What an absolute waste of time , extremely unprofessional wasted 2 weeks in waiting for a car which got delayed in arriving only to be told it sold when coming off the lorry , i even had to call for this information Totally unprofessional, delays in answering emails and false promises I would stay a mile clear

Malcolm Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with feedback. As a family run business we pride ourselves on a high level of customer service and on this occasion we failed to meet your expectations. Our business moves at a fast pace and this vehicle was delayed in transit. The vehicle was sold to a customer who was on site with us as it was off-loaded. Please accept our apologies that you had to make a call to us to receive this information and also for any delays in our response. We will make sure the team are aware that communication is critical. We do have a good stock of similar vehicles and can always endeavour to source a vehicle to meet your requirements. If we can help you please let us know and in the meantime we wish you the best with your vehicle search. Many thanks Team Beck Evans

I had placed a deposit on a black BMW from this company. The advert was brilliant, all of the imperfections were well hidden, it looked amazing. When I arrive, after my 4 hour journey which they knew I was coming from far away, I took one look at the car and my heart sunk. The front bumper was sun damaged, due to this it had faded to purple. The car had two large cracks in the windscreen. The car was covered in scuffs, chips and a dent on the back. The inside also had marks and sun damage. The front bars on the BMW inside the grill were in terrible shape, the paint was half off and would have to be wrapped. The sales man didn’t even know about that but it was the first thing I noticed! How can you sell a car and you don’t know what is wrong with it! Makes me wonder what mechanical issues it had that they wouldn’t had told me! There was none of this on the advert. I explained to the sales man who was still trying to sell me the car and told me the purple was meant to be like that and then accepted that it is intact sun damage. I was not allowed my deposit refunded. I understand I signed however this is false advertisement, the car was in terrible shape and I want my deposit back. I didn’t take the car for obvious reasons. It was not what the advert said. The MOT was done 1 day prior with NO advisory’s however the windscreen SHOULD have at least had an advisory, it is clear this company raced it through the MOT to just get a sale. I want my deposit back or I will take this further. I understand this is a 2017 year car and I do not explain the paint work to be in the most amazing condition however, I was disappointed to say the least. The fact that NONE of this was on the advert and I can’t get my deposit back is just disgusting.

Where do I begin with Beck Evans. Purchased a Range Rover Sport end of November and was told car was ready to collect on 1 Dec. Spoken to Rob and even booked train tickets, as I was coming from West Yorks. On 30 Nov I was sent a video of vehicle and showed battery fault with key. He later called as I was told the vehicle actually has a fault with the key and as a result cannot collect car on 1 Dec. The car needed to be booked into Land Rover. An email on December 2nd indicated a booking for December 11th, but this information was contradicted on December 5th when we were informed that the car would go to Land Rover on December 7th, with a potential collection on December 8th, even as late as 9 p.m. On December 8th, after waiting for confirmation plans for potential collection, we were left in the dark. After following up, Mr. Sharman advised that the car would not be seen until the afternoon, rendering collection on that day unviable. Subsequent attempts to reach Beck Evans on December 11th were fruitless, with no response to 6 calls/emails, including attempts to contact Rob Sharman and Ben Marle (sales manager). On December 12th, after 5 p.m., I received a call indicating that the car would be ready on December 14th, for a pick-up on December 15th. The situation escalated on December 19th when Ben Marle from Beck Evans informed us that the required parts for the car repair could not be ordered. This contradicted previous information, causing further frustration. We then felt we needed to address the issue with the director, Sam Evans. On December 20th, this proved to be equally disheartening. Sam Evans failed to provide concrete information about the car's readiness, displayed a dismissive attitude towards our concerns, and abruptly ended the call with a discourteous tone. Furthermore, on the same day, when we contacted the garage (Land Rover Canterbury) directly, we discovered that the required parts had been ordered six days ago, undermining the information provided by Beck Evan's with a potential to have car repaired by new years. The entire ordeal has been characterised by a lack of transparency, miscommunication, and a dismissive attitude towards customer concerns. The director's abrupt decision to cancel the sale without considering our rights to have the car repaired is unacceptable. We felt the failure to undertake a thorough due diligence check of the vehicle prior to sale has been a significant contributing factor to the issues faced and this led Beck Evan's not selling the vehicle due to the loss they faced ordering new keys and a new modular from LR. In summary, the customer service at Beck Evan's has been shockingly poor, marked by a failure to fulfill promises, lack of accountability, and an overall disregard for customer satisfaction. I strongly CAUTION potential customers to thoroughly reconsider before engaging with this dealership.

