utter joke of a big car company! my wife bought a car of them and nothing but problems with it in the first 2 shes had it. broke down sothing to do with the turbo this car is a 16 plate. was at 70mph when it cut down to 40mph luckerly no one hit us very dangerous. also the boot trim is falling of inside. tyres are bald outside 2 front. AA came out and reset the code so i can take it back. got to the garage and they told us can't do anything with no codes.the AA man has gave them a code put in a report and told them it needs to be fixed if not it will go in limp mode again if this is the case it is dangerous!. i have left it with them to get it fixed i have told them i don't wan't it back till its safe to drive again. On buying a car from Arnold Clark alone definitely 5 star they couldn't be more helpful Nick Sanderson excellent at his sales job but sadly after sales service like a different company we sadly bought 2 services from them prior to each service we had quite a bad oil leak from the oil filter once maybe twice is a problem especially on a 19 plate car. I was told its genuine vauxhall parts which I don't dispute possibly over tightened also told that the locking nut was damaged on rear wheel and asked to pay £70 to replace I argued that they must have damaged it on last service they disagreed I said the last time the rear wheels where off was when they took them off. The person went to speak with someone out the back finally with the never said anything other than all done no explanation just a very poor situation very disappointed with everything. I would love to go back to Arnold Clark but I have doubts now especially with warranty you get if you possibly have a fault all you get is you have to go back to manufacturers and there warranty its an easy cop out you'd be better off going to a main dealer and get fobbed off by them rather than fobbed off twice.

I purchased a Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost (2014) from Arnold Clark Shiremoor in July 2020. The process to buy the car was very straightforward, and although they would not move at all on the price I was happy with the car. A week after driving away from the lot there was a loud spinning sound coming from the front wheels. I booked the car in with Arnold Clark (the Newcastle Ford branch this time which is closer to where I live) and when I picked it up they told me quite a lot of work had been done to the car. Obviously this is work that should have been found and fixed before they sold me the car: - Suspension drop link assembly replaced. - Secured rear exhaust heat shield (which is now damaged again). - Exhaust flexi snapped - replaced catalytic converter assembly. - Replaced front brake discs and pads. - Rear wiper not sitting correctly. All of this done just over a week after driving the car away from the lot. All of which should have been done before I was sold the car. The car was then working fine for a number of months until the spinning sound returned near the beginning of 2021. I took the car into an independent garage and they informed me my brake pads needed replacing. This must have only been around 5 months after they were replaced along with the brake discs in the first set of repairs. Around a month after this the spinning sound returned for a third time. This time I took it to another garage (a Halfords Autocentre) for a brake check. This time I was told the brakes were all fine, and that they couldn't see what the spinning sound problem was. They did notice that the rear shock absorbers were leaking, however, and one of them was leaking excessively. I had only done less than 5,000 miles of light driving since purchasing the car due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. A few days after this I also noticed that the Start-Stop technology was working - I was completely unaware the car even had this feature as it had never worked. It was operational for a couple of hours before completely vanishing again. I contacted Arnold Clark customer services about all of these issues and they told me that it was not their problem. I believe all of these problems I am still having were present in some form before I purchased the car, which means I should be entitled to repairs or a full or partial refund. They have offered me absolutely no help whatsoever and have cut off the discussion, stating "After reviewing your concerns further we are unable to change our response on the matter. I would have to advise that this is our final response on the matter". I will now look to see what legal options I have with this situation. If you plan on purchasing a vehicle I would be extremely wary of Arnold Clark as a whole, as once you have handed over your money they have no regard for the quality of the vehicle they are selling to you. If nothing else, having over £1,000 worth of repairs done to a 2014 car in well under a year of purchasing with yet more issues to have fixed should put you off ever using them. I will be letting my family, friends and colleagues in the media industry know about this and advising them never to buy from Arnold Clark.

I have bought two cars from Arnold Clarke, on the serface and at fi4st glance all appears good, but in both cases , and within a short time after purchase both cars have had problems. The depot I bought from was unable to do the repairs and the cars had to go to dealerships. Never again will I buy a car from Arnold Clark as tempting as they appear, I have learnt my lesson.

