Extremely rude and ignorant staffs. I wanted to create a young persons account but I needed parents or guardians permission. My mum doesn't speak very well English so could not understand what the lady was saying. So I decided to translate, the lady then yells at me telling me that I cannot do that and proceeds to cut the call without any explanation. Horrible first experience with Barclays bank and I will definitely be opening a bank account in another bank.

When I say Barclays is the worst bank in the country it is not an understatement. Wether it be rude ignorant staff, a lack of care or passion or they want to sit and racially profile while accidentally answering the phone about last nights euro final players I have never experienced such disgusting people in my life how they are employed baffles and the fact they are still allowed to be open speak on how broken society is. If I had one free pass to kill a group of people it wouldn’t be the nazis, the taliban but it would be the people who work for Barclays bloody bank

They declined a dd of £8. Then charhe me £20 for having to decline an £8 dd due to insufficient ballance. They tell me nothing while fining me for going into "unarranged od", then 3 months later they warn me with debpt collectors for a £200 "debpt". Barclays is also the innovator of the "PPI" scam. They are the biggest bastards out there, stay far away.

Ongoing fraudulent transactions on my account, person information hacked/changed causing security issues. I have had a number of transactions not of my own, thus money taken from my account - when requesting help to file claims and be reimbursed, Barclays failed to do so. I have never had an issue confirming security over the phone til now, when apparently my date of birth is no longer correct! Disgraceful customer service! Lack of assistance in times of need! Security issues regards personal information/data! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE EVERYONE AVOID THIS BANK, AND IF POSSIBLE I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU ALL TO SWITCH TO ANOTHER ASAP!

I have been with Barclays for over 20 years, my first bank. All of a sudden I receive a letter from them to say, my account will be closed. I have been ringing around and been passed from person to person, no explanation was or is given. Now apparently, I might be black listed and might not be able to open and account anywhere. I don't know what's happening or if there is something wrong, a way to to defend myself. No what you would expect from one of the major banks in UK. They are absolutely rubbish, I have to cancel all my direct debits and reset them in another bank somewhere now, I don't know if I can either. I would not goto this bank at all ever again. They are also holding my sons money and not releasing it to him, again no reason. He has been trying to get through to them and do something about it, same thing, no answers. Anyone reading this, leave if you are with them or don't join them I you are planning to.

Very frustrating....they mislaid personal info....used slow dated software.....lead me to believe I would be given the loan only to be told not at last minute..... I've always had a perfect credit score in my 40 yrs as an adult....now due to their lack of in depth research my future credit is in doubt.. I would advise to stay clear...

Yet again Barclays telephone service is appalling! Just moving money from one of my accounts to another takes 40mins to 1hour. I think I might move to a bank with better customer service.

The opening hours of the bank are getting less and less, when they are open there is only one person behind the counter. Had to wait for 20 minutes for someone to help me (that was after having to queue outside for 15 minutes). This was because there was only one person who was able to sort my problem out. Whilst I was waiting 2 men came in without masks asked if they had one there reply was no. Not only were they allowed in but one of them used 3 of the machines, after use non of the machines were disinfected. It was chaotic there should be more qualified staff on especially the first day opening after being closed because of a bank holiday weekend. I have banked with barclays for over 45 years but this has made me seriously thinking of changing banks.

Ongoing credit card fraud that Barclays failed to sort for months ( had to contact them multiple times). They failed to notice odd spending on the card. They failed to ring me back when the phone line disconnected mid conversation with an operator. I put in a complaint and was told they understood their failings. Then once appeard to be sorted they cancel my credit card, no reason given, and an incorrect letter sent prior stating the wrong credit card number. Despite 14 years of having a credit card with Barclays and no issues of paying it off, multiple loans from Barclays all paid off on time or before with no issues and they treat me like this. Now I'm worried this will affect my credit rating.

Worthing branch on Saturday run by 2 old miserable ladies, who are rude and downright requiring customer services training. Disgusting treatment of an elderly man requiring help.

My Dad banked with Barclays for years. He passed away in December 2020. What a shambles the Scarborough branch & the bereavement line. 4,times I was informed they would release money for his funeral. The undertakers were so understanding. Its was eventually paid in February, what a embarrassment Barclays. And to beat that it took a age to release his money into his will. I’ll not name the girl at the Scarborough branch but she should be disgusted with herself. And the guy on the bereavement side, how many times did you actually lie to me??? Just hope your other branch’s are more helpful.

I have been on hold to the fraud department for over an hour. They have just answered, transferred me to a colleague and then oddly I got "cut off". What a shower. It's 10 pm. Come on Barclays. I'm a longstanding Premiere customer. This is the pits.

What an absolute shower of of clueless ignorant individuals. I have been asking them for over a month now to close my account Sort Code; 202726 & Account Number; 53473562. I have used private secure messaging, I have wrote to them - at one stage they messaged me and asked for more information which I promptly gave to them after which they quickly locked me out of my account so that I could not use the account facilities to further contact them. I have no intention of of using their extortionate telephone number to contact them. So I will keep on leaving them social media reviews ad infinitum!