AS THIS IS ANOTHER REVIEW REFERRING TO THE SAME VEHICLE OUR RESPONSE HAS NOT CHANGED AND YOU NOW HAVE A FULL REFUND. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I have looked into this matter and don’t believe your comments are a true reflection of events. Unfortunately, the vehicle you had put a deposit on developed a fault prior to collection and we informed you about this a couple of days before collection. The vehicle was taken to Landrover to be fixed. There is a part shortage across the whole of the Landrover range and therefore we were in the hands of Landrover awaiting the parts that weren’t available in the UK. We did our best to get the car fixed as quickly as possible in the lead up to Christmas. We endeavoured to keep you informed throughout the whole process. It was disappointing when you threatened Beck Evans with Legal Action before delivery, wanting compensation and stating you wanted to take the car and send Beck Evans a bill for the repair. At that point we believed the relationship had broken down and it was not appropriate to sell you a vehicle. We offered you a full refund of monies paid as soon as we knew we could not meet the timelines – you declined to provide us with your bank details to return the funds or acknowledge our email. We believe we did our best to resolve the issue and put you back to the beginning of your car buying journey. Many thanks Team Beck Evans

Bought Range Rover Evoque, and after three months, we noticed drops of water leaking into the passenger side from the top of the windscreen and getting worse. When contacted Beck Evans, they said they can't do anything because of the 100-day warranty scheme, and this issue not come under their extended one year warranty. When I stressed it's a water leak and we found only now because of the heavy rain, a wonderful staff told me... you should have checked while you buy and also in England every week is raining. Best possible reply for a customer who spent 22K. I insisted this issue was there during the time of purchase and rather than saying the 100 days warranty, show some responsibility and get this sorted somehow. They ignored. Till sale, very polished customer service, and once we got an issue, the real customer service was delivered and thoroughly disappointed. Never ever go anywhere near.

Thank you for leaving us 2 reviews! As this matter relates to exactly the same vehicle here is the response again...... Good morning Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback regarding the purchase of your RR Evoque. I have looked into this matter for you and see that you purchased the Evoque almost 5 months ago on the 17th July. When vehicles leave us not only do they go through a PDI and thorough Safety Check they also have a jet wash and clean. At no point was a water leak identified. As my colleague has already pointed out, had the vehicle left us in July with a water leak I am sure you would have noticed this prior to early December. Warranty would not cover such an incident as it would be deemed 'wear and tear'. I hope that this clarifies the situation. Many thanks Team Beck Evans

I bought a Audi Q5 last Saturday on auto trader and Beck Even web description mentioned that the car has Electric Folding Wing Mirrors,i didn't realise util yesterday then I Emailed Beck Evans I have been told (Unfortunately, I can offer no help as The reason errors can occur is the advertising platforms pull specification from the VIN directly and this can sometimes be incorrect.

Sangar - thank you for taking the time to post the feedback. The team have responded to you via email as below so we can only reiterate our original response and do hope you enjoy your lovely new Audi, Hi Sangar, Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, we do state on all our adverts that errors may occur and recommend all purchases check the specification and ensure it meets their requirements prior to entering a contract to purchase. The reason errors can occur is the advertising platforms pull specification from the VIN directly and this can sometimes be incorrect. On collection we also obtain a signature on our handover checklist confirming you have checked the vehicles condition and specification are happy to complete the contract. Unfortunately, I can offer no further help but I do hope you enjoy your new car as it’s a lovely example.

DISRESPECTFUL DISHONEST & DISGRACEFUL You may wish to read before engaging with Beck Evans to purchase a car. Do not be fooled or comforted by the FCA status they claim to hold. They are not part of the Motor Ombudsman as they claim on their website. They have no complaints process to follow. They have been reported to Trading Standards for their behaviours. It has taken me 3 months of pure pain to fight to have my £1000 deposit returned with a final ultimatum of going to Court.. I have engaged with my bank, the Halifax, Citizens Advice, Mastercard, Motor Ombudsman, Financial Ombudsman, who have all been amazing. I have on the evening of Thursday 6 April 2023 received a refund of my £1,000, exactly three months later. The deposit was placed against a blue Porsche Macan. The car was damaged while getting a service at Porsche Tonbridge prior to purchasing. I rejected the car immediately giving Beck Evans notice prior to the service being carried out. Beck Evans admitted it had been hit but refused to return the deposit stating I had entered into a contract verbally and the deposit was non-refundable. They have accused me of being threatening which is untrue; all communications were made professionally by email. They repeatedly ignored all emails, eventually made an offer of £608 refund stating I needed to pay for the Porsche service. Still no communication, by bank engaged and assisted with the legal position and refunded the £250 paid on my Mastercard. Final advice and assistance from the Citizens Advice was to formally log a County Court Judgement against Beck Evans, as all the paperwork clearly evidenced an undoubted position. With a final letter with a threat of Court, I sudden get a request for my bank details. I have attached emails for clarity so one can see the lengths I have to go to to get my deposit back. They evidence a DISRESPECTFUL, DISHONEST & DISGRACEFUL company.

