After reading these reviews I was so sure the book I ordered would never come that I ordered a second copy of it from a different company… but the book came after just a week, much shorter than the predicted two weeks. It was in perfect condition and significantly cheaper. The book I ordered had been selling out in New York bookstores at twice the price I paid so I was delighted to have such fast service. I’ll be able to return the second copy I ordered from the other company for a full refund so everything worked out.

I would give 0 stars if it were possible. Don't order from this company if you live outside the UK. The delivery timelines for outside the UK are lies and their helpdesk are just bots who have no power to do anything including check order details - it just spits out the same message each time you make an inquiry. I ordered a book on 5 May for an important meeting on 2 June. Although the money was debited and I received a confirmation email for dispatch the order never showed up in my online account. After 10 days I contacted the help desk to ask about this issue and check the delivery address was correct. At this point I was told to wait for 25 days. It is now 30 May and I have sent another email requesting help and they have told me to wait for another 25 days. I have asked for my money back because I am so disgusted by this service. I am sure I will just receive another email telling me to wait for 25 days.

Blackwell Books is super dishonest with shipments outside the EU. They are not setup to ship to Canada and do this through DHL who then fleece you with customs fees. They don’t really ship outside the UK despite their website claims. DHL are just as bad as Blackwell which doesn’t help. They then refer you to fine print which should have been obvious upon ordering where they give the impression they can actually ship overseas. avoid Blackwell at all costs, an awful company!!!!

Took my money, did not receive my book. Customer services said they could not find details of the original order and would get back to me by email once they looked into it told it could be up to 2 days! Absolute joke! I could have ordered on Amazon and had it delivered the next day but I thought I would give the little guys a chance, I was wrong this is the reason why Amazon will put you out of business!

I ordered two Harry Potter hardback books from Blackwells. One was as expected (good print and paper quality, illustrated sleeve over hard cover) the other was a clear bootleg (smaller, paperback quality print/paper, low quality print on hardcover - no sleeve). I alerted Blackwells to the issue- pointed out how it was bootleg and didn't look like the other book I purchased nor the photo on the site. They said, the dimensions listed on the site match there for it is not bootleg and I can return the book for a refund. Naturally, shipping costs to return it will exceed the refund amount. So- not a great option. But the real issue is that they, or their distributors, are selling bootleg versions of the book and they are not taking action to correct that.

Ordered a book to help us with Walks whilst on holiday 20 days ago & it’s still not arrived. Won’t be helping us, as we are travelling today. Very poor service & wont be using Blackwell Books again!!

They shipped me the wrong item. They are refusing to send the correct one, or send me a refund. Do not order from them!

Received book in reasonable time, but noted on Credit Card Bank Statement that this was a Recurriong transaction !!!! I only requested and purchased one specific book. I had to contact my Bank to get future payments Blackwell's to be cancelled.

I ordered two items, only one arrived and it's been more than two months, I still haven't received the other book. Tried to contact their customer service, never get back to me. First time buying books from them and will never do that.

Complete satisfaction. Despite epidemic books arrive within 10 days, well packaged, in perfect shape including their handsome bookmark. Inventory is large and quality titles by my standards.

Purchased a book from an international seller from this website, estimated to take between 15-45 days? I never received it however I had to wait the max estimated timeframe for delivery to inquire about a refund which by the time it ended almost meant I would be ineligible for a refund (60 days). I contacted them and was told I got a refund back to my card however I never did receive one and the book never arrived. A scam and I wish this bookshop would stop being promoted as reputable.

I ordered 2 of the same book by accident. I immediately sent a reply which I was told was resolved. The next day I got an email saying the two books had been despatched. Don't order from this company they are pathetic, the emails they send you cannot reply to, which makes it hard to get help. If I'd looked at the reviews beforehand I'd never have wasted my time and money on them.

1. A huge delay with my parcel arriving from the UK to Australia - 15/20 days turned into almost 3 months. 2. At first the staff seemed to be unhelpful and were not very interested or too busy to follow up with my concerns to locate my parcel and help me get back into my Blackwells account as the forgotten password process wouldn't work for me. Almost at the three months mark, I panicked after reading some pretty bad reviews on several review websites.... so out of desperation I contacted Blackwell's again via their website, and demanded that someone find out where my parcel was or help with me getting back into my account - I then also phoned Blackwell (Midnight Aus time) and ended up speaking with the lovely kind Val from the Canterbury store, who raised an email for assistance immediately to her colleagues (so grateful). Very quickly after I was contacted by the wonderful Charlie who did everything he could to locate my parcel and help me get into my account... after not being able to find answers he so kindly arranged a refund no questions asked. 3-4 days after the refund, my parcel arrived!! Charlie once again arranged a money request so I could easily pay for my books. Because of Val and Charlie I have changed my opinion of Blackwells and are so very thankful that these two employees were so helpful and nothing was a problem. I probably should have listed to my mother's advice - "just wait, it will turn up" before panicking! So I sincerely thank you Val and Charlie.... you deserve to be recognised for your outstanding customer service in the Blackwells company!!

Avoid them at all cost! Same story like the others you can read below. I ordered a book for my partner's birthday, paid... And the book has never arrived! According to one tracking app it's out for delivery, according to other - it's been delayed for weeks! Tried to contact Blackwell's, but haven't heard from them!

Do not use this company I ordered two books on December 13th. Money taken on the 15th and advised that the books were despatched on the 16th. I waited and looked at their international shipping times (I’m in Australia) and still no books. It is early February. I have emailed the customer service team three times (17/01, 30/01 & 07/02) and have not received a single response. I wasn’t given a tracking number either because I purchased them as a guest with no account. Do not use, it is a scam and I am currently trying to get a refund through my bank. I have seen others from Australia with exact same issue and I don’t think anyone in Australia should order from this company if you actually need a book! Also, they have now tried to deny any responsibility for the safe arrival for these deliveries because, and I quote Hanna a Blackwell’s employee here, “Orders to Australia are sent by standard mail, which is untracked, with the final stage of delivery being completed by Australia Post.”. Would have been very upset if I had signed up first so I could receive my tracking details only to find they wouldn’t be providing it. I call BS!

Have had them ignore at least 4 emails from me, they did reply to one to give me a ticket number to then say the matter was resolved while they had done nothing but tell me to get back in touch and they would give me the information needed to return and refund.They duplicated my order and now I'm stuck with four books the same. Would never order from them again customer service is dreadful and no way to get in touch with them other than email that they ignore

I ordered books in November last year. It’s now in February. No sign of books and no sign of Blackwell’s. They do not answer my emails, always a automated response.

I’m with everyone else on here, would give zero stars if I could! I ordered a book on 3rd Jan that was a gift. I emailed on 8th Jan as I hadn’t heard anything about dispatch, but got no reply. So on 10th Jan I emailed to cancel the order as it wouldn’t arrive in time (and ordered the book elsewhere). Then 5 days later they dispatch the cancelled order and take my money. I returned as soon as I received but 3 weeks later I am yet to receive an acknowledgement, let alone my refund!! I hope people see these before purchasing with them - gutted that I didn’t!

I am with everyone zero stars returned a book which I received far to late not in time for Christmas. I am still waiting for my refund. Must have emailed 100 times try to phone can never get through. Absolutely dreadful customer service. Steer clear DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
