“I ordered a retirement gift for a friend that was to be delivered to his home on his last day of work. The On-line order was completed with the "Deliver to" address. Instead it was delivered to my the address ("Bill To"). When I placed the order on-line, I was waiting for an email conformation which i never recieved after a couple hours. I kept the website open and recorded the conformation number. I checked my spam folder, and "NADA". When I phone Brocrates to register a compaint vand recieve some form of compenesation (ie waive the shipping fees??), I was basicaly told it was my fault for not have the correct thing 'ticked' on the website. Really?? I do most of my shopping on-line. Is there something wrong with your website? This was my 1st order with Brocrates and it will be my last sorry. Poor customer service!”
“Tried to have a brocrate delivered to my father for Father's Day and as of today, I guess it's sitting at a post office. Charged $20 for delivery and my elderly parents have to retrieve it themselves. Canada Post did not attempt delivery - they were home all day. They didn't leave a notice at the house. They didn't leave a notice in the PO box at the local post. You should hire a real delivery service if you are charging people for things to be delivered.”
“Super disappointed in Brocrates. They lost my order and did nothing to help me track it. Customer service was responsive but full of excuses to the point of ridiculous and making stuff up. When I finally received the crate, the sparkling wine I added and laid for was missing. Very disappointed in the whole experience. I won't shop here again.”
“Hi,
I ordered your Complete Craft Beer Tasting Flight for my son in law for Christmas.
What he received is not what was ordered. He received: 4 of the same glasses, Only 2 different types of beer from the same company - 3 and 3 of the same beers
And the tasting board does not have the niches to hold the beers. When I asked for the correct item to be sent Brocrates responded that I agreed to substitutions. This is a completely different gift, not a substitution. In Canada businesses are not permitted to advertise merchandise then send something different even if there is a disclaimer. They refused to send the correct product or issue a refund.”
“Do not order from this ‘company’. I spent almost $300 on a crate with extras and it arrived (on the wrong date) with ‘substitutions’ for everything !!!!! The substitution for $50 of extras was 3 mini bags of chips and a box of chocolates instead! How is that a substitute for pistachios $10 - bbq chips $8 - olive oil and herb crackers $8- grana papadano cheese $18 ???? Fake crystal wine glasses instead of wooden pepper mills and a 4 piece set of wooden tool set ?? No balsamic vinegar or olive oil at all. What is the substitute for these things ? Customer services response was we have the right to substitute whatever we want. This company does not value customer service at all and is a total scam.”
“I do not recommend this company. They have no satisfaction guarantee and will substitute items without warning, even if the substitutions are outside the theme of the box you ordered.
In my case, I received seafood pâté in a meat crate, which completely changed the nature of the gift. Customer service insists their policy allows substitutions, even when they go against customer preferences or the theme of the order.
I paid for 3-business-day delivery and even received an email confirming the order would arrive on time. However, the gift arrived 7 days late, and tracking updates were inconsistent, repeatedly claiming it would be delivered “by the end of the next day.” They refused to guarantee or assist with delays.
I find it unethical for a company to take no accountability for failing to meet the expectations they set at the time of payment. If they do not resolve this issue, I intend to escalate it with consumer protection laws, which override policies set by companies. Especially when they fail to ensure prior and informed consent when processing the order. Just wow.”
“It is interesting to see that, when Brocrates isn't busy filling this site with fake reviews, the negative ones start rising to the top.
Let me add one more. The delivery was a full 10 DAYS LATE! And this was within a large metropolitan area (Calgary, AB.)
Their response? "Third-party courier services" = not our problem, 'bro'!
Never again... 'bro!'”
“My girlfriend order a crate for me for Christmas, it came a week late and did not contain the items that she had picked. When she reached out to customers services they said they can change any item in a crate without telling the buyer if there items where not in stock”
“Absolutely disgusting. I ordered a crate with the bottles or red wine and received a white, red, and sparkling. I added a birthday balloon, cheese and chocolate covered strawberries. The balloon was flat, strawberries were molded and so was the cheese. I paid $175 for garbage and when I called they told me it was my fault for not selecting express shipping and they do not guarantee that your food will arrive edible. Awful service! Even after I sent photos they only offered me back 50% of the strawberries and cheese for a refund of $45. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. Miko was was rude and could careless about customer satisfaction.”
“Bait and switch every time. Their website is very misleading and false advertising. They advertise baskets but it’s never the same as what gets delivered. I’ve spent extra on specific beer cheese upgrades my husband got regular cheese not the beer flavoured cheese I paid a lot extra for. Most recently I bought him a beer tasting flight board only for it not to include a flight board and all the beer to be the exactly the same so it’s not a tasting set at all. I always bought a second basket that was supposed to have a bottle opener that I specifically bought to go with the tasting set and it also didn’t come with a opener and it was the same beer he already got with the other basket. The company doesn’t care about their reputation or their customers I got a lame excuse of them saying they can substitute or change anything they want to. They claim it’s equal value but it is not. It’s always less value. I paid extra for beer cheese and your trying to tell me cheese I can buy at no frills for $5 is the same value it’s such a lie. Same with not receiving the flight board and bottle opener those are the main components of the gift that’s missing. I was hoping that they had customer service but they don’t. I used to order for everything my husband birthday, Valentine’s Day, anniversary, Father’s Day, and just celebrate accomplishments etc but I just won’t order again. Theres plenty of other places that have accurate descriptions and honour their orders.”
“Came with spilled beer all over and for a 120+ CAD crate I would expect more than Budweiser, coors, coors light and other p*ss beers to be in it. horrible selection and horrible price. yikes”
“This is appalling to me ordered a gift basket from my kids to their grandpa. It came quickly I will give them that. When I unpacked box the packing slip was glued to the top. There was no way to get it off without damaging the lid. I emailed customer service. I received a response saying presentation matters they apologize thats it. I replied they said no compensation nor would they tell me how to do review when asked. All I wanted was a new box which for the record is not wood but they refused. It's their error, poor customer service now kids have to get a damaged gift. DISGUSTING These crates aren't cheap not much in them and its damaged but its ok to them.”
