Just back from the Ireland Grand Highlights tour and was not impressed. While Ireland is a beautiful country our driver didn't know much about where we were or what we were looking at. We were bored and sore on a very uncomfortable coach for hours at a time. There are no services to stop at and the toilet on the coach didn't flush and had an 18 inch step on entry. The Drummond Hotel at Ballykelly was brilliant. Treaceys Hotel in Wicklow wasn't that great although the food was good it took almost 2 hours for them to get the food out. Westlodge Hotel at Bantry Bay was a beautiful hotel. Our last hotel was The Pillo at Ashbourne and while it was clean and had good food, it was full of children and the noise was deafening. It's obviously a party hotel as there was fighting in the corridors at 3.30am. In my opinion this trip needs a rethink by Caledonian and perhaps a guide on the coach would be the best option.

I have just returned from the Caledonian New Southlands Hotel, Scarborough. A nice clean and friendly hotel. The staff were very good. I enjoyed the drinks package and the night-time entertainment. The dining room is very good, but I found the food average and not very hot. I had a small single room which I found cold. The small bathroom had a small shower head, that lacked power, and in adequate. Two out of three days, I hand washed myself in a small vanity basin. I was in room 302. Apart from the negatives, this is still a good package for the money, and would go again, hopefully not in room 302. Alan Parnell.

Our driver Ricky was very professional and exceptionally helpful, careful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The murder mystery night was entertaining and enjoyable. The only disappointment was only one zero alcohol beer. No zero wine or gin. The staff was helpful and the food was nice and plentiful. Beach, promenade and shops are easy accessible on foot. Will travel again with caledonian. Tree stars for the hotel otherwise 4* old but clean.

New year trip to southport .The driver Philip was very pleasant and helpful 👍. Day trip to Liverpool excellent. Been on a few trips with caladonian tours and enjoyed .This time we stayed in Scarisbrick Hotel .Breakfast was excellent Dinner not so good. Not much of a choice and dessert was same every night .small piece of chocolate or raspberry sponge.New years day there was a brunch/lunch which was chillie/rice and chips and boiled eggs ! Wouldn't call that lunch .Rooms basic but clean but in 4 days no housekeeper to check bins toilet etc . Wouldn't recommend Scarisbrick Hotel. Wouldn't go back

Having booked for the polar express & Christmas at Gulliver’s -premium package on 30th nov /1st dec for 2 adults and 2 grandchildren! Sadly our 5 year old granddaughter took very poorly the night before we were due to travel - I called caledonian to explain this and was told that there was nothing they could do regards a refund! To say the hotel -theme park and travel time to actually get to the polar express experience was absolutely terrible is an understatement! After eventually arriving at the theme park to then be told to enjoy the park until we were allowed to get into our hotel room at 4pm! After a long day travelling to then find the hotel very tired and not as clean as we would have expected - no toiletries in the bathroom not even hand soap after travelling all day the least we were hoping for was at least some toiletries to freshen up with? We were told to go back to the theme park @ 6pm for dinner and Xmas show ! The food was absolutely the worst we have ever payed for - a roll with something that was so disgusting inside that we could not work out what we had be served along with cold fries - along with a pot of hot water and a sachet of coffee and milk - this to me is not what I would call a dinner - the breakfast next morning was of the same bad quality - and the idea the a hotel only allows breakfast between 7.30 am and 8am is ridiculous We then had to be on board the bus for 9am to travel another 1hour 45 min journey to the polar express experience! Had the package explained the travel time we would never have booked this and I would definitely say this is not value for money!

Had four day trip to Stratford and Oxford ,staying at Britannia hotel Coventry. Our room at hotel was nice and spacious ,clean and plenty not water.meals were buffet and I was disappointed that the menu or the food items were not identified as to gluten,I felt I was always having to find someone to tell me which were gluten free .I had stated on booking that I was gluten free and also rang Caledonian to make sure this was catered for.

