I was delivered a damaged bed & reported this straight away, that was 10 months ago. it has taken me to go to the furniture ombudsman to get traction and even then a further 5 months of chasing to get a refund (they refused to give me a replacement) and the faulty goods removed. Despite being out of pocket they refused any form of compensation as well. I have been surprised at just how bad their customer service is and they have put me through 10 months of hell. Do NOT use them - honestly atrocious at every stage. They could not have cared less

Customer service is shockingly poor. They care not a jot! If you’re doing your research (like I wish I had) stay well clear! Spend your well earned money wisely and with a company that will take responsibility if they mess up.

Very poor service I called a week prior to delviery to ensure everything was going to be delivered on time? Took a day off work for the delivery for the van to turn up empty! After calling customer services twice and waiting a total of 4 hours i find i have to wait another entire week for delivery and when i asked if they could compensate me by adding assembly i was told i would need to wait another month. So im waiting another week, need to take another day off work and all i got was...sorry

They don't give you a delivery time until you have paid. They sent an email that clearly said they are open for calls on Sundays and they are not. Because they did not give me a delivery date (31st December 2050!!!) I cancelled the order at 8 am on Monday. It was followed by a phone call at 11 telling me delivery was next day! I got an email at 12.15 to say the third party supplier would be in touch with a delivery date. This was 2 days after I placed the order. I got another call at 3.30 to ask if I was cancelling. Just useless . I also logged into my account and the order was not there so I couldn't cancel online.

I am annoyed i have to put even 1 star. Incompetent, rude and argumentative. Spent £2000 on a product that is faulty. I asked them to resolve this issue and sent pictures of the exact issue. they then requested pictures of mattress (problem is with the bed its self) and they asked for more and more things. I explained i had sent lots of images and explanations yet this isn't good enough either. I was refused when i asked to chat to a supervisor or manager then i was told i had to speak only with this person who was rude and wouldn't listen. please please never buy anything from bensons for beds!

They promised delivery dates then when your stuff isn't delivered they act like you're lying then re arrange it for a month later and for some reason you cant talk to the manager

I arrived home a few hours after the bed had been delivered and assembled by benson for beds.The bed is very poorly made. It had steel staples protruding from the headboard and when I inadvertently grabbed it to move , punctured my hand. Also, there is a rip in the fabricIt is near impossible to get through to customer services. I would avoid if I was you. Wish someone told me before I bought there...

Absolute disgusting behaviour from the company and the customer service team... 1 year old mattress is sagging and dipping more than it should... they have con my family out of money for this mattress that they are unwilling to give an exchange on... also has a 10 year guarantee... they have claimed our bed slats were not suitable for the mattress... it’s ridiculous... no where states or no one said to us when buying the mattress that the 10 GUARANTEE would be invalid if the slats were too far apart for “their” standards... if we had known we would have made precautions to protect the mattress... but yet it’s the top of the mattress that is dipping and sagging.. not the bottom.. it’s terrible service.. should not be happening to a 1 year old mattress... they will use any excuse not to exchange or to stick to their word... as I can see the other reviews.. I’m not the only customer who thinks so ..

Absolute rubbish all turned up damaged or poorly made screws missing in one drawer didn’t even have a screw in it . Split wood staples hanging out all over damaged bed base and the other bed damaged . Poor quality build very weak . After spending 3k at the Orpington branch. We are none the wiser on how long we have to wait been 5 weeks already told we are in a que and they can not confirm the call or dates as email broke????? ..Still don’t know when we are getting them what a Joke !!

Can only add to the other abysmal reviews of this company, bensons for beds are truly shocking. Same issue as many other reviewers: mattress sinking hugely, and bensons for beds using their 'it's been 6 months so you'll have to pay for an independent (LOL) inspection' excuse (not anywhere in the guarantee nor literature, and they openly state they don't have to tell you this part), where they will ONLY allow homeserve or Ecomaster to inspect. Not independent engineers at all, and what the engineer tells you is different to what the report will say when they send it in to bensons for beds. Stay well, well away from this company - the shop staff are genuinely lovely and helpful, however if there's any kind of problem the so-called customer service department will do everything possible to get shot of you. £800 down the drain for an 8 month old mattress that has been rotated and flipped as per their instructions (weekly for the first 3 months!!!!) and all we got back was a snotty email (thanks Qamar Zamir) blowing us off. Even an article in the guardian newspaper highlighting the disgraceful customer service, and how I wish I'd read up on this company as well as the mattress manufacturer before buying from them. This review will be buried soon, so if you've made it this far you'll already have seen the numerous newer reviews that don't stop coming in, that should well and truly serve as a warning not to buy from this clownshow of an outfit. Forced to give 1 star to be able to leave this bensons for beds review - let that sink in.. the awful rating they have now is as a result of numerous 1 star reviews that have actually bumped it UP artificially, due to us being unable to leave 0 stars!!