I recently purchased a 2013 nissan cabstar from Beck Evans. I collected it on a Saturday afternoon. I drove a short way and parked the vehicle for a few hours and returned to drive home. The smoke that came from it was unreal. I've had vans and trucks all my life and was not expecting a brand new truck by any means. People were actually stopping me on the way home. Monday morning I called and was contacted by someone from the workshop who openly admitted they knew about the smoking issue and still went ahead and sold me the vehicle. They asked me to drive the vehicle for 1000 miles presuming so they could claim of my warranty that I paid for. I reluctantly agreed as I did not want to cause them any issues and at this point thought it would be plain sailing. By the Wednesday it was evident that the vehicle had a serious problem and after starting the truck outside a local cafe filling it with smoke I called the workshop and arranged to return the truck. The following Saturday the truck was dropped back to beck evans and they then had the vehicle for 2 weeks to which I had no replacement. After finally having enough and a few stroppy emails I had a call from sales manager Shaun. Admittedly shaun arranged a spare truck for the duration they had mine. They also offered me a poxy free mot and service next year. (Hope it's not from the same mot company as the ones who mot'd my replacement. That came straight from mot allegedly but had no working wipers!) The truck they delivered me had no working windscreen wipers resulting in after them dropping it to me I was stranded on my way home as it was raining. Again another vehicle from beck evans stranded outside my house. 4 days later I had a truck that worked, it didn't lock but it drove. Finally my truck was delivered back and all seemed OK. I left it for a week but all that had changed was the black smoke had slightly stopped and the white smoke hadn't. The engine management light was now on and the truck was missfiring. It then took a further 2 weeks for them to agree to buy the vehicle back from me. Beck evans could not repair the vehicle, puts a lot of hope into a company that sells vehicles in excess of 200k and can't fix an old cabstar. My finance agreement with Motonovo needed to be unwound by Beck Evans instead they settled the finance resulting in me losing 2 months payments made for a truck they had longer than I did. We are now over 3 months on and I'm still trying in contact with shaun who insists he did all that was asked. The only person at Beck Evans that has any decency is Billy in the workshop he is a genuine person. In a nutshell, beck evans knowingly sold me a vehicle with an issue they couldn't rectify, then supplied another un road worthy vehicle in the mean time. Its now cost me time and money all because In the beginning they didn't do the right thing. I would not buy another vehicle from them and would strongly advise others the same.

Mr Kington Thank you for taking the time to post this review - its much appreciated. As a family run business we make every effort to ensure all of our customers are happy and that we hit the mark. It looks like on this occasion we didnt reach the high standards we aim to achieve. We will use this as a learning curve for the team to ensure such a situation does not rise again. Once again thank you for posting this review. Kind regards Beck Evans

Lack of communication I was always chasing them. Attitude to the customer is "take it or leave it" now that they can capitalise on the shortage of used cars. Wouldn't buy from them again.

I sent an email enquiry to this company and after a few days of no response, came on line again and had the online chat and the chap apologized and said he would contact the sales team that would look after this enquiry, and a week on still no contact. would have been ideal to deal with this Co as local to move my motorcycle collection to Aus, I run my own business and cannot see how companies during the pandemic can be so poor and blasé about possible business.

I bought the Mercedes GL 5 months ago. Online it looked perfect but when I went to pick it up, there were damages at the the side window of my car. I asked them about this, they said it’s a minor damage which happened during the car wash, which could be easily fixed. But after a month i had to drive back for an hour to the place, having stayed there for 6 hours, they did not manage to fix it. At the same time there were other problems that crept up such as suspension issues. I had to leave my car with them for three weeks because of other problems. Having fixed the suspension, I got it home and then there were other issues such as engine sign comes up and the window was falling apart. To have the engine sign fixed it cost over 1k. It’s still not stable. I trusted them because of some of the positive reviews online, however, I have found them to be very unreliable, time wasting and cost me a lot of money.

