I purchased hearing aids from the Lendrum, Amplifon hearing center in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and was charged $1760.00 and told the Ruby 2's were an upgrade. I later learned that this model of Oticon aids was 100 % covered by the Alberta government, aids to daily living for seniors, and was able to return them on the 90 day policy. I then purchased another pair of aids at another hearing center and they were completely covered by aids to daily living. I caution all seniors to ask around as the staff at the Lendrum Amplifon hearing center has no problem over charging me for my aids.

I bought Amplifon and am sorry I did! I have been back and forth to their office 5 times for adjustments and still they have me so frustrated I have them so loud I can only hear background noises or I can’t hear anybody. I am constantly having to ask what people are saying in shops or to my own family! Watching TV has become a chore and I still need subtitles as I can’t hear some stations. Certainly not worth the money or time going back and forth for adjustments that don’t make a scrap of difference to my life or make things any easier.

Taking up a "free" hearing test with Amplifon is akin to attending a sales pitch for Time Share Investments. For an unbiased medical opinion just visit your GP or any independent audiologist who has no invested interest in any one particular product.

Hi, don’t be duped Amplifon is not what you believe. I had to wait 5 weeks to get an appointment.today was the date due. I whent to the shop to hear that I didn’t have any appointments ,and the man I had the appointment with was not working there anymore. At least they could call me back to tell me that my appointment was cancelled. No sorry no apologies juste all normal routine for Amplifon. They’re good for selling but don’t expect anything for customers service.

I bought hearing aids on 09/02/2018 for £1,615.00. I had regular hearing check ups, unfortunately I started having problems with the left hearing aid just a couple of months after the guarantee ran out, they would not do anything for me except inform me it would cost me £99.00 for it to be repaired or £3000.00 for new ones, they promise a life long after care, I don't think so, I have been left with only one hearing aid working, I am so disappointed, I have now gone somewhere else, but I feel my money was wasted with amplifon and I would not recommend them.

It's just a scam, they say it's a FREE hearing test, when actually they have to test your ears to know what level if hearing aid you need .. Then they start, how much is your budget.

This has been a good company which I fear has deteriorated, perhaps due to poor management. My local branch quite good although turnover rate of audiologists may be a warning sign. Individual staff mostly very good. However after the (Coronavirus) lockdown started I needed help with a wax-blocked hearing aid. All clinics closed of course. I would have been happy to send it somewhere, even clean it myself if possible (never been shown how). National helpline (long time to get through) arranged someone to a call me. That one call happened while I was out (daily hour-long exercise); can't phone the calling number back - it just refers me to helpline. Helpline guaranteed I would get another call. I'm still waiting (over 2 weeks). Luckily a small local independent was prepared to fix the aid - at no charge.

Amplifon Horsham is dreadful. Their audiologists change continuously and now they only have one that comes in a couple times a week. Had problem when aids were unusable but have to wait over a week to get an appointment. Think it's time I went elsewhere. Go to Specsavers where you are cared for and attentive aftercare.

I had a appointment booked at Epsom Surrey branch in December this was cancelled due to Sewerage escaping inside the Amplifon premises! After this problem was sorted? I received No communication from Amplifon staff to re book my appointment and I still haven't heard anything.

My mother broke her Amplifon hearing aid the weekend after Christmas. We were unable to contact Amplifon until after the new year. The answerphone message said they were back on 27 December but I got no response to the messages I left until 6 January. The aids then had to be sent away and would take a week. They took 10 days to come back! We were quoted £99 for repair but when collected were told it was double that. Also, the phone continually goes to voicemail. Customer service is poor.

A couple of weeks Ago I got a phone call from the Ipswich branch offering me another hearing test and also offered me a free trial of hearing aids I thought brilliant so I booked in for today 4/10/18 got there and the receptionist was lovely very welcoming offered me a coffee she was very friendly I had my two year old son with me the audiologist came out and Greeted me went in to his office sat down which was only for about ten fifteen minutes only to be told that he couldn’t do anything he had a look in my ears he didn’t explain what was going on in my ears he didn’t do a hearing test at all which I why I was there in the first place and there was no offer of hearing aids all he said was that he needed me to go back to hospital to go back to ENT which I explained is difficult as I have no child care all my family members work and my partner can’t get time off work to help me out i found the audiologist quite rude i do not appreciate that in front of my son I walked out of the store very upset and angry, why ring me and offer me things and then turn me away it’s unacceptable and unprofessional and dishonest,

My 95 year old mother bought hearing aids from you in 2011 which cost nearly £3,000. She was told last year that they are now too old and she needs new ones. Defunct in only 6years !!! However, we kept all her appointments at the Amplifon clinic until the venue was changed I was then unable to get her to the new premises.for the supposedly "free lifetime aftercare." Home visits were arranged, this has been very satisfactory until today we have received a letter stating that for future visits my mother will be charged £30 each time. We are not impressed with the quality of the hearing aids we were never told at any time that there would be a possibility of such a short lifespan and now to add insult to injury she will have to pay for the continued aftercare. We will definitely not be recommending Amplifon to anyone.

I have had Amplifon hearing aids for nearly 6 years but the audiologist now says that they are obsolete which I can understand but the cost of replacements are prohibitive to a pensioner with the 'Diamond' @ £ 3000 and the Platinum @ £2200 (with 45% discounts). It is hard to believe that the 'Diamond' LiNX 0 actually costs over £4350!

