I was very impressed on how informative it was. I learnt so much and I highly recommend it. I'm actually glad its mandatory, I feel more confident now when I go out boating knowing that I've learnt to rules of the water so to speak and also the emergency procedures. I'm looking to buying my first small boat this summer. Its a fantastic course and worth every penny. Thank you. Karen Legault

This is a convenient and great way to get your boat license, teaches you a lot about important things to know on the water. I like also how I can refer to the study guide in the future if necessary! I would recommend Boat Smart to anyone needing to get their boat license!

I received a gift certificate for Christmas, having lived on the water all my life, it was about time I did this, now I can dig my old motor out and see if it still works.

It was a bit of a marathon but well worth it. Testing on the most important safety topics and not getting too technical was a very good approach. I thank you all who were involved in Boatsmart. Sincerely John Zuck

The process was very easy. They made the material very easy to digest and retain. It's an open book test so you are free to go back to the Knowledge Base and double check an answer during the final exam. It only took me 3 -4hours to become a licensed boater.

The course was well laid out and easy to follow. The only negative I would share is that you have no way of knowing what answers you missed. It would be helpful to have a review of the missed answers after each quiz and the final test to ensure you are getting the right information.

It did not make me that happy, things I thought I knew I did not. One had to put on their thinking cap. Overall I would give it a 10 out 0f 10 to how the course was laid out, very well done. I learned several things I did not know. Keep up the great work.

Hey Boat Smart Staff, I began my studying on Mon, May 23, 2011 7:13 pm. After having been stopped by a representative of boatsmart at canadan tire and told about the online method of studying. I began but progress was very slow. The interface was not the best and I couldn't flip through the sections like a book. The sections were timed and it was a lot of reading. After the novelty wore off, I gave up interest. Since my father had been with me at the time I registered. He would from time to time ask me of my progress. What at first was a gentle nudge became more of a runnning joke after the 5th and 6th year rolled by. "Are ya boat smart yet" He would say. Now in the seventh year and living away from home I returned to the lessons of out respect for something my Dad wished for me to complete. I have found the website new and improved with great video illiustrations and moving diagrams. This is a more inductive way of learning and was much easier to make good progress. I forget what my actual time logged was but it was temendous due to the half hearted attemtps and leaving my browser open to 'run up the clock' in the old days. Perhaps this could be comical relief for the database manager. So perhaps I am your most unsecessfull or secessfull student depending on how you look at it. But either way I appreaciate boat smart honouring the committment to train me and even improve their delivery over time. So now I can proudly say I passed the exam Sat Jan 27 2018. Looks like it was 7 years start to finish. Perhaps Dad's going to have to buy that boat he hinted at almost a life time ago... Graham Brunt of Halifax, NS

There were some points not covered in your course, that where on the Transport Canada test, such as what to check about your Manual propulsion device, but otherwise very well done.