Shower of Sh ite! had a bed for 3 years despite turning it like it says my mattress slopes to one side! had someone come out about 6 months ago to do a check, not heard anything back! terrible customer service!

What has happened to this once great company??? I’ve bought every bed from Bensons in my adult life. I will not be returning after my latest experience. I received a damaged headboard. To get the matter resolved. I emailed, went into the shop, had lots of 38 minutes wait to customer service call centres , was told a replacement is in - now it’s not. Sorry next step is Furniture Ombudsman & I will never buy anything from Bensons again. Loyal customer lost. If they carry on like this I’ll be surprised if they’re around in 8 years time. DISGUSTING After sales service. Avoid at all costs.

Comes with a "five year guarantee" they say. Nope. If there's a problem after six months, it's on the customer to prove a manufacturing defect, with absolutely no assistance from Bensons. A technician call-out to do this costs you £48 and - presumably - you also need a time machine. They will not accept photographs or perform their own inspection. You must pay to claim on their "guarantee". Bensons are perfectly within the law to stipulate this under the Consumer Rights Act, but advertising that they offer a "guarantee" is nonsense. This is not claiming under a guarantee in any way - it's taking action to force them to comply with statutory consumer law. Customer service doesn't provide "service", just a patronising explanation of why the law is on their side. A fabulous way to speak to someone who hasn't had a good night's sleep.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Just been waiting 40 minutes for customer services to answer the phone for no help at all. I found them rude and useless and did not care about our problem in the slightest bit and did not seem to care about me not likely having my money refunded. And from reading all the truthfully shocking reviews, bad customer service seems to be the norm with this company!!

DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR BED HERE!! We purchased a king sized mattress which was rated a 4 in firmness, we tried the mattress in store on a hard base, however we were not advised the mattress would not be compatible with the type of bed frame which had slats. This was because we were not told by staff that the firmness rating would change(which was important for medical reasons). My wife described sleeping on the bed as sleeping on a slant with the support only down the centre of the bed due to the frame work, however this was not advised that this would happen in store. We believe that we have been miss-sold this bed, and judging from reading the comments this is not the first time a bed has been miss-sold. We are also now struggling to get a refund and staff seem unhelpful across the phone to resolve the matter. As a result my husband has had drive down to the store to deal with the matter because the staff were too incapable to deal with it over the phone.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMER Bought a Mattress - however they CONNED us , made a DODGY fraud fake Invoice said delivery in 1 week which took 3 weeks - so now on the 40day return they are trying to refund less then the cost of mattress - they threw in a FREE mattress Protector and FREE pillow which we didnt actually need but invoice has these listed at over £109 so on the return on the mattress they are taking this off , from day 1 we tried get a corrected invoice they say they post but never did , Rude staff customer service is terrible they just say contact Ombudsman - they are just CON artists , scammers my mother is almost 80 and this is causing her medical issues and stress - they dont answer calls very fast then hang up ..

How I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing my bed and mattress. I believe sensible people actually take reviews on board when making any purchases and I am amazed that Bensons have not tried something to resolve these dreadful reviews but they keep coming!! We ordered a bed and mattress on a Wednesday on line, the email confirmed our order and delivery would be 21 days. Next morning I received a text to say mattress would be delivered Friday!!! So I called and rearranged this. Bed turned up fine on a Thursday and we put it together before the mattress arrived the next day. Upon opening the mattress box we were horrified to find a huge tear down the middle of it. I tried to call Bensons, was on hold for 45 minutes, so ended up emailing. I tried calling again the next day, 45 minutes still no answer so hung up. I finally got hold of them the next day and they advised that they would send a new mattress out and collect the old one. That was over a month ago! Yesterday they called me to say they would be delivering it tomorrow but not collect it as - I HAD PUT A KNIFE DOWN MY OWN BRAND NEW MATTRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What on earth would I do that for? I think the customer service girl thinks I must walk around with a flick knife or carving knife in my pocket!!!! I was so upset by this accusation that I ended up asking on twitter for the MD to call me.... I spoke to a lady on the exec board and I am now at home currently waiting for a new mattress to be delivered and old one taken away...... its 10.47am and I am getting nervous that it won't happen!!!! This company is horrendous - they have blocked me from twitter due to my constant tweets on how bad they were, but if they did there job properly and employed some decent customer service agents a lot of the complaints would go away! For someone to actually accuse me of taking a knife to a mattress is simply unforgivable and slander! Wish me luck for my exchange today!!!!
