One of thousands who have had their money basically stolen by the bank. Yes they give it back but if they deem your overseas transfer or money is is not acceptable to the ridiculous regulations they freeze your account, leave you in limbo….. the arrogance is beyond belief….. wake up you work for us …. It’s our money and you will disappear with the new online banks and crypto ….. I will be glad when they finally lose….. terrible bank and I warn anyone to stay well away from it….. thousands of people are sick of the bank…. Just look online

My customer service experience by phone. (July '22): Expect long wait times before call is answered - sometimes an hour or more. Service op. took a minute getting my account loaded, adding that the system was running slow today (a common issue with customer services in many companies - maybe they're at home using a slow personal laptop?). She then put me back on hold for 6 minutes while she disappeared to get an answer from someone 'more in-the-know', then returned with an answer to a different question. I repeated my initial query, then was put on hold again while she went off to ask someone my basic question ("what is my interest-free overdraft amount?"), before I gave up and hung up after another 6 minutes. Why couldn't I speak to the person who she was speaking to, to find the answer to my question, instead of me wasting my time talking to someone who appeared to be nothing more than a switchboard operator? 25 wasted minutes on the phone to get a simple bit of info, and still didn't get my answer. Dreadful experience. It's not like they don't make enough money out of us to afford to give us good customer service. Greedy b******s.

Been banking with barclays for 49 years and for most of that time I was treated like family. but this last few years with the ever diminshing contact and service issues are becoming very frustrating. The worst thing for me is the AI interaction on chat. The Bot has zero intelligence and goes round in circles before eventuall connecting you to a 'real' person. Invariably that is someone who fails to read you chat messages and after ;lesving you hangong for ever, comes back with an answer to a question you never asked in the first place. I have to say I am still more than happy with the international team, but the rest are very poor. Get a grip Barclays before customers start leaving in droves

I also have not been able to get through to customer service with regard to a dispute on a purchase of eyeglasses which I never received. After being initially told to work with the vendor, which I did, then could not get a customer service agent on the line -- they finally told me over 90 days had passed and it was now too late to dispute the charge ! I will be cancelling my card post haste. They just said a manager was not available and could call me back within 5 business days!!

Customer service is poor. I have been a Barclay's customer for over 30 years. Suddenly drastically reduced my overdraft limit. When I rang for advice and clarification I was told to 'use a foodbank', when I asked what I should do if I now couldn't temporarily afford food. Impossible sometimes to reach somebody on telephone.

Prepare to be on hold, for a very long time. After being passed from pillar to post. DOG S*it has more of than this lot. I thought banks made money by lending money? Seems like they don't want the custom... How about actually letting you get an appointment at a branch instead of this autromated b*ll*cks.

I have been treated appallingly, having lost my husband, you then took him to court for the house, I said fine you can have it, that was 2019 still waiting, it’s now 2022 so what’s the holdup because all I’ve had is one excuse after another. And that’s when I call you, you have never once kept me informed. As soon as I can I am leaving you! Thanks for raising my blood pressure

I've had nothing but problems with Barclays. I have had 2 cards with them and will NEVER use them again. It took me 3 emails, 3 phone calls and over 3 hours of hold time to get my 2nd card cancelled. Consistently, horrible customer service

Been with Barclays for years but their customer service is virtually none existant now that it is all done from home. If the person you eventually get through to cant answer your question they have to try and contact someone who can. If they cant get through they say they will get back to you, but in my experience, I have not had those return calls. This scenario went on for months before it was resolved and I eventually got a letter of apology. Its a high street bank trying to be an online one and not doing a very good job

An embarrassment 27years and 15 pounds overdraft (1000 was given to me)i got a message that i would incurring on a 35% interest,knowing very well that 2 day after i would got paid like it happened every 30th for 27 years...time back i bought a car i try to pay bear in mind my money where ready..they stop the transaction,i call they put down the phone 3 time, on the end i had to get the person to wait 3 days so i could get the money cash...i switch yesterday to a first direct,i can stay at that bank anymore,way to many problems.

My wife and I have banked with Barclays for the last forty years during which time we have had a small overdraft facility which we have never used. Out of the blue in April we received notification from them stating that they were withdrawing this facility with no reason given. Now the fact that we don't use the overdraft is irrelevant, what I wanted to know was, what financial gain Barclay were likely to make from this action so I wrote a letter, yes a letter, to the UK CEO Matt Hammersmith asking him that very question. I am not nieve enough to think that my letter would get anywhere near Hammerstein but correspondence of this nature is usually taken seriously, but guess what I didn't even get an acknowledgement. Only cartel members such as Barclays can get away with such arrogant and disrespectful behaviour. Shame on you Barclays and shame on you Matt young man.

If I could give them zero stars I would. They do not support their customers when there is a problem with a merchant. Cancelled credit card and will never do business with them again.

Absolute shocking bank use to answer there phones and have good branch managers now they have utterly useless management who have basically scraped there customer service teams to the bones. 50minute wait to get through, the chat service does not work and even expect you to sit on hold for the 50 minutes to make a complaint very sly, sneaky and disgusting bank but sadly all the main banks in the uk are the same.

appalling service, have several business accounts. They hang up, cut you off nobody can access your account anymore to help you No business managers, closed banks everywhere but you cannot access anyone in the bank when you find one. Spent 3 hours on the phone to them today got cut off twice to finally admit after telling me I was in the wrong but actually it was a technical error their side which since last week unable to fix so still an error. What do we pay fees for? we don't have a service? Anyone know of a good bank?

WORST BANK EVER.😡😡😡😡👹👺 If you want to be success in business or life , Do not 🤚I mean DO NOT use this God forsaken bank. I can't wait to get back my funds and close my Account with them. For sure they are dream killer . PLEASE DONT USE THEM ESPECIALLY FOR BUSINESS Account ❗❗❗ I promise I will be here everyday to tell the world how bad the bank is. Especially their branch in bolton

Shocking customer service. Spent 45 minutes on hold with head banging music trying to pay a bill. I don't want to download the app. W I'll be cancelling card. Barclays service altogether has deteriorated .

Worst bank ever!!! After 17 years I'm leaving this institution. Not recommended. Got my PPi monay back , now its get even worst. Shockingly bad at all levels, especially how they treat customers !

Very difficult to get any counter service at my woking branch. Just a lot of young people trying to educate all customers to use the machines thereby eventually allowing Barclays to shutdown any counter services.

COMPLETELY AWFUL...useless customer service whether via chat, phone, or secure messaging...they all kick the can down the road to the next poor sod who has to answer the followup call that is always required....etc, etc...