This is a update from my previous review. Well apparently the bushes or pins on both sides of lower suspension arm still have more life left on them/ meat still on the bone. The insecure heat sheild has been welded on. But on Saturday they told me when I phoned in that all lights came on dash and they have ordered in some new parts that should arrive today 13/01/20. Oh and on Sunday 12/01/20 I emailed Josh about the flexi rail armrest/console he mentioned in his email that he will find out whats happening with it. Well when I checked my email today 13/01/20, Josh mentions he spoke to manager about it and said because of the age of the car and it is sold as seen. I phoned the Stirling/Citroen and asked to speak to Josh but he is off work today. I then asked if I could speak with the manager. I spoke to manager and said about expecting flexi rail armrest/console to be in car. The managers reply was that I dont have to have the car if dont want it, I explained the description of the car and its features are very misleading. I told him I paid for car in full. He said well you can have your money back, just email your details of my bank account. I find this most disappointing and dont care attitude and poor sales tactics. I know have to think about having my money back and going to a non arnold clark dealership may be Pearsons or Peter Vardy or Evans Halshaw. I raised a complaint with Arnold Clark Customer services. See if they sort this out

I passed my test recently and the first place I wanted to go was Arnold Clark. I had seen loads of advertising about how amazing this place was and how they could get you the best deal, so I felt like I didn’t want go anywhere else. On the day of getting my car, one of the staff members were extremely helpful, walked me through the car park and showed me ever car in my budget and went into depth about the cars, which was great and really helped me when I needed to make a decision. I signed all the paperwork, everything was great until I noticed, a day or two later that my bumper was falling off. It’s been a couple months and still no one is fixing it. My battery also went flat and even though I’ve got warranty, they told AA to charge me. I hadn’t even had the car 2 month. It’s all smiles until you get the car, then if there’s an issue, they’re not bothered to try and fix anything. Terrible service

NOT AS DESCRIBED- misled into 4 hours of travel and a credit check! Upon placing deposit on this vehicle I spoke to representatives including Tony from your Aberdeen Mazda branch. They provided a video of the car. I asked if they could view and confirm the condition of the paint/ bodywork due to 4 hour round trip to come to the branch and distance at which video was recorded. I was advised the car was in excellent condition. I arrived at the branch on Friday 10/05/24 to complete the purchase having completed the credit application based on the description provided and found-- Drivers side rear bumper poor spray job with visible drip marks and over spray. Over 20cm x 10cm wide. - Drivers side rear door inside frame clearly resprayed and poorly finished. Almost whole length of where door meets rear 3/4 panel.- Drivers door sill area lacquer peeling off. Over 10cm wide.- Drivers side boot lid out of alignment and rubbing on rear bumper removing/ marking paint. - Condensation inside both rear lights. - Passenger rear 3 quarter C pillar ~4mm proud of body. - Clearly visible chips on passenger side rear door sill. - Rear spoiler lacquer on front edge peeled/ faded. Rear spoiler adhesive loose on both sides. This cost me ~£100 to find out the excellent condition car was far from it. Furthermore, a hard credit search was carried out on basis of the supposed condition. I was contacted by their customer service team who said it was up to me to ask for more information/ pictures before travelling. I explained that I did. The advisor told me Arnold Clark take no responsibility for the incorrect advice. I’ve now had to request call recordings to support escalating this further. The customer service advisor did not issue a deadlock notice/ detailing the ombudsman either. Be very, very careful as Arnold Clark cannot be trusted to accurately describe their cars!

I have been with Arnold Clarke for over 7 years and have never being over enthralled by their service after the initial buying - all very helpful and pleasant. Service plan and all - I have a service plan and I am currently trying to book my car in for a service and MOT - I have previously had them pick up my car from my workplace or home to be told that this is no longer available as they have changed the radius to within 5 miles. the nearest appointment is 22nd June for a Saturday and this is for the MOT and then I have to take it back to get the service done in July Saturday 13th- again more inconvenience and when trying to get answers you are just repeatedly told the same thing over and again. I was then put on hold and told to stay on the line - I did but then the receptionist from the showroom said they could not connect. Very pleasant and took my details for someone to call me back. Not sure what happened to operator who told me to stay on the line.

