I’m trying to return books that I got delivered that I no longer need. It’s been more than 48 hours to hear anything from anyone. I would like to send the books I ordered, received, but didn’t use and would like a refund.

They cheat you out of money… I got an offer to sell back a book for 1/3 of what I paid for it. I rated the book with the criteria that they gave even being generous. When they sent me the check it was $6 less than what was offered. 2 weeks have passed since I sent them an email (no options to speak with a person on their phone line) still no answer even sent the message twice. I will let my books rot before I will use them again.

Took my money without telling me that my card expired before the rental agreement. I read the terms. No mention of that. 10 days to get money back. Scammer!!!!

They SHIPPED ME, an incorrect book, I paid extra for quicker shipping. Still took a week. Wrong book, sent a message the night I received, even requested a return label. The label was never acknowledged. DID NOT receive anything til the next week when they asked me to send a picture. I had already paid 12.95 to return the book. Sent them a message with the shipping number details, also with a receipt. Still no reply. Until 5 days later, when they refused to SWITCH the book for the correct one. IM NOT SURE IF THEY JUST WANT TO MAKE PEOPLE SPEND MONEY THEY DON'T HAVE, OR WHAT. I've been trying for 2 weeks to resolve ISSUES WITH MARI. NOT A THING WORTH MY TIME SO FAR. PLEASE GO IN PERSON.

The week of finals, the book was due, but no notification reminder was send prior to that day, and additional money were automatically charged. I did not need a textbook at this point, I was just busy. I guess that's how they make money after people order from them due to a cheaper price. I won't order from them anymore that's for sure. I would rather use Chegg as usual.

This business is horrible and adjusted the price AFTER I was quoted what they would give me for my books. Now they have my books and I have no choice.. They are a scam company.

SELLER BEWARE!. I sent a book to them that was in "very good" condition but they lowered the condition to "acceptable" so that the payout was less. So they went from being the company to offer me the most money back to now being one of the lowest payouts. It's a scam, they advertise high payouts and claim a worse condition. They are supposed to give you a chance to take your book back but they never offered that to me and just paid me the lower price. Will never do business with them again and have contacted the BBB as well. I suggest others look at the complaints against them. Go somewhere else to avoid being ripped off.

Tried several times to reach them by email and no luck. Only belatedly did I bother to check out reviews below. So glad I did! What a huge headache, I see that they are entirely unethical. Enough proof here to pass.

Bait and switch. They quote you one price and then offer you cents on the dollar for it once they have possession of it which you can decline, but be prepared to pay them $9 to get it mailed back. My offer was 22.25 they offered 4.15 for it once they had it, and to have it sent back would cost me $9. They leave you in a spot where you are forced to sell it for dirt cheap. DONT USE.

July 10, 2024 I shipped textbooks to BooksRun for them to pay me $24.24 for these items. The Textbooks were delivered to them which I have confirmation about, along with my order status having the "delivered" status. On July 16, 2024, they sent me an email stating they had issued a check and the latest it would arrive was 20 business days from it being shipped. Their email stated it would not arrive later than August 16, 2024. On August 13, 2024 I still hadn't received the check, and I emailed them to inquire about the status - which I was told to wait 48 hours to hear back from the customer support team. On August 16th, I sent an additional email since this was longer than 48 hours of the generic, "please give us 48 hours to respond". I am writing this on August 23 and I still have yet to hear anything from them about an update on my check or even a response to any email whatsoever. I need them to reach out and resolve this issue, at this point they have stolen from me I'm lucky I didn't expect hundreds of dollars from them like many other people, but still, theft is theft and they shouldn't get away with this. How are they still operating with all of these people saying the same thing? Edit: BooksRun only reached out and replied when they saw my negative reviews. While they did end up paying me, I will not be changing my number of stars because I should not have to go to these lengths to get a response from a business

