“They have changed from the last time I bought them, will not be buying them again.”

“1. The delivery service was very prompt and the driver was most helpful. 2. The plastic packaging is very good though not recyclable 3. The briquettes annoyingly crumble very easily. 4. The briquettes burn very very quickly as they are made from softwood as opposed to hardwood ones which we have had from other suppliers, in itself this not a problem but it does result in using at the very least twice as many when compared to hardwood.”

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the briquettes burn quickly for you. The fact is that these are made from hardwood: birch, not softwood. Hardwood is defined as any decidious tree (tree with leaves) while softwood is timber from conifers (trees with needles). The product you purchased is made from silver birch, which is a hardwood. For slower burn, we can recommend turning down the air inflow on your stove or trying other products: Birch RUF or Oak RUF. Many thanks

“Agree with many other reviewers that plastic packaging of RUF bricks was atrocious..not suitable for weight/continual movement of bricks on/off pallets....and the delivery process obviously needs to be addressed. Plus any response by email to resolve the issue was ONLY ever at my prompting..no customer 'service' at all. Emails offered sending a replacement load or sending cardboard boxes or a roll of shrink wrap put all the onus on ME to rectify the problem of 18 broken bags out of 24, having explained that I was physically unable to keep lifting/moving broken packages, and that the damaged items would need to be removed before any replacements could be received. Four weeks later, I've given up...much to someone's relief no doubt.”

As you are aware, we have on several occasions offered to send you free packaging materials and arrange a free collection of any inadequately packated goods, as well as free replacement and/or refund. “Product was excellent but delivery was poor. The pallet was poorly wrapped and was falling apart, the delivery driver only just managed to remove it from the lorry before the logs started falling from the pallet.”

We are very sorry for the poor wrapping. The supplier of this product recently purchased a new packaging line that should result in better quality of the packaging. We have also invested in a number of pallet covers to protect pallets during delivery. This should prevent this issue going forward.