Terrible customer services. Miss sold on paying extra to go to them for any breaks on the car and MOT. Been without a car for a month, still with no MOT or it being fixed. Asked for a replacement after being without so long. Good customer service would help you with that. Not these guys. All "booked up" or you have to pay. People on the phone and emails are rude, not sympathetic to your situation. Have reported them to trading standards and insolvency.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the service provided by Arnold Clark Garage in Doncaster. On March 8th, I entrusted my car for repair of the catalytic converter, front and back discs, and pads. However, the outcome of this service has left me utterly dissatisfied and concerned for my safety and that of my family. Since the repairs, my car has exhibited several alarming issues that were not present before. The steering wheel shakes violently when the car reaches 60mph, a problem that was nonexistent prior to the repair. Additionally, there are serious concerns with the gearbox, as it fails to engage properly, resulting in erratic acceleration and gear recognition issues. Furthermore, the car emits smoke from the exhaust after just 40 minutes of driving on the motorway, indicating significant mechanical faults. Despite my repeated attempts to address these issues with the garage, including multiple returns for further inspection and repair, the problems persist. On one occasion, we experienced a complete clutch failure while driving on the motorway, leaving my family, including four children and two deaf parents, stranded at a service station for over five hours. This ordeal not only endangered our safety but also caused significant distress and inconvenience. Furthermore, I am deeply dismayed by the lack of accountability and professionalism displayed by the garage staff. Despite our clear descriptions of the problems encountered and our concerns for safety, the garage dismissed our complaints and attempted to attribute the issues to unrelated mechanical components, ultimately resulting in exorbitant repair costs totaling nearly £2000. This entire experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I am appalled by the negligence and incompetence demonstrated by Arnold Clark Garage in Doncaster. I urge you to take immediate action to rectify this situation and ensure that no other customers endure similar ordeals in the future. Additionally, I request a full refund for the faulty repairs and reimbursement for the expenses incurred as a result of the garage's negligence. In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend Arnold Clark Garage in Doncaster to anyone seeking automotive services. The disregard for customer safety and satisfaction displayed by this establishment is unacceptable, and I implore you to reconsider your business practices to prevent further harm to unsuspecting customers.

Unfortunately a terrible experience. Vehicle booked in for service and warranty fault. Vehicle returned with damaged bodywork and no evidence of attempt to repair fault. Branch response to complaint - 'our CCTV doesn't work so we won't take responsibility'!

Had my car in for MOT and service ba k in February. MOT advisories along with a quote in the region of £500 to £700 for both rear bushes and to secure a heat sheild. Due to the costs, I looked locally to try to find something more affordable. Just taken the car to a reputable local garage to be told the bushes are fine and they secured the heat shield in mere minutes. Was there about 10 minutes all in. Disappointed as a loyal customer to feel like I could have paid out for unnecessary repairs.

Don't buy a car from Arnold Clark. I bought one recently, as soon as I drove out of the forcourt, the engine warning light came on. I was told I'd get a full refund, after leaving the car with the garage, I was told the next day they wouldn't accept the car back. After having the car for 30 days, I experience the engine warning light on AGAIN!! Took it to an independent garage which they confirmed and did a report showing the engine warning light still on, and noticed an oil leak, issues with the steering rack and other minor problems. Arnold Clark have accepted these faults but still won't give me a full refund although I have rights if the car is faulty within 30 days. The Manager at Arnold Clark Stretford and Customers Services have been rude, dismissive, not listening to what I have to say!! Its shocking how I've been treated and am still fighting for a full refund. Considering this is a main dealer and I wanted extra security when purchasing a car, it hasn't worked out I don't have any faith in a main dealer now.

Well where ro start the fact we were mis sold a car being told the paint work was pristine but when it arrived from Huddersfield there are chips and scratches everywhere. No tyre repair kit no spread tyre the towing eye has been removed the tyres have chunks out it. We were told the car would be transported up and it was drive adding 200 + miles on the clock the manager Sonny at Huddersfield stating david apologised for saying that the car was pristine as if that make a difference him refusing to properly repair the car the tyres were not replaced the head of business stuart copeland not replying to any email however we have heard that he is not great to deal with which I am surprised t considering his position in the company. When we asked for a refund being told we can't it's against company policy its against policy to fix the paint the properly it really doesn't show a good picture of arnold clark as a company also missing buttons and loose buttons from the inside . As it's arnold clarks policy to not help in any way it is my policy to name every one of these unhelpful arrogant workers at arnold clark Huddersfield on social media I will tag and clark in it so you can have a watch and see the comments you might need to tell the staff at this place as I will be using full names! This will be true facts only nothing else so if thus Brancepeth have nothing to hide and are happy with the service they have provided they they should be over the moon with the review

I brought a vauxhall meriva in March 2022 ,within a week it had a electrical problems with a code 68 fault, it was returned to arnold clark which they kept for 3 weeks .I was told this problem was intermittent, we have been plague with this fault for 2 years now ,so I decided to mot and service to sell it ,only to find the mileage was tampered with in 2015 ,so arnold clark illegal sold me a car that as been clocked, I have contacted them but with over two weeks with no response, and it's illegal to sell the car myself .so my next port of call is trading standards, don't get stung like I did ,I feel scammed and have a worthless car I can't sell
