Initially we were given a credit note, which they claimed would be converted to a cash refund if unused. Still no refund. No replies to the numerous emails. Disgraceful.

Alpha rooms and teletext owned by the same company Truly Holdings, They are still taking bookings and taking money, but not responding to phone calls, emails asking for my money back from 2000. They said a credit note will last for 12 months and if you didn’t book in this time you had to wait until the year was up and the you could have a refund, the holiday was booked for April 2000 , it will be 1st June tomorrow, I have phoned numerous times and they just fob you off with lies, I have filled in claim Form , but to no avail, Not even a response, Please don’t loose your money by booking with Alpha rooms or teletext, They are still advertising and taking bookings and money, I personally wouldn’t be surprised if they claimed bankruptcy,

I have given 1 star as you dont get he option to give zero. STAY AWAY FROM ALPHA ROOMS. I have been trying to phone for months with no answer. In addition i have sent numerous messages and to date had no response. I will never use this company and would recommend anyone else STAYS AWAY FROM THEM

Booked Apt on return 2019 for same Apt 2020. Due to covid cancelled again. Changed booking to April 2021. Now Euro restrictions Cant Travel. Alpharooms have refused Refund only giving credit. I quoted my rights and argued with a Living Robot who just replied no Refund to everything. 2 years with my money that I cant get back. Never book with them again.

Holiday got cancelled in April due to covid, which I understand. Its now Jan 2021 and I am still chasing a refund for the flight twice every month. I actually got the flight refunded by the airline to alpharooms August 2020!! and yet they still haven't refunded them !! Every time I phone they want to check my bank details and each time they are correct yet I am still waiting for my money. Totally poor customer service

This is shocking still waiting for a refund from July only holiday company not to refunded anyone . It’s actually called theft what alpha rooms are doing , blaming suppliers who they won’t have paid as hotels were closed in Spain . Are you waiting to go out of business so you do not have to pay ? No reply’s to emails was promised in September I was a priority . Don’t answer emails even from resolver ? Shame on you leaving lots of families out of pocket after a terrible year . Loosing jobs loosing family members and a so called British company are pocketing . Call centre staff give false names like Stuart green haaaa an Indian with a name like Stuart green. If I owed a company over £1000 I would have bailiffs at my door and would by a court be made to pay ? Yet you offer vouchers ! As if . Article should be I. The daily star this weekend.

All these terrible reviews are true. I’ve got email confirmation of refunds September, October , November and still nothing. In addition staff calling me following a bad review ( which I won’t stop doing) promising me refunds, asking for bank details yet nothing. They , and the staff lying are DISGUSTING . This travel company is finished and I am glad of it as they don’t deserve to operate. I have written evidence and have now actioned a charge back via my bank on debit- don’t be afraid to do so we have each other. Look after our elderly not versed with internet and resources. Where is Martin Lewis!!! I will not stop until I’m repaid in full you thieves. Clare H

Same situation as others on this site, still trying to get a refund for a holiday we cancelled due to coronavirus. We were promised a partial refund 6-8 weeks, 8 months later still flogging a dead horse. Now contacting financial ombudsman, to get this sorted. Pleased to see that this site is leaving honest and up to date reviews of this horrendous company.

Have heen trying to get my refund since April last year they have told me that I can only have a voucher. I have refused this. Now they have told me if I dio not accept a voucher I will have to wait another year for a cash refund. What they are doing is illegal...why are they getting away with this????