Very unhappy with the discovery sport I purchased from this outfit a while ago. The black pack started to come off the wing mirrors almost as soon as I got it home, the black Discovery letters on the bonnet and boot have fallen off. There was a major problem with one of the rear tyres that I have had to get fixed and now I’ve been told the balance shaft is faulty. I emailed the company regarding all this and have been ignored. Car has cost me an absolute fortune, wouldn’t go back here.

The sales process was completely smooth and Andrew and the team were lovely when it came to us picking a car and processing the payment on the day. We were given a lot of information about car warranty and insurance and it felt like the team were all really going out of their way to make sure we had everything we need for once the car left the dealer Unfortunately the after sales care process is one that is basically non-existent. We had issues with the car that Beck Evans dealt completely unfairly with, and it clearly showed all they care about is getting a sale through. There was no regard to continuing the great service once the car has left the dealer. We were informed by our car manufacturer that the engine had been tampered with and left the car in a condition that was unsafe to drive. Due to this, we immediately got the car fixed with the manufacturer. Having explained this to Beck Evans, we requested some contribution to the hefty price we paid to get the car fixed as it was clearly a mistake made on their part. We made another trip to Beck Evans for them to inspect the car, our point of contact decided not to even show up on the day so we were left with one of the mechanics, and in the end after all our efforts and expenses, Beck Evans decided they would not compensate for any costs. I would not return back to Beck Evans in the future due to this experience, and would advise everyone to think before they decide to spend on an expensive car with this dealer.

Be aware people before putting any deposit money. Most likely if you dont like the van, they refuse to pay it back. Right now, I'm taling them to court for refusing to give my deposit back.

It's disappointing that you should put this information in the form of a review when it's not factually correct. You viewed and ordered the vehicle, we prepared it for you and you failed to arrive to collect it. At that point you informed us that you'd purchased another van elsewhere. Our policy on deposits is very clear, if you've seen the vehicle and you order it with a deposit then that is a contract to purchase. We undertake specific works to prepare the vehicle for sale which carries a cost, as does re advertising. If you'd like to discuss further then feel free to contact me. Regards, Neil Relph

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!. I bought a Mercedes for £34,000, in July 2019 booked it into Mercedes main dealer the next day for a health check, Mercedes told me that the car has had a front end collision and the warranty is void!. I contacted Beck Evans, the sales manager Neil Relph said he does not deal with issues like this, the company secretary Derek Rayner is the only individual that can resolve issues!. Derek Rayner only communicates via email, he will not talk on the phone or have a face to face meeting!. Derek Rayner thinks he is lawyer and even after Mercedes have told him the car has had a front end collision and the warranty does not cover the fault, Derek is adamant that he is right and Mercedes are wrong!. I am now having to go legal to get my money back!. DO NOT BUY CARS FROM BECK EVANS, I have been done out of £34,000 Derek Rayner is a very hard individual to deal with he tells lies and does not reply, very very frustrating!!. Check the company’s information on companies house, very very concerning!. Not Beck Evans BENT EVANS!!

Despite the fact that you are a professional motor trader, Beck Evans 2000 Limited has attempted to assist you by offering to meet the cost of re-gassing the vehicle’s aircon system. As a reviewer you continue to misrepresent the status of the manufacturer’s warranty, a warranty that remains in place as clearly confirmed by the official Mercedes-Benz dealership who you have engaged with. Furthermore you now attempt to unjustly damage this company reputation by appearing to be a consumer rather than being part of Dapper Trading Limited that as a professional motor trading company was given every opportunity to assess the vehicle before making its purchase decision.

THE WORST CAR DEALER IN THE UK!! AVOID BUYING FROM THESE CROOKS. They sell accident repaired cars and don’t tell you!. Derek Rayner is the company secretary who only communicates via email and will not resolve the issue, he is looking for a way to get out of it, and thinks he is lawyer!. I called about a Range Rover advertised for £54999. i was very interested in either buying outright or using my Range Rover as a part exchange. The salesperson was not engaging in the slightest and when I asked for a guide on a part exchange he used We Buy Any car as the valuation! This came as an insult as I presumed beck Evans were a retail outlet! I asked if there was any money off the car if no part exchange and the salesman just said no. sales are about negotiation and if I was dealt with correctly I probably would have bought the car over the phone. very , very disappointed. Would not recommend , sorry.

Good morning, I'm sorry that we did not meet your expectations in terms of the information that we gave you. As you can imagine, we get a lot of requests to price cars over the telephone. This isn't a practice that we like to undertake as we need to see and touch cars to give an exact valuation. Your PX is a Range Rover which are especially important to see. We would welcome your visit and once we've seen your vehicle we will do or best to give you as much as possible.