Dear Philip, The Ampli-solutions Gold, Platinum and Diamond packages relates to the particular hearing aids purchased and depends on the level of technology involved. The various packages relate to how many years free cover for repairs and free batteries a customer can expect to receive. Every hearing aid supplied by Amplifon includes Life time aftercare for the life of the hearing aid which involves a full annual Hearing Health Review and an ‘On demand’ service where a customer can contact any of our nationwide branches for service and advice. Amplifon’s pricing structure is very competitive and we believe our Aftercare is amongst the best currently available. Many thanks The Amplifon Team

This is a response to Amplifies response A loose part on a toy is a choking hazard and H & S would be all over that. Why is acceptable to have lugs come off a hearing aid in an ear canal which necessitated two emergency GP surgery visits and nearly hospital. You say it is rare but the fact they come off is wrong let alone blaming somebody for pushing them in to hard. You then gave mum another style instead of offering a refund but they were completely unsuitable.Mum has narrow canals and they block up quickly within days and require filter cleaning.Mum cannot clean the filters as she has claw hands and arthritis as well as being registered disabled. You advise that a consultant checks she can fit and clean at time of providing yet it was patently clear by the state of her hands that she could not manage. It is wrong of a sales company to say get another family member to do it especially when Mum lives alone.Your latest offer to clean involves her taking the packet to the post office and sending special delivery which is expensive. Not really practical when filters need changing every 7 days so you would be without for several days per month. It is clear that these were not fit for the specific customer and should not have been provided but targets and profits before customers-Disgusted with attitude of customer services

Dear Mr Woodall, Again thank you for raising this issue. It is important to point out that there are currently only 2 types of hearing aid fittings available. Those that fit behind the ear which were the first style supplied to Mrs Woodall and those that fit inside the ear. Mrs Woodall initially coped well with the behind the ear fitting, however as soon as we were informed of the dome becoming detached these were exchanged without delay to the in the ear style. Mrs Woodall did not request a refund at anytime as her priority appeared to be the need to hear and no concerns were raised by Mrs Woodall in respect of the benefits of either set of hearing aids. Again we would point out that basic maintenance of the aids such as cleaning, changing batteries and wax filters must be carried out as often as necessary. We have offered to assist Mrs Woodall in whatever way feasible. As Mrs Woodall has home visits we are prepared to offer any assistance that is practical by calling out to see her when possible, however it would be most helpful if Mrs Woddall has a carer that they also assist Mrs Woodall with the general maintenance of her aids to ensure that she is not without than for longer than necessary.

Mum now aged 91 had aids fitted that resulted in two trips to GP who nearly had to send her to A @ E as lugs came off in her ear twice They changed them for a different style as a"gesture of goodwill" for another style which went into ear more.Mum's ear canals are narrow get waxed. Apparently she has to clean filters every 7 days.Supposedly at assessment they check to ensure that customer can clean, but given mum has trigger fingers and clawed hand through arthritis not a very good check.Mum told the lady who came out to visit that this was happening and she couldn't hear as a consequence.Eventually we wrote to customer services who gave us what I would consider to be a dismissive couple of letters back.I rang up and the lady I spoke to was the most arrogant person I have ever experienced in any customer services with a customer empathy count of less than zero.At the end of the day they have sold and persisted with hearing aids that cannot be managed by the customer

Dear Mr Woodall, We can see in 2014 that Mrs Woodall was supplied with a pair of hearing aids that fit behind the ear as these were the most suitable for her level and type of hearing loss. Unfortunately 12 months following the fitting of this style of hearing aid Mrs Woodall reported that the tulip dome that fits on the end of the receiver had become detached on 2 separate occasions. Whilst such occurrences are rare it can happen from time to time and is usually caused by the dome being pushed too far into the ear canal. In order to avoid a recurrence of this problem Amplifon exchanged the hearing aids to a design that fits inside the concha of the ear. This style aid has no dome, however cleaning and maintenance needs to be attended to regularly due to the environment surrounding this style of hearing aid. We understand that this has been an issue for Mrs Woodall and Amplifon have offered to carry out the maintenance for her wherever possible and suggested that the aids be returned by post in order for this maintenance to be carried out. We have also suggested that a family member be present so that the general cleaning and maintenance of the aid can be demonstrated in order to assist Mrs Woodall. It is important that we point out the logistical difficulty any hearing aid supplier would encounter if the supplier is then expected to carry out weekly or daily visits to a customer to carry out basic maintenance. If contact our customer services team on 0161 209 7008 for any further assistance.

Bought my hearing aids 7 years ago. Never got on well with them. Too loud or too quiet and did not feel comfortable. In loud company I could hear better without them. On the 6 monthly check ups they were adjusted but still not right. The last year they have been trying to sell me new aids but why spend £2000 for a product that I am not happy with. I decided to go National Health. I was seen within 3 minutes of appointed time at Maidstone Hospitaland 45 minutes later walked out with a pair of hearing aids which I have worn 16 hours a day since. NO CHARGE and free batteries which last 14 days - 4 times as long as amplifon. Worn the aids for 4 weeks before posting this review. A very happy NH 'customer'.

I went into the Amplifon store on the Lisburn Road, Belfast to get hearing aid cleaning products. Upon entering the girl at the desk looked at me like I should not even be there and was completely unhelpful. She had no clue about any of the products despite me telling her the name of it, finally after she found it she then said she had no change and so I should go to a shop and get change, I was not allowed or offered to use the card machine sitting right beside her. I ordered something of Boots which I would have done in the first place if I knew that customer service clearly isn't thought highly of despite serving people who have hearing loss and would appreciate a bit of understanding.

I purchased an hearing aid, from you .I had a problem with the aid rubbing my ear,it was sent back, and returned,a much smaller hearing aid.the hearing aid was loose in my ear causing ,it to make the aid noisy, the aid did not seem to be anchored in my ear.i went to a funeral of a great friend, and had the embarrassment of having to take the aid out,to spare people having to listen to said noise.i would think twice about recommending AMPLITHON .thank you
