“I have always found the service at Calumet less than desirable... it is definitely better now more staff have been taken on, I at least get served alot quicker, but mistakes and a lack of enthusiasm to help still seems present.”

“I went into the Glasgow branch as I was looking to upgrade to a better tripod. After looking online, Calumet was best price. But also the advice I was given instore was excellent. Calumet had their own tripods but this wasn't pushed on me and settled for the Manfrotto MDeVe 755XB which Is a brilliant piece of kit. Thanks Calumet”

“I have mixed feelings about my dealings with this company. I wanted to purchase a substantial lighting kit but pre-sales communication was little short of abysmal and turned my order into a needlessly stressful experience that dragged on unnecessarily. At times I felt that I was doing the company a favour by wanting to buy from them. However, the poor pre-sales was more than rescued by my treatment in the store itself. Given my previous experience I'd fully expected my booked demo not to have made it into the diary and that all my items wouldn't be in stock but I was happily proved wrong on both counts: everybody knew I was coming, I received a perfect one-hour demo in a separate room and yes, miraculously, I walked away with every one of the nine items I required. Would I use Calumet again? Yes, definitely. They're pretty well unique in the marketplace (though for some reason they don't deal with Olympus) and their staff are friendly and knowledgeable - when you get to speak to them, or in the rare event that they reply to an email or call you back.”

“An absolutely cracking case and built like a tank, with plenty of room for two bodies, lenses, flashes etc etc etc. The only downside is the slightly suspect handle which feels a little bit flimsy, but no issues as yet. For the price it's an absolute bargain.”

“My Canon 1DX would not turn on, I spoke to Calumet Manchester who said to take it to them and they would send it back to Canon UK under warranty. I did not buy my camera from them so thought this was really good of them. When I took it into store they told me to go on to Canon's website and become a CPS member and to let them have the membership number I was allocated and they would attach to camera to speed up repair. I received a call telling me Canon had the camera but were waiting for a spare part so it would take about 1 week, I could have a replacement camera if I wanted but chose not to. Sure enough the following week I was told it was returned to them did I want to collect it or would I like it posting. They posted it to me free of charge. As usual the staff go above and beyond to keep you in touch with what is happening. I always find staff friendly and helpful and would recommend Calumet to anybody.”

“Great confusion over buying Trigger for Genesis system. Own Genesis system, lost trigger system. Placed order to click and collect from Manchester store. Cancelled order when missing items where found. Informed Calumet within minutes of paying and ordering replacement that device wasn't required. Told to clarify order number with card details. Before I had chance to provide info as end of working day. The item was shipped to my home address even though the item was a click and collect. Busy on a week long shoot, I now have to find the time to travel out to a calumet store to return item. As if posted -postal costs won't be reimbursed. Yawn.”