We have just returned from a 4 day break from Torquay, our first time with Caledonian & 1st time on a coach break. Firstly the coach was comfortable, the driver Tom was excellent, & the 9 hour journey although long was ok. The hotel 'Torbay Hotel', was perfectly situated, straight across was the Marina, directy behind was the town centre with shops, bars, & pubs. Just a short walk to the pier also. Check in to the hotel was quick & well organised, given your keys & drinks vouchers in envelopes on departing the coach. The ground floor & reception area was quite nice with plenty of seating in & around the bar. The hotel itself was very tired looking with stained walls & carpets. The rooms were clean but again tired looking with poor tv reception. We paid a supplement for a sea view but you can't see much for the trees directly across the road. Now to the food, it was below average, from watery, tasteless soups, to cheap frozen vegetables & poor choice main courses. The restaraunt staff did their best & were very polite, but the service was a bit disorganised with some people waiting a long time between courses. You choose your own table so maybe have to wait a while to be served while other guests who come in afer you get served before you, not complaining just could easily better organised. Breakfast was ok, but much better organised as it's buffet. The hotel staff were excellent, pleasant & helpfull, all except for one of the bar staff, didn't get her name, lady with dark hair, acted she was doing you a favour, quite loud, & swearing with colleagues at reception within earshot of guests, not very proffesional at all. In summary we had a great time & would travel with Caledonian again without doubt.

Just returned from Torquay nice break Hotel usual standard but clean meals good but limited choice. We had a great trip on steam and ferry, would not recommend Exmouth and Exeter trip. Exeter tipicle all shops with the local idiots roaming around the Cathedral. Not impressed with the driver's attitude towards a couple of elderly passengers who had mobility problems boarding and alighting from the coach. I have used Caledonian a few times but never to Torquay. I don't do reviews but because of the above I had to record my experience. Hence 3 stars.

I have just come back from a two day break from Glasgow Moffat and St Mary’s Loch. After a near miss on the way driver Peter did all he could, jollying us along until we had a 45 minute break at Gretna Green. We then headed on to the bustling city of Glasgow for the afternoon. We arrived at hotel Adamton Country House Hotel, sounds great but it’s very dated in need of modernisation, but it is clean and the food was nice. Following breakfast we were due to go to Moffat and St Mary’s Loch. Little did we know we were only going to Moffat Mill for a 45 minute tea/coffee stop and St Mary’s Loch we saw out the coach window as we drove passed. Disappointing that we didn’t actually get to go to Moffat or the Loch. We went to Jedburgh where all shops were closed apart from one cafe. All in all disappointed second day as it was spent on the coach majority of the time.

Stayed in The Britania Internation Hotel which wasnt very good. Food was terrible staff not very friendly did not interact with guests. Not value for money for hotel. Room was mediocre needs updating carpets a bit threadbare and electrical sockets hanging off the wall. Pillows were rockhard. Beds were very lumpy you could feel the springs.

We went on the Birmingham Primark and Christmas market trip. Firstly our driver Stuart was the life and soul of our coach travel. Although he was very professional it also felt like he was just one of the group. he was very friendly and informative. The hotel in Coventry was Clean and could'nt fault anything, food was delicious and beds comfortable. Primark was the biggest disapointment, was expecting it to be a little special but it was no better than any other primark. just like any other shop. Next time will try a mystery tour as do enjoy the trips .

Just back from Aberdeen 5 days trip. Coach on time, stopped twice on way down. Brittania hotel was good, ignore bad reviews. Room was nice, clean, comfy bed, lush shower. Fully stocked beverage tray and refill help yourself to refills on Reception. Meals good, self service.. Bar prices reasonable and very good service. Trips out, day one not very good, day two to was much better. Didn't go on day 3. Driver Ray, sorry but not very informative. Great bunch of people on the trip, everyone got along.

We went on mystery tour 29th april. First stop Leamington Spa...that was good. Next overnight stay at Ibis hotel at Birmingham Airport..this was not a good stop over..food not great and stuck in the hotel with nowhere to go..nothing to do or see. Breakfast was just OK. Then on to Stratford upon Avon which was very nice. Overall considering the price should not grumble but Ibis was in our opinion third rate...it spoilt the holiday...thought we would be in a town or village so somewhere to go after evening meal. Not sure if we will do another one as would hate to have to go to the same hotel again. We have friends who do the mystery tours and none of them were taken to this hotel and all of them were in places for the overnight stay that were towns so went out after for a stroll.
