Beer was great, customer service was nearly adequate, delivery was shambolic. Adjustment was required to the original order which ended up leaving the package in limbo until I sent an email asking what had become of it. Asked for delivery to be targeted at a specific day which was ignored. Asked for delivery to be left in the porch which was also ignored. To be clear I was not told that either of these things would or would not be possible I just never got replies to my emails. Texted my response to Parcelforce within minutes of receiving it asking for delivery to be rescheduled to a different day. Received confirmation they had processed the change but the delivery was attempted on the same day anyway and left with a neighbour - the specific eventuality I had been trying to avoid.

Very disappointed! I ordered 4 beers for my partners birthday. When they arrived the invoice stated that 4 had been packed but there were only 3 in the box. I phoned the company and left a voicemail but nobody got back to me. I facebooked the company who told me to email them. I emailed the company and yet again no reply. Chased again through Facebook where I was told they only had three available! I hadn’t been notified of this prior to my order, I was charged for 4 beers, and had I not have chased them am pretty sure I would have not got a refund! Won’t be using again.

Recently placed an order for 11 different beers only received 10. No explanation stated did I want a refund for the bottle no offer to send the beer or any form of apology. Still not received the refund or any form of compensation as the order was for a gift. Quite disappointed with the service

It genuinely pains me to write this as I really, really like the efficiency of Beer Merchants and the products they sell. However this time in I've been waiting 10 days and the delivery is yet to arrive. Due to three damaged bottles in the warehouse it was 8 days before the boxes were released to Parcel Force during which time I was not kept up to date as to why there was a delay (apart from a message regarding the damaged bottles) and my email and phone call to their answerphone were ignored. Additionally no final message to say the boxes were on the way was sent to me (as is the norm). Parcel Force took delivery on Wednesday evening and spent the whole of yesterday driving them round South London missing the time slot and them took them back to the depot. The good news, according to the tracking is the boxes are out for delivery again. We shall see. Sadly I was under the impression the Parcel Force's Express 24 delivery service meant within 24 hours. Perhaps Beer Merchants can recoup any additional expenses incurred by using this service in this case. Having said all of this I know cock ups happen and systems break down and will keep using Beer merchants due to their past superb service.

Insufficient packaging meant beers bounced around inside the box during delivery/transit. Wrong beers sent. Beers missing. Seems like its a lottery buying beers from you. Wouldn't recommend you and probably wouldn't use you again, which is a shame as the selection is devent and pricing seems fair. Thanks.

Some of the beer didn't arrive due to "damage", which is frustrating but ultimately refunded and an understandable accident. A number of the cans which did arrive had dents, however, meaning I could no longer give them as Christmas presents.

Beers looked like they'd been on a top shelf for last 10 years. Damaged labels and a thick layer of dust.

I ordered a big wave glass as a present ,but a couple of days later I was informed it was out of stock and would not arrive before Xmas ,but I actually did not need it till the new year anyway ,so would have been happy to wait for delivery .I have received a refund .

Parcel arrived damaged. One bottle was broken. Parcelforce advised that as contents were glass they weren't responsible and was duty of sender to ensure adequate packaging.

Poorly packaged. Ordered 6 cans of beer but on arrival the cans were rattling around the box. Not very good.

The beer I was sent was not correct. Instead of being Troubadour Westkust 9.2% it was the 8.5%. When I made them aware of this they replied saying they knew, they just hadn't updated the website yet. The new release was over a year ago and it only just took them this long to update their site. I have used their distributors "Cave" before and they are the same, unaware of the products they have or are selling. Diabolical organisation and internal communications.

The beer supplied had a best before date of only 1 half months.When I rang they said there was nothing they could do . It's lucky the brewery have promised to provide newer beer .

Wrong description of bottle amounts on site. Belgian mystery pack from 'craft breweries' was a quarter full of Leffe. Just feel that Beer Merchants feel they are doing you a favour rather than you being a customer.

First time ordering. Expected the beer from such a retailer to be much fresher. Some of the (hoppy) beers were 6 months old and 2 even past their BB dates. Disappointing.

You only sent 38beers not the 40 I ordered. When I rang to complain you told me the other beers would be with me by Tuesday and it's now Thursday and they haven't come. This is the second time I've not received the right amount of beer and I won't be using you again. Incredibly disappointed and never an apology or a complimentary beer offered very poor customer service

Unfortunately it's not really your doing but I work away from home so when my beer was delivered it went to the royal mail collection office instead. I got my brother to go collect the package with my parcel card and passport I.d to find that the package had somehow already been collected by someone else and now I have no beer and royal mail are investigating
