I have a very common car. Made 4 appointments to get my windscreen replaced and every time they failed to come. No communication, and the call center lied to me instead of finding out the issue. Terrible terrible company with no customer service. Everytime I talked to them they didn't care.

My car is a Jaguar XF. It is 3 years old at the end of this month and needs an MOT. Mid-month the windscreen was chipped by a stone. I've sent a photo of the damage to my garage/dealer and they advise me that this would result in a MOT failure. I can't tax the car without an MOT, and I can't get an MOT without the screen being repaired or replaced! So far, Auto Windscreens have made three appointments over two weeks and have cancelled each one since they don't have a replacement screen. In a few days I won't be able to drive the car legally. Auto Windscreens have NOT delivered (even after giving assurances) and I have no confidence that they will do what they say. So, if your car is less than 'common' LOOK ELSEWHERE !

The windscreen on my Land Rover Discovery had a small star crack (but in the driver's eye line so an MOT fail) which they were supposed to repair. The crew on the van knew nothing about repairs though, they'd been told to replace it. And replace it they did, in the dark by the light of their van headlamps. When I checked it i the daylight there were rubber offcuts stuck all over the seats and carpets, black resin patches on the inside of the new windscreen (that the MOT man was going to fail it on before we managed to scrape it off), glue and some kind of white staining all over the exterior trim on one side and the rubber seal had been twisted at the bottom of the screen so it now lets both water and wind through. That was a month ago and so far all requests for AW to come and rectify the problems have been met with silence. They listen politely during my numerous phone calls, promise that a member of management will contact me, and then do nothing. It's as if their complaints procedure is to outwait you so you give up. That's going to be difficult to do in my case as the wind from the seal misalignment overwhelms the heater making the car undriveable in the winter. Very very poor service. It's bad enough that the technicians couldn't do the job properly but that senior staff then ignore my rectification requests must reflect the principles by which they conduct their business. Caveat Emptor. If you have a choice, go elsewhere.

Absolutely despicable and dishonest. The installer that came to replace my windscreen on my Alfa chipped the paintwork on the wing and tried to hide it with trim and sealant. I didn't find out until I washed the car several weeks later. I didn't contact Autowindscreens as I though it would be difficult to argue the case due to the elapsed time and poor customer service as I found out when I complaint about the quality of the new windscreen.

On my fourth appointment now laughable service. First appoinement told 30 mins prior that the windscreen had not arrived even though text received night before. Second appointment technician failed to turn up; rang call centre and they could not track him down; well it was 3pm Friday probably a long day. Third appointment brought the wrong windscreen. So here we sit appointment number 4 today...you never know. Keep clear...

Booking the repair was easy, but actually having the windscreen repaired has been torturous. The first technician was supposed to arrive by 1pm, he hadn't, so I rang him on the number provided and he said that I wasn't even on his job list. He promised to ring the call centre who would then ring me. By 1.30pm, and no call, I called Autoscreens to be told a new technician was enroute. By 3pm, when there was no sign of the technician, I rang Autoscreens again. Apparently he was still enroute and the problem had been that his van wasn't big enough to hold a windscreen!!!!!!! I was assured he would be with me by 4.30pm. At 4.30pm, when the technician hadn't arrived, I rang Autoscreens who patched me through to the technician who said it would be 5.30pm by the time he would get to me. I checked that he had been given a heated windscreen, which I had advised upon booking the job, to be told that no he hadn't. There then didn't seem much point him coming to do the replacement if he had the wrong windscreen. I then rang Autoscreens again to be told that although they did have it marked that a heated windscreen should have been brought, they couldn't explain why it hadn't. Autoscreens said that they would ring the next day to arrange a new appointment. They hadn't rung by 10am, so I rang them (again). They've now booked a new appointment for a week's time and apparently "Customer Care" will investigate and ring me. I have no hope that either the technician will turn up or that Customer Care will indeed call. This has to be one of the most incompetent organisations that I've ever encountered with no appropriate reporting structure or anyone willing to take responsibility. If it wasn't that my insurance company insists that I have to use them, I wouldn't go anywhere near them.

