Ordered a mother’s day present last Friday and paid for delivery but it still hasn’t arrived so now I’m gonna have to print out an e-voucher, total waste paying for the delivery fee and now gift looks last minute. 😞

This Company are an absolute joke. The communication is absolutely non existing when you have a problem. You have to continually chase them only to be put on hold for 15+ minutes each time and then told they will get back to you. They do not advertise anywhere on their website that you can only use your voucher when the hotel has agreed rates with Smartbox. I tried 3 different hotels , all with availability only to be told that we couldn't use the voucher as it wasn't at the rate agreed. After nearly 3 weeks of battling I have now requested a refund and will book the Hotel direct. Total waste of time.

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear you've had problems trying to book a date for your hotel stay. All the hotels that we work with do aim to accommodate as many Buyagift customer bookings as possible, but some hotels may be fully booked at certain times. The hotels do have a set number of room allocations for Buyagift vouchers and once this quota has been filled they may have to advise certain dates are fully booked. To minimise any disappointment this may cause, the hotels will always try to make extra rooms available where possible. In addition to this, Buyagift always aim to add information regarding limited availability to the product webpage and also to the My Voucher site. Your comments however have been passed on to our management team to review and ensure future improvements are made. We really hope your experience does not deter you from visiting our site again in the future!

This was a great deal, unfortunately the venue (mercure hotel Bristol) let this down. Arrived to the hotel to find an extremely unhelpful receptionist, after some to-ing and fro-ing I made my way to the gym. I can honestly say it was the most disgusting place I've ever been too. Probably never cleaned, the machines had actually rusted in line with users sweat drops and there was dried sweat all over the running machine. The Swiss balls were grimy and the cleaning gel had congeeled some time ago into a rusty mess on the wall. It was horrific. Also nowhere to get fresh water although I would be worried about catching something if there was any. Went to the changing rooms and it just got worse, the shower controls were hanging off the wall, paint peeling above the shower, slime/mould on the floor and walls. In the toilet the seat had gone rusty from urine, the bin placed next the toilet was again rusty from urine. The door handle was practically falling off. I've got the photos and they will be all over trip advisers. The treatment itself was in a different building.. The therapists were lovely in this place bless them. God knows how anybody is supposed to relax tho when the air con sounds like a 747 taxiing on the runway for take off. I am so disappointed. A treat to get away from the stresses of work actually turned out to be a disaster from the minute we walked in the door. A great voucher ruined by a terrible venue

Well the experience I just purchased said spa and afternoon tea but it’s not really a spa... it’s use of facilities.... I’ve not been on the experience yet but we’ll see what happens on the day...

I paid £7.95 for next day delivery, I ordered it on Saturday so at the latest I expected it on Tuesday, it's Thursday today and still no sign of it! I will not be using this company again, 1 star is too good!

I tried to buy a gift and got all the way through the process and then at the Payment stage, told me that the Card No was incorrect-but it was not. Screen just froze - no purchase.

Hi Pauline, I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems when trying to place your order on the website. If an error message is appearing on the screen stating that your card details are not being recognised or are invalid, there are a number of things that could cause this. • Are you card details correct? As simple as this may sound, this is the most common reason for card payment errors. Please check you’ve entered the correct card number, expiry date and security code. If any of this information is wrong, it will stop the order from going through. • Are you placing your order on a work computer? Security settings on work computers are often very high and this can prevent the payment from going through. Please try to place the order again on a home computer and you shouldn't have any problems. If your order is still not going through, please Just call our friendly Customer Service Reps on 0208 275 5220 and they'll be happy to place your order for you.

Hotel experience was advertised by BAG as available all week round, but despite the hotel still having availability with every room type on our desired date we were told our BAG voucher wasn’t able to be used.

Tried to book hotel using the voucher but first available dates were in June. 5 months away. Despite the fact that there are rooms available on their website. Was told this is because its a voucher. This should not be the case!

Don't bother with the hotel breaks, it's one of those '' looks great in the brochure '' scenarios. My wife and I spent a whole afternoon and evening trying to find somewhere that wasn't restricted to winter months or only Wednesdays and Thursdays , this wasn't included and that wasn't included and breakfast was extra and you had to pay more or you got the room round the back with the tiny windows and the view of the waste bins and the staff car parking. As I say.... looks good until you read the SMALL PRINT.......Sorry Buyagift, we were so pleased to receive this as a present from our children but extremely unimpressed with the narrow choices offered.

Impossible to book anything close to what you should or expect to be able to, so many people experiencing the same problems, this company is money motivated only and not customer experience. ***AVOID***

They should make easier to book for the experience. It seems like all the effort is on making it easy to buy the voucher, but once you try to book it's so complicated. And it seems like they always trying to get more money out of you with the constant need to upgrade to "Premium" for better availability. I don't recommend it and I won't ever use it again!

Tried to book overnight accommodation after trawling through the options on the website. Contacted the Roebuck in Wickam (which we had chosen for our night away) to be told they don't take Buyagift vouchers. Tried to call Buyagift all morning but my calls went straight to a voicemail informing me of their opening hours - which were when I was phoning. Sent an email to customer services asking for a return call - I'm still waiting. Not good enough! This is not a gift, it's a farce. I will be telling my daughter not to bother in future as the company is not fit for purpose. Not a good experience at all. Please read your emails and call me soonest. D McMullan

Booked a weekend away. Pretty straight forward but due to family circumstances had to re-arrange dates. Buyagift not interested or hotel, they basically said because it was buyagift they won't change dates. What a complete waste of a gift.

Spent 40mins on hold 3 separate calls where they hang up or disconnect the call. I then tried again on a landline and same result. Still trying to book but everything seems to be fully booked.

Expensive but very poor next day express delivery i choose this delivery item come after 3 days.not recommended then better choose standard free one.

Terrible!! Most stressful gift I have ever been bought. I gave them dates to which they said I needed to pay an additional £80. I paid the £80. They then asked for confirmation of names to book. In the same email as giving them names and PRIOR to the booking being finalised I asked that the dates be amended to one week later. Instead of responding they just booked the original dates and when i said I had asked for different dates I got told to pay more money. Which would be even more than the had I booked with the hotel direct minus any gift voucher. I asked for them to provide me with a solution and suggested that maybe they provide me with alternative dates that don't cost and I was told they had booked it on the earlier dates and I have the booking voucher. No customer service at all. No going over and above to try and assist. I tried to point out that they booked it AFTER I requested different dates but it didn't hit home.
