“I sat to do the course and be a resource person for my 12 year old grandson. The modules covered the material required. The lessons were much to be desired as most of the lessons there was no video option, and the only option was a didactic audio version and me explaining the terminology and the verbiage as the material was not written so that an intelligent adolescent could comprehend the points. the quizzes were inclusive and also included material not covered by that particular module. The criticism of the quizzes is that part of the learning process is learning from your mistakes. There was no opportunity to do this at the end of the quiz as the student had a posted score with a "continue" or "Dashboard /Save Progress" button. As a retired educator I was quite disappointed at the deficiencies that this particular vendor of the Boating License Course has and if I was to post a recommendation this course would be be amongst the candidates. I chose this course vendor because of the high recommendations given in the reviews, which has not been my experience with this particular vendor. The third aspect is the website down time. The webpage has been down for more than 72 hours and we have one module and the exam to finish. When I contacted the corporate phone number during the week after the site had been down 24 hours I was told that the site would be up and running the next day. Here we are three days later and the site is again not up and running.”

“TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Says you can come back when ever so i left for dinner and came back and my whole account was erased and i can’t use my voucher anymore 50$ down the drain. Will never recommend and use these guys for anything again. Useless !!!!!”

“The course forces you to wait until the audio has finished playing before you can advance to the next page, which takes about five times longer than reading it. The second module took almost an hour to complete due to glitches and pages repeating, and then the quiz glitched and gave me a failing grade, forcing me to repeat the module for the entire hour again.”

“The videos that were supposed to play never worked. I cleared my cache, even created a Vimeo account, and they would never play. As well, when you missed questions on the quizes, or the test, you could not go back and find out what the correct answer was. So, as far as learning goes, pretty poor experience.”

“Paid for the full course, and ALL the videos were unavailable because it said I needed to log in to Vimeo. Once logged in, ALL the videos said that private and I didn't "have permission to watch" the course I PAID for. Find a different provider.”

“Took the course. Unable to take the exam even after multiple attempts. It doesn't connect to the Transport Canada site and then it times out saying I failed the attempt. Custer service email does not work and the tech support phone line glitches, and even when I do get through to the automated attendant, no one answers. Do not take this course. Find another provider.”

“The courses and exams took me just over four hours, which was reasonable and informative. However, I have been trying to take the final exam, but the website will not redirect me to the test. I have tried on multiple browsers with many troubleshooting attempts. My records show multiple test attempts, yet I haven’t even seen a single question. I’m now on my second hour of trying to access the final exam and feeling like my time has been wasted.”

“this is the worst course i have ever taken, the amount of time you have to wait after reading the few sentences of information on the slide is ridiculous. and god forbid you get more then two of the extremely tedious and poorly written questions on the chapter quizzes you have to redo the ENTIRE CHAPTER, and its not even like you can read through at your own pace, you have to wait through the terribly long timers on each slide. literally made me want to rip my hair out like omg.”

“Absolutely brutal format. The time spent on each page is mandatory. Be prepared to spend literally a full day trying to complete this course, waiting for each page to count down its timer, second by agonizing second, before you can move on to the next page, each of which can be read in seconds. It's an incredibly paternalistic and stupid design. The quizzes are focused on completely arbitrary information ("what governmental agency regulates the requirements for life preservers?" Gosh I wonder.) Save yourself from this hell and look elsewhere.”

“Each question is forced at a few minutes, frequently the website will not go to the next section requiring another few minutes for the clock to reset. Worst website I’ve ever been on. Ended up not finishing exam on this site and buying another boaters license on another website.”

“March 20 2025 I sat at the computer and took the course. They charged my credit card. Eight weeks later I still don't have a license. Called last week, Chuck told me they have had trouble with the printer for 2 months. For 2 months? They had no trouble taking my money. Go some place else for the course.”

“I have been waiting for my license for more than five weeks now. I have sent multiple emails but have not received any responses. Additionally, Transport Canada does not have any record of my license. I feel like I am a victim of a scam.”

“Experience nulle pour se connecter, revient en anglais, j'ai payé le cours et mon profil est finalement en francais mais le cours est en anglais. Les commentaires en ligne disent aussi que vous ne remettez pas la carte. c'est nul nul nul. Terrible comme perte de temps en ligne”

“The quizzes at the end of each module sometimes asked questions from future modules I have not yet completed. The multiple-choice answers are often worded poorly leading to incorrect answers. If you fail one of the modules instead of being able to review the information and retest, you have to retake the entire module and are still required to wait 1-3 minutes on every single question which is a total waste of time. It says that this course takes 3 hours, but it actually took me over 7 hours to complete. The positive: The videos and narration are well-made and helpful. I haven't taken this course from any of the other providers, so I don't know how it compares, but I would not recommend this course to others until they make some needed changes.”

“Paid for and took the exam, passed in the 80s. Haven't received my card. I did receive an e-mail with F-bombing and my password was displayed with ALL my information”