Sent them a book in acceptable condition. I chose that rating because it was somewhat ratty. As far as I am aware acceptable is the lowest rating for a book. I just got a message saying they’d pay me HALF as much due to the condition. Bunch of thieves. What am I going to do pay to have it shipped back? SMH

Horrible Experience. I ordered two books for my daughter for college. I chose the rent option. AFter holding my reservation for 5 days they decided to send me cancellation notice telling me they apparently do not have the book. Unfortunately its too late to order a book now bc her class starts in 3 days. IDK why had to wait 5 days to see if have the book or not. I would not go through them. Now I have to rent book elsewhere and will have return two books to two diff places. Also took really long delivery for the one book still have not rec'd it.

STOLE hundreds of dollars worth of books I shipped them I used booksrun.com before to sell my books without issue but only ever shipped 1-2 books at a time. This time I shipped 5 books. They sent me payment for only 2 of the 5 books, one of which was only worth $5. The other 3 books were quoted at at $55-$100 each for a total of $225 (total for all 5 was $328.62). Booksrun paid me $103.75 for 2 books, has kept the other 3, and has not paid me the additional $225! They never emailed me to explain why I was paid $0 for 3 of the books, never offered to send them back, and will not communicate with me about the issue. I emailed their customer support and received an automated reply saying they would respond within 48 hours. 4 days passed before I received an emailing asking if I shipped them the books followed by “We really hope this helps you out, and that this email finds you doing well. You are always welcome to contact us if you have any additional concerns.” As if somehow by asking if I shipped the books was a solution and the issue was resolved. I emailed back the same day letting them know that I shipped all 5 books in the same box. That was 3 days ago and I STILL have not heard from them and still have not been paid for the other 3 books. All 5 books were wrapped together in bubble wrap and packaged into the same box. If they received 2 of them then I know they received all 5. I could have sold the books on campus for less hassle and for more than $0. I also notice that the “thousands” of reviews on their website are fake. There is no way to leave a review on their site! They just pull 4 and 5 star reviews from other sites and don’t post any 1, 2, or 3 star reviews. Absolute theft! Avoid them unless you want to give your books away for free!

The Latin book I sent back was in “perfect “ condition. Absolutely no tears, bends in pages, writing etc in that book that they now said was in poor condition. I will no longer use this company to sell my books back to. It’s stealing when you lie about the condition of a book that is already in their possession. The customer has no control at that point. Horrible experience.

They are liars. Downgraded or flat rejected to pay for many books I sent in with no real explanation. To send 1 book back they require you pay basically the cost of sending an entire box. The one picture I did get back where they claimed the book was water damaged was not even the correct book. If sell back your book or any other site is offering even significantly less for your books I highly suggest you go with that offer, and only use book run when nobody else will buy.

BEWARE, this place is a SCAM! They said they mailed the book out but I never received it. Went back and forth with them but they insisted it was mailed to the correct address. Then they had the nerve to put you on collection (+ additional fee they added on). You are stuck with paying for the book + additional fee that you DIDN'T even have. Such an UNETHICAL business. Read all the bad reviews + the reviews on Better Business Bureau and it's telling. Wish I came across this site before purchasing.

Previously sold to them without issues. I sold them multiple medical textbooks that were sealed, brand new condition, had unscratched codes for online access to apps. 1 book they claimed was counterfeit, several other books they claimed were in poor condition. They refused to send proof/pictures. I opened a case with them online and they refused to respond. Its impossible to get ahold of a human. Its a joke.

I seen that they have good reviews so I gave them a try but I am starting to think the reviews are fabricated and flooded to hide critical reviews. Bookrun tends to quote you high prices to get you to sell them your book. However, once you send them your books, they will end up paying you less than half of the original offer. Books were in great condition and they would claim the books are in poor condition so they will not pay original quote. If the books were high value and buy certain companies they automatically flag it as counterfeit so that they don't have to pay. I've never had the experience with other vendors. If I were you I'd avoid doing business with bookrun.