Absolutely shocking company lacking in the most basic customer care. Now on my third appointment having sat four hours on the previous two appointments waiting for them to turn up. They hadn't even ordered my windscreen on these two occasions and I never received a phone call to say they would not be coming. Disgraceful behaviour from a supposed first class national company.

Absolutely rubbish, made appointment for visit and took half a day off work to get cracked windscreen fixed. Sat in all afternoon only for them not to show, no phone call no nothing. Phoned next day to find out what had happened only to be told they had no idea, and no apology, was told they would get someone from customer service to ring back. Won't hold my breath for that phonecall and as far as customer service goes I think they need to get some. Rubbish company!!!!!

To say their customer service is appaling would suggest that I got some service, it was actually non existent. My rear screen got broken on a Wednesday and I booked a repair through Auto Windscreens which is the name my insurance company suggested. I was told that the repair would be carried out on the Friday. I had no contact from them, so called, to be told that it had been changed to Monday, so cancelled another day's appointments. No show again on Monday, so called again to be told that they didn't know who had changed the appointment or why, but it would be done on Thursday. Another day stuck without a car and no contact from them. When I called, they said they hadn't even ordered the glass. Told them to cancel the job and called Autoglass who were really efficient and fixed it next day through my insurance. one star is too many for Auto Windscreens, they didn't even have to courtesy to contact me to change the appointments.

Save yourself the hassle of having to deal with this incompetent lot. How on earth does a windscreen company not know the parts needed or how to install a BMW's windscreen?? After the first replacement 12 months ago the windscreen has been creaking with the movement of the car. I HAVE NOW HAD 4 REPLACEMENTS to fix the issue. The last time they sent someone with some foam blocks to put on my dash - NOT HAPPY!! these were poking out the top and could be seen. The engineers response - Well i dont know whats wrong with it. Well guess what? I DO! You dont know what YOU'RE doing. He didnt even look at the copy of the instillation manual that i gave him with the updated information of part numbers. I am now having to contact them AGAIN. Im not paying my insurance to have the screen replaced again by someone else but am a total loss of what to do.

Appalling service from the Leeds depot, I don't actually thing anyone of the staff there know what they are doing or how to treat customers. Original fitter put a piece of Perspex in my r/o/s door, that was expected seeing that it was a bank holiday. Nobody called me to tell me when it would be fitted. Damaged door trim when putting glass in & left it saying nothing. I called Leeds depot 5/6 times & was it a satisfying or sympathetic call "NO" I will not recommend them nor will I use them again. I will also be speaking to my insurance company about my unacceptable experience with Auto Windscreens. If your stars had minuses you would get minus 50 plus.

Useless company. Do not use them at any cost. I'm still waiting to have my windscreen replaced 3 months down the line. They just cancelled on me for the third time. Utter amateurs who I would not trust to book an egg

Appalling customer service from this company. It took 5 weeks before I cracked and cancelled the repair. I had even provided them details of a UK supplier who had my glass in stock. Unfortunately I had chosen to go through my insurance company and they only dealt with Auto Windscreens. I contacted their main office and was told they would Get in touch with an update within 24 hours. No contact at all the first time then it took four days for them to contact me after my insurance company contacted them, I ordered the glass myself from the supplier myself and it was delivered and fitted within a week ! Avoid this company at all cost ! One star rating is too kind, !

Took 2 months to bring out windscreen they kept ordering the wrong one. They eventually brought out the correct one and fitted it so badly it leaks water in . Avoid Auto Windscreens and avoid Halifax insurance who make you use them. Windscreen fitted to a Vauxhall Mokka. Read the other reviews and avoid this company.

After booking an appointment (over a week wait!) they turned up late, with the wrong windscreen and didn't even apologise. After complaining they tried to blame me for the error and offered no way of resolving the issue. A new appointment was made only to be told the day before the new appointment that they couldn't do it as still hadn't got the right windscreen. Another 10 day wait for the 3rd appointment. And somehow they are the only company my insurers will pay for?!
