Sadly that has finished it for me

I had 3 items of Laura Ashley Clifton range bedroom furnitue. 2 sets of drawers and double wardrobe. All as new. They said they couldnt get wardrobe down the stairs so we said we had partly dismantled it and could they help with the rest to leave 3 sections to remove. (we are elderly) they refused and said we would have to dismantle and take downstairs and reassemble it and then book another collection! They said they hadnt time and if it was in 3 pieces it would be classed as flat pack and wouldnt be accepted anyway cos they couldnt reassemble it. Laura Ashley is not flat pack! Refusing such an expensive donation is disgusting. They took the chest of drawers though! I have donated so much over the years as my dad and husband had heart disease. Never again !

Had a collection arranged for white goods and boxes. Driver turned up, said they wouldn’t take boxes as agreed and left without taking the white goods either. Rude, unhelpful- extremely stressful on day before a house move. Had previously had good - if very expensive- experience with my Mum’s flat clearance, and was a regular donor because of my Dad’s heart issues - but will never donate again

It is British heartless Foundation, treating their team like a used tissue. They let stealing happen easily and don't do anything about it as they are so scared of their reputation. Never donate or work for them. Horrible company

A couple of days ago I bought an item from the BHF I decided I didn’t need the item after all and returned it with the receipt, the label had come unattached. They said that although I have the label because it’s become unattached from the item they can’t refund me , their prices aren’t cheap for a charity shop and I certainly won’t be shopping there again I’m a very honest person and I wouldn’t try and cheat a charity shop which is what the manager accused me of I’m disgusted . I shall now use other charity shops .

Slight tear and damage to items I wanted to donate. It wouldn’t take long to fix the tiny damage but drivers refused everything because it’s not sellable. Lazy attitude when it’s a CHARITY. Waited around all day, then only turned up at 4.30pm. Never try and donate to BHF, they don’t want your donations.

Very poor service when purchasing items bought a cabinet from shop Bristol city centre store.. Item was 100% available when purchased, paid for delivery all confirmed, put sticker on item “I’m sold” with assistant. kept checking in with store as local & adding items to the delivery at all stages checking all ok. The day before delivery I purchased more items added again the manager himself took my order & added all items once again all confirmed.Today delivery arrives & 2 items short, the cabinet & a table , the driver said he would return with items. 4 hours waiting called driver no answer, called store said would investigate and get to me waited 2 hrs no response, called store to be told item, sold 2 weeks before I had purchased it ?? Rather odd that they realise that today after Iv been in constant contact with store staff and spoke to the manager!! Also everything is computer based and stored ! How can this happen seemed very odd to me .. Iv spoke to someone who is a friend of a volunteer only to be told that the cabinet I purchased was bought by a member of staffs family.. very very odd and untrustworthy.. I will never ever donate to this charity as I have had open heart surgery & like to support charities but no more .. extremely disappointed, feel cheated , to those donating expensive items make sure it goes into the right hands as something very dodgy has gone on here & im told I can get a refund but have to go into the store and collect it & still a table short?

Really unsure what planet bhf is on. There were a couple of items I could see when pointed out to me that might not be suitable, but an almost perfect matrice, probably no different to what you might find in a hotel, and a lovely L shaped sofa which was refused because a Couple of cushion seams were separated which I am sure anyone would have been happy to accept on the basis that 10 minutes with a needle and cotton would fixed it. Insane and wasteful.

Where to start ! They refused a table because it only had 3 chairs, even tho it was from a major retailer and in lovely condition - so we sold it. Next there was an absolute debacle about the timed collection of a three piece suite, new mechanical bed, bedroom furniture, 55inch TV with TV stand and solid oak sideboard. Starting off with the comments that the driver has the final say. Then on the day before the pick-up a text to advise we would be notified 30 mins before. Started off well enough. So the next day we made our way to the property for 9am (as noted in the text( to be phoned later that morning, by the rudest worker, to say our scheduled time is now anytime between 12 and 6pm and they don't send text. Well, I received a text and it's still on my mobile!!! A very unpleasant conversation followed about the pickup time confusion with an individual who would benefit from some customer training herself, repeatedly saying "you were told or I told you" jeez I would NEVER donate to this organisation again. This is now the 2nd bad experience over the past few years, they were not interested in a single hall table, just one table apparently didn't warrant the driver's time! Oh, note to the BHF - I called Home Aid and had a completely different experience. They were really delighted with the goods, friendly, had the ability to communicate without rudeness and offer a morning or afternoon collection time. Who has time in this day and age to hang around, potentially all day in an empty house for a charity collection. Gey your act together and sort yourselves out.

I had some antique and some modern furniture and all upholstery had fire regulations. The driver was rude and refused everything except for a couple of items and accused me of putting fake fire tags on a sofa. He dismissed the antique furniture as being too old!!! Don't book them; you'll be wasting your time

Two very rude staff . I wanted some items but they were clearly damaged and sharp. She was still willing to sell to me at full price. She lost out on a few sales

Arrangement made for a PU leather 2 seater sofa to be collected today. I made sure the sofa was to hand with easy access for the driver to pick up. They called when my husband was at home , having not had the advised 30minute telephone call prior to pick up. They picked it up but within minutes returned and dumped it unceremoniously on the drive and drove away quickly. No explanation why and extremely embarrassing for me . BHF obviously only want the absolute top of the range donations so anyone thinking of donating furniture to them, DON'T !!!!!

Tried to donate several items. Driver said that my furniture don't have fire labels. After that he asked my ethnicity and several times asked if I know rules of this country. I was lucky that he didn't measure the shape of my skull to judge me. Rude and disrespectful.

Tried to donate my few year old no longer needed £2000 mattress, but the guys that turned up went over the surface like it was a forensic investigation in an episode of Bones, found a small patch of dirt and refused to take it. I told them I'd washed the cover before they came and it was likely to get more dirty from handling or them throwing it in the van without any protection but it all fell on deaf ears. So all in all a lose lose situation and I'll put it on Ebay instead.

Absolutely rip off in there now. Prices are getting out of hand. It’s supposed to be a charity shop. Some items are cheaper No a normal retail shop brand new

Having read a BHF leaflet saying they offered free collection of furniture, I phoned them to donate the quality furniture from my late mother in law's property. I was advised they would take an inventory and advise me how much they would charge me to collect the items. I was absolutely disgusted by their attitude. I was offering them FOC furniture which later sold at a price in excess of £4000, yet they expected me to not only donate the goods FOC but also pay for them to collect it. They need to re-word their advertising leaflets. As a charity they have lost touch with reality and now spend thousands on advertising for cash donations, yet make donating furniture difficult. Clearly they were not interested in over £4000 of furniture. Shame on BHF.

For a charity they seem to like wasting a lot of time booking deliveries and then have men turn up to refuse to take stuff. The reason? Worried about scratching the walls when moving the wardrobe.... yet they knew they were collecting a wardrobe of that size and where it needed to be collected from. This was the second time this happened. The first time was because a wooden desk had a scratch on it so couldn't be sold... Must be lovely to be a charity with unlimited resources to waste on delivery men coming out for no reason!
